    Great video. Excellent step-by-step installation and tool guide. After installation, (anecdotal) the engine seemed to have smoother acceleration and a definite deeper-throated rumble between 3K-4K rpm. No codes thrown. No reset or reprogramming of any components needed. Easy Plug-N-Play. Thank you for the help on my 2020 TSS Tundra 5.7L V-8.

    By far the best install video of the TRD intake.
    I have a 2018 Tundra 5.7 and have considered this. Your video will come in handy. Thanks!
    I am curious is it harder to change the air filter after the TRD intake install? I wouldn’t want to accidentally puncture it when putting it back together every time.

    • @MilitarizedCitizen
      @MilitarizedCitizen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it.
      The air filter isn't much harder to change. It's pretty much the same as a regular air filter replacement. On this kit, however, the air filter is rechargeable (reusable).
      Let me know how your install goes once you get it done!

  • @onlyshelton

    do you need to have any reprogramming done after the install? any check engine lights come on? I heard it would need that because there is a different air flow / temperature that the sensor might flag. thanks

      Pretty much for looks. The filter, the air flow accelerator (goes in fender), and larger/taller filter housing lid are the main difference. You might get the same performance out of just the filter and air flow accelerator.

  • @anonymousanonymous7311
    @anonymousanonymous7311 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Another great content.
    Since this video...how is the TRD Air filter holding up? Are you still using trd oil filter ? Now that you have it for awhile is it worth the money?
    thanks

    • @MilitarizedCitizen
      @MilitarizedCitizen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks again! Air filter is holding up great. I've cleaned it once and it's still in near perfect condition.
      I use the OEM oil filter because I have a plan that includes oil changes at my dealer. Once that ends, I'll probably start using the TRD oil filter and make a video for oil filter and oil changes.
      I like the TRD Cold Air Intake because it gives the engine a bit of a growl it didn't have before. At some point, I'll install the TRD dual exhaust which will add a little more growl.

    Do you have to remove the negative termination at the battery prior removing the air sensor?

    • @MilitarizedCitizen
      @MilitarizedCitizen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily. It's always a good idea to remove the negative battery cable whenever you work in the engine compartment, but that's more in case you drop a wrench and it hits a juiced circuit somewhere.

    • @ApexPro-Chris
      @ApexPro-Chris 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The point of removing the cable is so the computer forgets how you drive. Removing the cable will make the tundra re-learn your driving habits with new cai.
