Great video! I wouldn't change a thing! Like Marilyn said, , I would probably use a scrap piece behind the cuts but you've probably done it so much it's not needed. And thanks for all the measurements!

All table saws may vary slightly on the slots for the runners on the miter gauges but I can definitely get a video put together on the whole process start to finish. The process will be the same no matter what brand or model table saw you have! I’ll get to working on that here in a couple of days and hopefully get it up and running soon. I’ll have to rewatch the video to see what you’re looking at just so I k ow to give you the right information. I’m working on editing the sled/jig video now for everyone. I hope to have it out tonight. I’ll grab a couple of different trees and maybe upload a “poll” in the community tab. That way, if you see the specific tree you like, I’ll give you the exact measurements! Hope that will help!
Great video and thanks for sharing! I have been asked to build these so that they will store inside one another. I thought I saw a video on this awhile back but can't find it now. If you have any dimensions or help with this it would be much appreciated.
Hey Alfred! Are you thinking like “multiple” trees inside each one? Almost like a Matryoshka doll? If you could give me a little more detail on what you’re thinking or, how many you’d like to store inside each other, I might be able to help.
@@hardshellwoodworks I would make a total of 3. All packing inside the largest one to save space when storing. I did make those from your video and they turned out great. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi Marilyn. That is a great tip! It would have been wise to place a board behind the ones I was cutting in order to make sure my cuts stayed square. I'm so used to using this sled for a separate project that utilizes the grids I have drawn on it that I didn't think about that. I appreciate the advice and will make sure to use a sacrificial piece in any future video I make! Thank you for watching my video and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
All the measurements are from the toe or tip-to-tip. I do have a few illustrations of the pieces inside my “community” section of the channel. If you are able to view it, it may be helpful as well. You’re right about that. In hindsight, I should have had supports behind each piece as it was being cut. I do have “safety warnings” listed inside of the description to the original video of this with the sled. It is a great sled and although I have not yet had an issue, I agree with you that it could benefit from some modifications. Thanks for watching and hopefully the video was enough to provide a good starting point to the foundation of building the tree itself. I appreciate the comment and hope others read it and always work at their own comfort level as safety should always the primary focus first. Happy holidays.

You need to put a spacer behind the piece you are cutting or you could get a crooked cut on the pieces

Seriously dodgy way to cross cut on a tablesaw. No one should attempt to cut this way. Just asking for a kickback!!
