I'm willing to agree with the abusive childhood theory. Not only have Patti and Selma been terrible to her for decades. But her mother was no saint either. On the Thanksgiving epiode, she tells Marge to her face "you never do anything right"
@@sadlobster1 If I recall correctly, after the stewardess thing, at the end of the scene, the therapist asked her if she had any other bad memories of flying, and she recounts several, culminating in her being shot at by a fight plane when she was a little girl. Then the therapist was like "that may have something to do with it as well..." lol
Two things: 1- that image of marge next to bart's cuffin comes from one first's season episode where bart repeatedly scuffled with Nelson. Bart imagined that nelson would end up killing him and he had that vision, 2- Marge was indeed emotionally abused by her mother when she was a kid. In the first season's episode "Moaning lisa", marge had a flashback where her mother said to her that she had to smile all the time, so people would know she had a marvellous mother.
2:49 I don't know why but his controlled rage, the kids scattering like rats, his deep breath and the birds fleeing always cracked me up to tears and sore sides
12:20 are you sure? In one episode we saw Bart's and Lisa's skulls and both were shaped like their heads with hair. Is it even hair? It acts like a hair but is it really?
Everyone forgets that Homer owns the Denver Broncos.....a gift from Scorpio from when he worked for them.....plus his position at a Nuclear Power Plant is easily a 6 figure a year job in itself.....that is how the Simpsons afford all the ridiculous things they ate able to afford
Well the 6K a year could also be a joke. Look at the evidence: - Homer can afford a house for his family while he is the only working person in the family. - The simpsons make a lot of vacations in different countries. Noticing that they once starred in a japanese surviving Gameshow to get a new TV but he must have more than 6K a year.
kidamaroo I actually heard somewhere that the rabbit ears were meant to be a real thing, but was scrapped due to continuity problems. The game probably included it as a throwback and isn't actually canon to the series.
She doesn't have rabbit ears. At 8:15 she has a bunch of holes in her hair, and there's no way she can hide large rabbit ears in the decreased amount of blue hair there.
The episode where Bart "is dead " Is actually a dream part of the episode when Bart defends less from Nelson when he took all of her cupcakes . If you watch the episode after Marge walks away Lisa puts a cupcake on Bart's chest . That never actually happen it was part of Bart's dream
Hey, that "black mail" thing I feel is too far. Homer would sacrifice almost anything for her. Yes, he isn't perfect, but when it counts, he is there for her. He will sacrifice his well being for her and fights for her. And he always supports her when she wants to do stuff. When Marge was getting friends, he'd always try to help her. And in a way, their marriage is what people to strive towards. People aren't perfect, and they'd often piss you off. But you have to learn to forgive and stick together despite that. And remember, when Marge didn't want Homer, everything, Homer left the house and everything with her. She doesn't need to stay with Homer for the life style.
With all those times being arrested, itd be hard to get a job to support herself and the kids.. so mayby she doesent have much of a choice? Haha just a theory.
"marge is financially dependent on homer" she has so many skills that ARE acknowledged (exept in that one episode about fenimism), i mean, everytime the town needs help, ned flanders and marge are always the first ones who are called, she could litterally go somewhere, ask for a job and done, and for the kids, she can not only manage it, but it's not like homer could escape child custody, if anything, it's HOMER who's dependent on marge for managing everything and support him emotionally
I'm being perfectly serious. Give me an example where Marge is actually sexually teasing anyone other than Homer. Like, legit 'I'm going to seduce this guy' moments - not fantasies that play in her daydreams.
Jack Hasten - Incel = involuntarily celibate. I.e. - men who can't get laid; no matter how hard try try. They have a perchance to believe that any woman who is remotely nice to them are sexually drawn to them - when they're not. And when the woman corrects them on that (usually by refusing the incels advances), the incels are quick to call them teases (or other more offensive terms) because they can't wrap their heads around the fact that a woman being polite/nice to a guy doesn't necessarily mean she wants him to bone her.
Buddy Banchuk - I never said women can't be teases (because they can be; just as much as men can); but when it comes to incels, women who reject them are considered teases because the incels mistook a woman's kindness for interest.
