As a US Muslim having lived in Malaysia for a year and Thailand for 2 years. I would also love to have a 2nd home in Malaysia, that something I will work towards now. You guys are on the right track.
Hi can I ask what was the main differences between Thailand and Malaysia. We are from Uk and thinking of moving - we have visited Thailand few times and going Malaysia this summer.
@@maynazpurnell2285 Thailand the currency conversion is in your favor compared to Malaysia given that you will have British Pounds. However, in Malaysia property is cheaper than in Thailand. Malaysia is predominantly Muslim so access to Masjid, halal food options, Muslim environment is more so than Thailand. Though in Thailand you can find halal food, masjid, and Muslim community but its not comparable to Malaysia. It also depends on your situation, if your income will allow you to be remote then a smaller city in south Thailand where there is a lot of Muslims might be better in terms of being cheap, but if you want to live in a big Muslim City then Malaysia might be better. Question to my Muslims neighbors out there, are the prayer times set times for each day or is it just compulsory? I hope I worded that correctly and respectfully.
Thank you for asking. There is a period of the day when we can pray each of fife obligatory prayers. For example, the morning prayer (Fajr) can be performed from the very early break of morning until the sunrise. The time will depend on your location as the time of sunrise differ. It is best to preform rituals prayers (namaz) at the beginning of the designated time (that is when athan, a call for prayer, is heard from the mosques). There are also non-ritual prayers (duas), when you plain ask God for whatever you want in your own language. Those can be done whenever you feel like. You are always welcome to ask any Muslim! There are no bad or insulting questions, as long as insult is not intended. Even then we must answer politely. 😊
@@val80156 thanks for answering!! I love learning about different religions etc. I knew about the call to prayers but never about the rest of them. I figured there was more. Again I hope that was worded respectfully. Like I said, I’m learning. 🩷
@@MadMadamGrimmthere are 5 compulsory prayers but to a non Muslim they’re more like 5 compulsory worships. And then what is called “dua” is a prayer in which you can do at anytime and in any state and just talk to god or ask what you need, etc. Dua is more closely aligned to what people would call regular prayer in other faiths.
While you’re in that part of the world Sana you should take your family to Pakistan so your kids can see where they’re from and see any relatives if you have any there! Having your kids experience their ethnic countries I feel like to me is extremely important in helping them really connect with the culture. And then one day after visiting Pakistan you should take them to England, Ireland, Finland, Spain, and Portugal to see Will’s four-five ethnic countries (Idk if he’s Spanish, Portuguese, or both so I said 4-5 countries) :)
ASA. You two mentioned mental clarity. I think the woke culture and the social division in the west bothers me the most right now. Almost all of the people I watch mention the social harmony and how nice people are in Malaysia. Also the fruits and vegetables here are all GMO, unless you pay a premium for "organic." 20 years ago everything ORGANIC. Thanks for your video.
Thanks for sharing about GMO..not quite sure how many percentage fruits & vegetables here were GMO products. So far M’sia only mentioned total of 14 GM for maze/ corn & soybean (used for food, feed & processing purposes) but we should concern more about pesticides, fertilizers (for plants) & feeds (for animal consumption). Any soybean & corn products from US should be avoided ofc.. perhaps the best answer is to produce locally (organic) with restriction on any GMO materials 😢

