Your underlayment is so beautiful and soft, it would be a beautiful painting alone ❤
I always feel that it’s doable after watching you. You’re explanations are so easy to follow. I need to learn to draw accurately first
I actually bought you're pan pastels jason, and they are amazing thank you .
I love pan pastels. i’m just learning them. I love how soft the animal fur looks. Watching you create animal art is mesmerizing to me. I’m on your patreon channel, and I’m so glad I am, as your teaching technique is outstanding!
you are just the best teacher miss your patreon site just cant afford right now
Thank you, Jason.
This was informative and fascinating to see , it was great to see your process with pan pastel , stunning work 😍
hi Jason, you're awesome :) You address so many points that advanced artists might take fro granted and forget to mention or to elaborate on - Even about how many layers; how long the underpainting takes; 'don't worry about exact colours'. It's not rigid rules, it's just that as a newbie it helps to know - 'oh, be patient, in a few more layers you'll really see this' etc. :) (as we get used to papers, or how different pastels work) . The microfibre tip for cleaning between is great - PanPastel and others suggest paper towel, but I haven't found it works so well.
I'm wondering how you choose the colours you do - I think once you said the darkest you see in each area? I would love to hear more on this or see it in a video. (maybe you have done this). And for the brighter and lighter colours, I seem to find it hard to get to them if I have a dark underlayer - should I keep layering, or __??
Thanks for this and all the work you do! Also going to subscribe. :)
Great underlayer. Nice to see how you do that
Would it be a good idea to "lock" the first layer of panpastel with fixative, before adding the next layers with pastel pencils? Would that approach allow for more layers?
Fantasy amazing.Good teacher!
Another amazing painti g.Thankful.
Very beautiful
Fantastic! Thank you!
If I have filled the tooth of the paper and need to make changes in that area, I erase as much of the pastel as I can. Then, with a soft paint brush, I apply a thin layer of Liquitex clear gesso. That adds tooth and I can go back in with new pastel work.
You are amazing.

Love your work. What would you suggest to buy as a basic set of pan pastels? Thank you
I never heard of those but they look good.
Love this technique for underlayers - beginning to see how to start off. Are you using pastel pencils for the top layers or coloured pencils eg polychromos?
Hi! I buy this beautiful pallete of panpastels of yours, and I have a question, how do you mix colors, and where you do it?on the painting, or on paper?
Do we have to change every sponge for everytime we mix witha different color?
How many layers do you usually get with pastelmat?
Can you tell me your favourite pastelmar colour?
Jason, what are the sponges? I don’t see them listed up under the video.