No friend? What about Ruth Powers? Oh and the shooting is *literally* impossible since Marge was literally away, shown in front of the town hall even in that clip you play while Mr Burns gets shot.
There is a pretty good video about the theory, which I recommend you watch. Because it explains the shot. While yes, it is true that we hear a shot, it's not clear which of the two we hear. Because as you may remember, there were two shots, one which hit Mr. Burns and another in which Smithers shoots the wooden leg. The shot we hear while seeing Marge might as well be the one where Smithers shoots.
marge not having friends isn't a fan theory it has been mentioned in the show lots & if marge was with homer for money she'd leave him for artie who is much richer,
How can Marge has rabbit ears? They just appeared as an adult? We saw her as a kid with her hair low. No ears. And in the shower, her hair is down. Still no ears.
That's why they scrapped the idea. Matt Groening talked about it on the Season four DVD commentary, mentioning that she had the hairstyle because of the ears, then they scrapped the idea because of inconsistencies. ie. Her hair style changing in different occasions.
Not a dark theory about Marge, but I have a theory that she and Homer are both exceedingly tall, and that Homer has a rather odd body structure. In the Simpsons episode "Marge in Chains", Marge's height (including hair) is listed as 8'6". In the episode "Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield", during an internal dialogue, Marge's hair remarks "your head stopped 18 inches ago". This puts Marge Simpson's height at an astounding 7 feet, making her only 3 inches shorter than the world's tallest living woman. Adding to this, pictures of Simpson family show Homer standing several inches taller than Marge (minus the extra height garnered from her hair). As such, it is reasonable to suggest that Homer Simpson stands anywhere between 7'3" and 7'6". In the episode "King Size Homer", Homer's pre-disability weight is listed as 239 pounds, or roughly 109kg. This means that his BMI can be calculated at anywhere between 20.9 and 22.3. Thus, Homer Simpson is either not overweight, or virtually his entire body is comprised of low-density fat, explaining his rotund figure.
@@PeterDanielBerg That's an interesting point of view, I've never thought about that in these terms. You know what are also a form of colonialism? Numbers. Those damned Arabs with their zeros, 1s and 2s. I am Italian and I want to use my Roman numerals.
@@fabiopeterlongo7862 hi fabio, hope you are having a good weekend. i haven't said any of these things is bad, per se. numbers exist no matter what numerals we use to describe them. some numeral systems and some unit systems tend to have greater utility than others depending on the situation. my issue with metric system fanbois is when they default to arguing that it's more useful in every situation only because more people already use it, and not, say, the merits of the actual units. for example if you want to do plumbing or musical instrument design in metric, you're probably going to have a bad time - situations like these benefit from the simple harmonic ratios and highly composite unit conversions that the american system offers. (i.e. 12 has three times as many divisors as 10; 5280 has three times as many divisors as 1000; liquid volume units are based on multiples of two, so it's easy to cut a measure in half; fahrenheit has a better resolution for the range of human-habitable air temperatures...). in this case the situation is a fan theory for a quintessentially american tv show, made in america. there is no utility in using metric units here - the op is citing the measurements provided within the show itself.
The second reason actually made me a little mad. You're making it sound like he's some evil psychopath that rules the family with an iron fist when Homer probably doesn't even know how to pay taxes. You said it like he owns Marge and she is more than capable of living on her own and taking care of her kids. If she files for divorce she would immediately get full custody of the kids and Homer would be paying child support for life. Also as for the Marge thing, the only people who are known to be friends are Homer with his bar buddies, Bart and Milhouse and the bullies. Most of the Adults in Springfield don't have friends. Finally as for Marge being a tease. She's just naturally nice. You're an adult, if a woman is nice to you it doesn't immediately mean she wants your dick.
Its confirmed Homer doesn't know how to pay taxes. When he was late filing them he rushed and lied in his forms. I think he got audited or something I didn't remember.
I don't think you know what blackmail is. You made a very convincing case that Marge is financially dependant on Homer, you didn't show anything that suggests he has or even would blackmail het
