SM64DS romhack that adds new characters
Doesn't add Waluigi, despite him being basically the "SM64 Luigi" of 64DS.

You’re forgetting the control issue. Unlike the N64 version, DS doesn’t have an analog stick. Super Mario 64 was designed with the potential of the analog stick in mind.
Everyone's complaining about the lack of Waluigi and I'm just sitting here wishing the music incorporated the SMB2 overworld theme since it also incorporates the overworld themes of 1, 3, and World.

When the game started development, it started as a Mario game. When Fuji TV wanted to do a collaboration, Nintendo reworked that Mario project into Doki Doki Panic.
When Mario 2 (Lost Levels) was rejected in America, Nintendo reworked Doki Doki Panic back into a Mario game.

Interestingly enough, Peach was originally supposed to be playable in the original Mario 64 DS, and animations for her running, jumping, and others exist in the data, but unused. This was later saved for Super Mario 3D World later on, where Peach first was playable in a 3D game (platformer)

This is legit what I want from a 3D Mario game, a more sandbox type of 3D platformer like 64 or Odyssey that features different characters with different abilities

Honestly, I’d rather Nintendo just make separate sandbox 3D platformers for different characters.
Mario has his “Super Mario” adventures.
Luigi has his Luigi’s Mansion series.
Wario has “Wario World,” and should build from that (especially since that game was terrible but can be improvised further).
Yoshi and Peach need to come up with something and do it fast. Fans are already playing Captain Toad Treasure Tracker more and more.
According to the the Cutting Room Floor; "Peach also has animations for running, being idle, and jumping, possibly indicating a scrapped playable role." Those unused animations couldn't be in this video, minus the idle, could they?

I misread the title as “All 256 Characters”, but was not disappointed because this romhack looks amazing.
I like super mario 64 ds way more than the original. I really only liked the original because of the wing cap and since I could hack and make levels of it.

I got kidnapped by Bowser,
and Yoshi will rescues Mario, Luigi, Wario, Toad, and me.
Edit: 1st: Yoshi, 2nd: Mario, 3rd: Luigi, 4th: Wario, 5th: Toad, and 6th: Princess Peach. (Oh, that’s me!)
But Peach has already some animations that were unused in the original final game.

This is a really impressive hack, but it triggers me so hard that Toade's jacket is blue when I literally saw Yoshi walk past 2 other Toads whose head colours matched their jackets, it also triggers me a little that all the green Toads have a blue jacket.

That Yellow Toad is cursed. It just looks so... wrong. Toad has red cap, blue vest (with the exception of some recent games); Red Toad has red cap, red vest; Blue Toad has blue cap, blue vest; etc. No Toad besides the main red one has ever mismatched vest and cap colors. Seeing this makes me... uneasy....
