Sigiriya(lions rock) and Pidurangala are 2 different experiences. Pidurangala is a hike to a rock with a great view of Sigiriya (and almost free). Sigiriya hike you are going thru ancient water systems, moat, etc even before the climb. And on top of Sigiriya there are lot of ruins of buidings. And a great view from the top. So two entirely different places. But sigiriya is expensive.

You could have stayed in kandy another night..there are so many hidden places to where in kandy..
Ask for tender jackfruit curry, breadfruit, jack fruit and many veggan options you will be blown away
I had the jackfruit curry and it was some of my favorite dishes from Sri Lanka, I absolutely love it so much!

Hey Lara! I was there for 1 month in March. I think you will be totally fine. Not much has changed since March with the crisis. Thank you so much, Bharadwaj! I always try to make them as informative as possible, so happy you enjoyed that. When are you going there? My driver's name was Brasa, and his number is +97 77 991 0915. He is located close to the Colombo area but is flexible sometimes. And for the ticket providers, we used a service called: Mahaweli Toura Train ticketing. Hope that was helpful! Let me know if you need anything else!
I just booked my flight and a tour guide person I’m just curious how much did they charge you for your tours. I’m literally taking the same route you all did. I just want to make sure I’m not being taken advantage of

@@currents519 I paid 550 for 4 and a half days without tip. I got picked up in Colombo, then to Sigriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliza,Kandy, Ella, and drop off to coast on last day

If you asking about Jaffna it is a 400 km trip but on the way can stop off at sigiriya
It is somewhat different as the culture is different as it is Majority Thamil so the food has a different flavor profile
It is less crowded and less touristy