MetalSandman999 i thought blackmail involved a Compromising picture or recording of an affair and the usual “If you do/dont this, i will show EVERYONE this” line but thats what i thought
1st is wrong. Marge has made good friends with Ruth Powers - they had a fine episode with a lot of bonding and such, she often mentions her friends from the beauty parlor and finally she is friends with Milhouse's mom, mrs. Lovejoy and Apu's wife . 2nd also wrong, Homer doesn't hold any power over Marge - as noted she has had many careers - and all of them were her own choosing , she was often making more money than Homer and had better careers than Homer - he never forced her to stay at home, she chose to stay at home, but only after getting briefly bored of homemaking but in the end realizing that she likes to be stay at home mom more than the thrill or stress of a new job. Often Marge is forced to get a job to supplement Homer's low income - so his "stranglehold" on her is very loose, and her hairstyle consumes a vast amount of money, yet she still can afford it... some of the others hold more ground, but to not mention marges alcoholism or gambling addiction.... lazy.
sorry but she loves Him she accepted a Onion Ring as her wedding Ring No chick would do that for their man not because of money Hell purpose to me with a burger
I disagree that Homer is "accidentally blackmailing" Marge with a lavish lifestyle, as she could have easily divorced Homer and married Arty Ziff, who is stinking rich and still wanted her. The entire "he's oppressing her by providing for her" argument is kinda sick. Love aside, Marge needs Homer on a deeply personal level. Marge lives vicariously through others, especially Homer. While it's her nature to act like the good housewife making everyone happy and cleaning up after others at her own expense, she does often feed off the attention and craziness Homer's stunts cause, and will sometimes openly laugh at, encourage or participate in his hare-brained schemes. She needs him to serve as "permission" to act outside the scope of her own repressed nature and to serve as a buffer between her and her ego-crushing family. Additionally, Marge has a sense of power over Homer that she could not get with other men: Homer's chaotic nature (and by extension her own) can be quelled by her disapproval (usually), allowing her to switch between "orderly" and "chaotic" roles at her discretion. This puts her at the top of the pecking order as a Simpson, when she was lowest in the pecking order as a Bouviere. Naturally, these are subconscious needs, and odds are Marge is only partially aware of them, which is the cause of much of her internal conflicts or tendencies to switch between nagging disapproval and full-blown encouragement. This also extends to her interpersonal relationships outside the family (or lack thereof). Her social groupings often base around community organisations (such as the church) or social expectations (neighbours, kids' parents), and this is her doing what she thinks a good traditional housewife should do rather than what it is she actually desires. This is why you'll see her associating with characters such as Helen Lovejoy, even though it's clear in some episodes that Marge doesn't like her, and their rivalry isn't friendly. She seldom drops the goodwife persona so people don't get to know her very well, and eventually often stop trying once they realise they're not going to. I'd argue that Marge didn't view Maude Flanders as a true friend similar to how Homer and Ned aren't friends (even in episodes where they get along)-- Marge tries to be a goodwife and a member of the community largely because she feels compelled to be whereas Maude fitted into the traditional mother, wife, community member because these roles came more naturally to her. From recollection, the character she seems to be on best terms with would be Manjula, and that may be that they only socialise because they both have babies.
She lovED Homer when they were teenagers. But in an age where divorce is socially acceptable and Homer is the poster child for no-fault divorce, the question is why she is still with him when he's a jerk and a loser. When they were teens they were in love and he had no money. But now, he has money, which might explain she stays.
The fact that she's a housewife and homer is the breadwinner is not actually blackmail. Scolding someone is not holding them hostage. This is a really warped view of older style marriages.
Homer controls the finances.. that's an interesting way to say he is the one who earns all the money that supports his family. You also seem to be suggesting that Marge doesn't have any control of spending which is completely untrue.
My favorite, but sad Marge moment was when she was see a therapist and ended up telling the story of her father being a stewardess and always leave her
