Well done! Thanks for the inspiration. Try adding a small piece of thick plastic or some grease inbetween the 2x4 that moves for steering and the solid frame, that might help the steering glide better.
this is literally the type of video I have been looking for for about 2 days now. just a simple wooden go cart but not that simple. something I could make at home. I have no metal working tools so wood is the material I can use. I'm only 14 but I still really want to build something like this. thank you for making this video and keep up the good work. I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers.
Vet Ej yeah it went pretty well, I made my own steering column different to the video, I have high hopes for all the people who want to make this. It’s really simple and fun to make and a great finishing build to ride around on. Good luck👍
Usernamehere Nice! How fast did it go and how did you do the steering column? And do you have any tips for me before building the go kart. Lots of questions btw lmao
this is literally perfect. this has been a ongoing project from summer 2 years ago, couldn't afford metal with alounce money lol. thank you. going to the store in a few hours. I'm only 14 so I'm going to need a ride there, hopefully not when I build this.
I am going to make this type of speering that you have for your go kart, i have been trying to make steering for mine but it didnt work, but now i see yours and i realize i could make it as well! I have evrrything i need to make it too, and all the space!
I’m using a predator 212 cc engine and it worked honestly way better than I expected. Top speed is like 50 miles an hour when you’re going uphill you can go around like 30 miles an hour. The acceleration is a little slow but it gets up to speed very quickly.
Jason, steering looks ingenious but you say the steering didn't work too well - how did you / would you perfect it? Really would appreciate a reply as it's a great looking kart. Thanks.
@@jasonolbinski9333 looks like there'd be some delay between when you start steering and when the car does with how loose those metal hoops are on the eyelet screw. Maybe a thicker screw in place of the eyelet, or a bushing and metal washer
Awesome is right! A great deal of thought and planning went into the making of this kart. Excellent craftsmanship Jason. Well done! Andy 🇨🇦
Great job! Would love to see a material list if you had one.

I’m building a go kart out of wood myself was looking for a steering system and I think this is an awesome design. thanks this helped a lot!
Same
How did it go
@@jacobramirez4894 they are still working on it
That’s Freaken legit awesome. When I was 11, I remember having help from my neighbor building a go kart like that.
I am 11 right now and O plan to build one too!

People underestimate the strength of wood
Exactly
@@jasonolbinski9333 1 inch thick plywood does real good for the floor of my wooden go kart. By the way i like your kart.
Planes were made from wood years ago even the engine was wood.

Thanks for the awesome video! I plan to build a gravity powered version and this is a great design starter.

Have you done it? I’m also 14 years old and I want to make a go kart. How did it went for you?????

Thanks for showing! I am trying to build a go kart and I can't weld so this is very handy! I subbed!!!
Impressive build!
And how was the steering so smooth what did you put in it to make it so smooth by the way very good job 🎉🎉

do you have a materials list? I want to build something like this with my dad.
I don’t have a dad

Sensacional. Parabéns!

How exactly did you bolt the pedals onto the frame?
i had those same front wheels from harbor freight they will come apart break if you use on street .. almost got hurt..
very good, very good. it gives me more inspiration towards building my wood mini snowmobile.
thats awesome looking gokart. several people asked parts. can you list the parts please
Very cool! Did you apply any adhesive? That's the first thing that came to mind when coming to mind of building a wood GoKart.
No glue at all
