    Thanos is actually a pretty good villain, and it's not despite his flawed reasoning, it's because of it. He sees one planet's fall as proof of his ideas, that life left unchecked unbalances the universe. As many have pointed out, if he really wanted to save the universe he could so by using the infinity stones to multiply it's resources. But he doesn't; instead he goes on this crusade to wipe out half of all life. Why? To prove that he's right. It was never truly about saving the universe, it was always about his pride.

      I think the infinity stones cant do anything.For example Iron Man's shield was able to redirect the power of a beam of the power stone so I guess they have limits.

      Multiplying its resources wouldn't work. You know what has proven effective on Earth at least is education, especially for women, healthcare, and contraceptives. Once these things are in place in a nation, its birthrate goes way down, every single time. Sometimes, too low, like in the case of Korea and Japan, due to other factors.

    Except for the reality stone, all the stones we see thanos collect are done because a character cannot bear to sacrifice someone they care about.
    Finally, we see Wanda accepting she must do it, but she's too late.
    Thanos' will to sacrifice a loved one is tantamount to his success and synonymous with his goal.

      Increasing resources doesn't stop the problem, it's just a temporary relief. Just like repotting a plant that's grown too large. One day it will grow too big for the new pot, too, and begin to starve itself or other plants around it. Why not prune it instead and keep it at a manageable level?

    I like that, despite how depraved and horrible he is, Thanos still cares for his daughter, even if it is in a fucked up way. He offers her food, feels bad when she says she hated her life, and doesn't sit in his throne when she says she hates it.

    Actually what Thanos wanted was a law of the nature. Nature itself balances the ratio. For example, in a jungle say there are two living beings: tiger and Deers. Now if the amount of tiger increases, then the number of deer will decrease. However it will result in the shortage of food for the tigers and eventually they will have to die. As a result, the number of deers will increase. It’s a balance where everything remains 50-50. Nature itself ensures that. And it does by killing one side, not by increasing the resources. With the stones, if you want to double the resources it may violate the laws of nature as everything has a balance. Idk though🤷‍♂️ But Thanos is not responsible for doing that. It’s not his duty. He is not the nature. Therefore his actions are not valid.

    • @TheSwerve222
      @TheSwerve222 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not true. Thanos is part of evolution. Nature knowing itself. So he is nature by definition, we all are. Same with AI as an extension of human consciousness creating something else.

The one thing I hated about this movie was a lot of people slithering out of their caves and spewing ugly, hateful “Thanos is right” rhetoric around the time the country’s political landscape got more violent and divisive. Taking all of this in made 2018 a miserable year for mental health.

    Glad the MCU went in this direction, although they lacked in a lot of things, like the hulk, for example. Spider-Man was a children’s movie when it came to the plot so I’m praying to God that Kang the conqueror shows us what a new kind of villain looks like. Infinity war and loki are the best pieces of marvel so far and I think Multiverse of madness gonna be top 3. In Sam Raimi we trust
