We truly went to India with an open mind. I, Erika, have traveled to over 60 countries and have never felt so distant from human connection while surrounded by so many people! You never came with open mind as soon as your wife made that comment about not smiling at the very beginning and the incident with the immigration she already madeup her mind to no to like india and leave India you never have it chance even to like and you never intended to come to India admit it,
all you ppl go to the worst parts of India even indians won't go and feel like that's only India and have an opinion about it without travelling 0.1% of the country, 99@% of the travellers go to something called Golden Triangle and sometimes Mumbai and in south only Kerala , that's just 4States there are about 25+States ppl don't even know or go to, it's monsoon season now you can go to South India or North East there are some many places you cn visit with all that Greenery, so stop generalizing Entire India,

There is a reason Sri Lanka is now clean. We effectively got rid of the caste system. In India, many people believe that it's beneath them to clean other people's garbage and that it's the job of the lower castes or the casteless. In Sri Lanka, people can't generally stand to see garbage lying around and ignore it. There are some bad areas, but the pollution in India is next level. I went in 2009 and there was garbage everywhere and no trash cans, no people cleaning the streets except in some main streets, and there was the smell of No. 2 everywhere.
I had never been prouder to be Sri Lankan.

There are places in India like Nepal called Darjeeling and Sikkim. However most of the international flights are from Delhi and Mumbai. In Delhi and Mumbai there are Bihari and Eastern UP migrants who have set up slums with dilapidated colourful houses, trashy streets and unhygienic street foods.
Instead of building World class airports, bullet trains, digital infrastructure, expressways. I think India needs to spend money on gentrifying its slum areas.
I understand. And we also know this is only one very small part of a huge country!
Darjeeling and sikkim are literally next to nepal. They were a part of nepal.

Less populated, more educated, more clean and discipline with hospitality and greenery what makes Sri Lanka special compared to other neighboring countries. No disrespect to Indians. We love India but they have a long way to go for making it clean when it comes to the level of Sri Lanka has become over the years. South India is much better than North. I ain't talking about Thamil Nadu but Kerala which is very similar to Sri Lanka.

India is nothing like Sri Lanka. India, owing to its excessively large population and less civilized areas, is not really good for travel. I'm not talking about the whole country, just some areas. But Sri Lanka, despite being a neighbor of India, is a civilized country with caring and hospitable people. They will treat you very well and offer you the best travel experience in your life.