My advice to you, when you come and visit Malaysia, to eat, make sure the COOK is Malay (not Bangla, filipino, myanmar). The mamak stall is ok
Enjoy your videos. I was just wondering, do you need to buy a property with the Sarawak MM2H visa? I understand this is a requirement for the MM2H V,isa. Nice to see another Canadian interested in moving to Malaysia. 😢 Thank you so much.
There is freedom of movement in Canada and hopefully you will convince more to move to Malaysia and give them what they lost in Canada. Take Singapore Airlines for the trip there.
Very good to see you left Canada.
And hope you never come back - Canada is a woke dump but will be far better without you people. What is this Will guy's background - treasonable.
@@brumman2623”woke dump” oof so many hurt feelings😂😂😂
Posibility live in Canada during the spring and summer and in winter season spend 6 months elsewhere
God bless you and your family.
MaShaAllah
Assalam O Aalaikum, thank you for the video. Please do a QnA video...
Its called "Roti Telur Goyang". Roti means the Paratha u mentioned. So there are many types of Roti; Telur (Egg), Bawang (Onion), Pisang (Banana), etc. If u just order Roti Telur, they'll just give Roti that are already mixed with Egg before they cook it. If u want them to pop the Egg on top of it, u need to order "Roti Telur Goyang". Telur Goyang means "shaking Egg", hahaha.
Do a meet and greet once you're back in Malaysia 🤗
Absolutely!
Abu Dhabi is a nice place to live for families.
I live in the uk id love a hot sunny gorgeous country lile malaysia god bless you alhamduilla❤
Not everything is GMO, but everything is definitely poisoned.
@@val80156not everything is poisoned. We buy our eggs straight from a neighbors homestead and meat straight from a farm. If you know where to shop you will be fine.
Can’t explain “woke culture” huh 😂😂
Hopefully you could share yr vlog on holiday in Terengganu....
Do you get to celebrate Eid Fitr in Malaysia. Attending open houses .. experience how Malaysian celebrate Eid Fitr the whole month of Syawal.
whats the final verdict ? you guys moving there ?
I am complete opposite of you guys. I suffer with SUMMER Seasonal Affective Disorder. I live in Florida, so it is definitely a long, miserable 8 months or so. Pretty much the same symptoms as the winter version.
😂your Florida winter ain’t real winter!!!🤣😂
We invite you to come and live in Indonesia
Looking to relocate. Assistance, feedback is appreciated

Heard you left Khanada....hope the door didn't hit you on the way out.....take all your friends and family too.......BUH BHYEEEE!!!!!
Yes we Canada!
Why did you say you can’t leave Malaysia for a week and come back? How far apart does your next trip needs to be for them to let you in the country again?
That breakfast is called roti telur, some even called it roti sarang burung.
Hi guys, I live in Scotland (was born here too).
I’m pale skinned and freckled so I CANNOT stand the heat 🥵
I’m definitely one of those that prefer colder months but I totally agree about the vitamin D deficiency.
If i could, I’d spend my summers in Antarctica lol so I completely sympathise with you not enjoying the colder conditions in Canada, literally polar opposites. Xx
The vit d level depends on many factors which leads to high deficits even in hot countries
Great podcast 👍. How does the cost of living in Malaysia compare to Canada? As someone living in the UK, I am always curious to know how other countries compare when shopping for food and paying the bills?
UK YT Saira Hayati who has moved here has chronicled her experiences including groceries shopping in Malaysia and the financial costs to move here.
Assalamualaikum. My son does the same thing when we take him to the barber. I have to hold him to get his hair cut. He is 2 years old.
Make a video about the malls there. Thanks
Where did u stay in KL during your discovery trip which short rental apartment?
Nice video. So you’re not staying in Maylasia?
We would be very glad if someone is actually willing to teach you, your wife and your children Bahasa Melayu... And if you had another child right after your entire family has become permanent citizens, he or she will take Malaysian citizenship!
It is not easy to get Malaysian citizenship if one of you not a Malaysia.
the only way is get permit for permanent resident
@@munir89it's super easy if you are Indonesian. Malaysian gov loves the indons

What were some of the cons of living there? I know you said a lot of positive stuff. Were there any cons?

For good

Malaysia are not for everyone. Just like any other countries. It's all about experience. I like america for it's ecosystem but not the goverment. I don't know about canada though.
Canada is very cold
Any country is not for everyone.
I don't like America (USA) eventhough i have lived there once upon a time. Canada? Been there for 4 days. Almost the same as America in my opinion.
Totally agree with you. Last year i visited Malaysia. It was a country i always dreamt of visiting as my maternal forefathers are originally Malay. Coming from Cape Town South Africa which is a minority muslim country i was super super excited to immerse myself in a majority Muslim community. Wow what a disappointment it was for me and my kids. We found the people to be extremely unfriendly, avoided eye contact when you tried to be friendly. Even at the masjied it was the non Malay people who were more welcoming. I found the older men extremely chauvinistic and it seemed that the wives needed their approval to be friendly towards us. Sadly I don’t think i would ever consider visiting there again.

If you have the wealth to bounce around between Dubai Canada and Malaysia and according to your videos you do, plane fare for a family of five is no laughing matter just apply for the Malaysia as a 2nd home program or tell us if that is in progress?
We have said we have something in process many times. Dubai is our stopover for Canada. Is that a problem?
better in Malaysia