OK, firstly "achieve to be" is not a phrase. You mean "aspire to be". And secondly, the idea of homer controling marge because of money isn't blackmail, it's spousal abuse.
If Homer was controlling the finances for the purpose of controlling Marge or making her stay with him then yes, it's spousal abuse, but it's apparent that Marge is choosing to stay with Homer because she loves him.
I want this to be true. The early days had a lot of nutball twists planned (Homer = Krusty, Marge's bunny ears) so Patty and Selma being aliens isn't that far left field.
You know, those two aliens always seems to know a fair bit about The Simpsons and they do seem to have some sort of focus on Marge, maybe they are then reason for Marge, Bart and Lisa's deformities instead of the toxic waste?
ARE YOU SERIOUS?! 1. Dead Bart is a CREEPYPASTA. It is just an edited scene from Bart the General where Bart has a daydream about him getting killed by Nelson Muntz. 2. You don't even have to look far to prove that Marge has anxiety. One time she made her whole family not be themselves because she wanted them to fit in at a country club. 3. SHE HAS MANY FRIENDS. SHE HOSTS BOOK CLUBS THAT WEREN'T RUINED BY HOMER, MAUDE FLANDERS WAS HER FRIEND, RUTH POWERS, FREAKING NED FLANDERS ETC. 4. Marge having rabbit ears isn't a freaking theory. It's a scrapped concept. It was going to be a reference to Matt Groening's comic series 'Life in Hell'.right Get your facts right.
Hearing the arcade game being talked about brought back so much of my childhood. I stood in the pizza place after begging my dad for quarters to play it, it was my fav.
look up "The Simpsons Mysteries - Who REALLY shot Mr. Burns" series. It's more for fun and doesn't take itself seriously, but it does have some well explained alternate scenarios.
Okay you said she hadn't past the genetic deformations on to her children however in an episode Lisa and Bart realise the have no hairline but if you look at anyone else in the show even Marge and homers parents the all have a hairline so maybe on form of her genetic disformities were past on
Also, the X-ray from the arcade game suggests that the "ears" are made of bone. If this was the cask, she would not be able to wear the space helmet, police hat, etc. and they would have been visible when she was younger and wore her hair down (and was in the shower).
9:43 - Because of the treatment by her sisters, she spends most of her time in the house and a little driving. Been mostly stuck in a house since then!?
The Marge's hair loss episode is hilarious, when Dr. Hibbert examines her condition she literally has a big hole of missing hair that shows through her head.
Marge sticks around because Homer controls the money? That's not a dark theory. It's not even a theory. It's an observation. It has also been contradicted in just about every episode, so it's a bad observation.
Ferris Newhall naw they haven't been married for years. When Homer filed for divorce to get remarried. Rev. Love Joy wasn't legally allowed to marry them.
That Dead Bart story is 100% BS. Any true Simpsons fan in their right mind whose read it should be able to see right through it. And that first shot with her stood next to Bart's coffin was taken from a completed and released episode (and distorted). Plus Creepypasta does actually say their stories are made up.
What if marge just in secret like these crazy moments and adventures, huh? huh? huh? I mean its many times you see her lecture her family but then walks away hides and giggles at the situation or enjoys it.
12:15 "Thankfully she hasn't passed them onto her children." Lisa has weird hair skin and is freakishly smart. Bart also has skin hair and is somewhat deviously insane.
And Maggie is a complete psychopath I don't think any baby can you shoot a gun know what she was doing and all the other times crazy insane stuff happens which Meggie caused he is super insane dun dun dun and I think Bart is just kind of crazy bored I've done some pretty crazy stuff when I was bored
It's not just *Marge,* none of the wives from *animated TV sitcoms* has friends. *Francine* from *(American Dad)* *Lois* from *(family guy)* *Donna* from *(The Cleveland show)* *Linda* from *(Bob's burger)*
now the theory that marge has rabbit ears is kinda true since at first matt groening was planning on giving her those, but they ended up not giving her the rabbit ears. we can also confirm that, since in some episode, someone shot marge's hair, and she shot the rest of her hair completely off
The mutation is the best one. It explains so much. Bart's lack of fear, Lisa's and Maggie's high intelligence, and Marge's ears and the blue hair that covers them. One can't help but wonder,🤔 Did Marge do playboy because her mutation fits right into the bunny motif (maybe in even more ways)? ROFLMAO😂🤣😂
Can I just remind you that this is a cartoon series?! Going by this, then Homer is an immortal (like from Highlander), when you remember the only thing that we've not seen happen is him being decapitated.

