I loved reading The Summer We Crossed Europe in the Rain while listening to the music. It was so dreamy, with a bit of melancholy (of course - because it’s Kazuo Ishiguro). I loved reading the intro too - about the effect songwriting had on Ishiguros’s writing. The illustrations also matched the vibe!

Enid blyton is the one who got me into reading in the first place (her famous five series!) And i read her every now and then. Such a nostalgic reading!

1Q84 was crazy 🙈 once I got into the story I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know what would happen next but the terrible things about it are so bad I totally get why someone would dnf it.

My mother had introduced me to Enid Blyton's mystery stories when I was little and I'm glad she did. Her prose I remember being crisp, concise, not of the flowery variety. Too bad she's one of those authors (like Mark Twain) who have come under the axe of cancel culture lately.

Thx - enjoyed your vlog. For me, I recently rewatched the Thomas Crowne Affair reboot (much of which is set in NYC's Metropolitan), staring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. I'm reading too but lots of boring stuff - take care, and have a good trip!

Glad you are enjoying you Kindle. I had one for a while. I got it right before I went to Europe, but I like reading physical books to much to enjoy it. I kept it until a few months ago when I moved back home and it promptly died. Then I replaced every kindle book I had with a physical. Can't say I miss it.
I know this is random, but I’d love to know how you make your hair look so good. I have the same hair as you but I struggle with what products and routines to do to maintain presentable curls. 😊
I've seen Stacey Kent a few times live, her voice live is even better. If you ever get the chance to see one of ber shows I would definitely recommend it.

Here's a tip for deterring mosquitos that I came across recently on another channel. Make your own vanilla essence, using real Madascan vanilla. Don't buy it ready made. Spray it over you. Haven't tried it, but it sounds like it might work. Love your channel!
