I wonder if you guys can help me understand. Maybe y’all can do some dump runs with temp gauges throughout. I wonder why intercoolers are so big, or even necessary. I understand cooling but the sheer size seems counterproductive to boost pressure. Seems to be a lot of dead space the turbo has to compress before the intake is pressurized. What if you ran a 5” tall IC? I’m spitballing. It’d be cool to see dyno runs with different tubing configurations.
I agree with your thoughts on “why”. I think you will find that more light-duty truck will go air to water soon for the same temp drops and efficiency.
