    Thanks for sharing Emma! I can relate to your experience very much. As I started on my sales journey, I attended a 3 day sales training event in Hong Kong that was basically an event to convince attendees to buy expensive coaching packages. It was a great networking event and I was able to experience the emotions of being in a high pressure sales environment. The reason that I didn't sign us is that when I asked specific questions about the training, they'd get vague or have to run off to the next appointment instead of answering me. If they had answer me and it made sense, I might have signed up but the tactic let me know that when I had a serious question, I'd be on my own! Today, I sell expensive B2B services and I never want to make my clients feel like pressured. I believe there are ways to sell by providing solutions without playing games or using gimmicks.

      I totally agree!
      I find it so funny that so many workshops, trainings, etc. are really just expensive sales pitches that attendees pay to go listen to. I'm glad you managed to avoid being pressured - sometimes simply being around a bunch of other people who are signing up can be enough to push us to make a decision that is not in our own best interest. That's why it's so important to take time to ask questions, evaluate the offer, and determine if it's truly a good fit or you're just getting caught up in the moment.

    Interesting that you mention therapy because your story is what I experienced from two separate therapists. They just talked about themselves the whole time! And you end up doubting yourself because you're thinking, "Is this The Process? Is he leading me somewhere specific?" You trust them because you think there's an end game, but there's not.
    Let it serve as a reminder that everyone is going to have a specific agenda and role for you.

      Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry that you had those experiences. Yes, that's so true - and it's our job to be able to evaluate whether they're a good fit for what we need in that moment.

    Many of the "business coaches" don't run a successful business..

  • @chrismccabe4456

    Coaches tend to be high powered people and naturally pushy or sales-y…knowing you may cave if they challenge your “seriousness” or your ability to make a professional grade decision. If they can’t rotate back when you’re more available, that’s a sign of his lack of seriousness in my mind. Not your lack thereof.
    One question- you said others in your group raved about him but how similar were those business owners to you in terms of business type, personality and goals? Or even beyond that to give you a chance to confirm that how he helped them would help you? Or they’re actors like him?

    • @MarketingbyEmma
      @MarketingbyEmma  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely.
      They're actually very serious, accomplished, and successful. That's one reason that I put so much weight on them.

      @@MarketingbyEmma do you think maybe there are just too many coaches now in general and too many of them focus on competition more than serving their client base? Sales over quality?

    • @MarketingbyEmma
      @MarketingbyEmma  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chrismccabe4456 I definitely think that's part of it. But I think the bigger issue is that many people don't have the right experience and qualifications.