1- that image of marge next to bart's cuffin comes from one first's season episode where bart repeatedly scuffled with Nelson. Bart imagined that nelson would end up killing him and he had that vision,
2- Marge was indeed emotionally abused by her mother when she was a kid.
Just Mike their skulls just had to be shaped like them so that the viewers knew that it was them
In one episode they lost both there hair but then they got wigs
Both Bart and Lisa have had haircuts gone wrong over the years, revealing actual round skull shapes...
plus barts hair isnt actually yellow its more of the colour of rust signifying the school nickname rusty
Damn that's right! I forgot about that entirely, also in another episode Bart and Lisa actually realize that their don't have a hairline also.

The 2nd theory has some holes in it, considering Homer pulls in $6,000 a year, and Marge passed on a millionaire
Look at the evidence:
- Homer can afford a house for his family while he is the only working person in the family.
- The simpsons make a lot of vacations in different countries.
Noticing that they once starred in a japanese surviving Gameshow to get a new TV but he must have more than 6K a year.
@@TheMetastasia In the late 1980s, families on one income could afford a house.

Regardless of what is going on, it pays homage to "Life in Hell" series by The Simpsons creator Matt Groening.

She doesn't have rabbit ears. At 8:15 she has a bunch of holes in her hair, and there's no way she can hide large rabbit ears in the decreased amount of blue hair there.

Marge stays with Homer because they have great sex, this was confirmed by the writers
With all those times being arrested, itd be hard to get a job to support herself and the kids.. so mayby she doesent have much of a choice? Haha just a theory.

Marge I think does want friends. She just doesn't know how to keep them.

Marge, a tease?
Only incels would finds a woman being polite to a male as them being a tease, JFC!
Madame Fluffy I can't tell whether or not you're being serious
I'm being perfectly serious.
Give me an example where Marge is actually sexually teasing anyone other than Homer. Like, legit 'I'm going to seduce this guy' moments - not fantasies that play in her daydreams.
Madame Fluffy I agree with you, I just wasn't sure whether you were being sarcastic or not.
No friend? What about Ruth Powers?

marge not having friends isn't a fan theory it has been mentioned in the show lots & if marge was with homer for money she'd leave him for artie who is much richer,
How can Marge has rabbit ears?
10:50 The ruler she stands next to puts her around 6'1.
Use metric system, please, there are 7 billion people in the world that don't understand your weird medieval stuff.
@@theprooblem the metric system is a form of neocolonialism and the bandwagon argument is not a valid argument
I was thinking the same thing, I'm pretty sure you see Marge doing the budget at one point.
the part about the taxes makes me laugh a lot because it is probably true XD
Its confirmed Homer doesn't know how to pay taxes. When he was late filing them he rushed and lied in his forms. I think he got audited or something I didn't remember.

I don't think you know what blackmail is. You made a very convincing case that Marge is financially dependant on Homer, you didn't show anything that suggests he has or even would blackmail het
Apparently it's black mail to imply you won't provide complete financial support to a woman if she is no longer your wife now lol
MetalSandman999 i thought blackmail involved a Compromising picture or recording of an affair and the usual “If you do/dont this, i will show EVERYONE this” line
but thats what i thought
Often Marge is forced to get a job to supplement Homer's low income - so his "stranglehold" on her is very loose, and her hairstyle consumes a vast amount of money, yet she still can afford it... some of the others hold more ground, but to not mention marges alcoholism or gambling addiction.... lazy.
Homer owns the Denver Broncos....a gift from Scorpio....there is no profession Marge has ever had that equals that kind of $$$

Maybe she just really likes onion rings. They are her weakness 😂
There are literal entire episodes dealing with her being super overbearing on the budget.
lol right, how else is she able to do all the shopping she does. no way does he control the finances. he makes the money, they both spend it.
Henry Loader what’s more annoying is that if she divorced homer she would likely get a good chunk of everything.
