I haven't tested SuperSU in months because the original developer sold it to some Chinese company. So not only do I not trust it. . .I don't even know if it's been kept up to date. I only recommend Magisk version 17.1 for the Redmi Note 7 right now

After installing the rom they need to connect to a wifi hotspot that is using a VPN in order to connect to Google while it is searching for updates during the setup process. Then turn it off if they are going to connect their xiaomi account to it. As my phone is locked to my xiaomi id nobody will be able to use my phone. Something similar to iphone id lock. So, first connect your id with local wifi or your phone data. Then, connect to a wifi hotspot using a vpn on their phone or pc. Mine was connected to a phone hotspot with a vpn on. Thanks again.
I have one problem..I can't find the magisk zip with twrp when it is stored in the internal storage. When I move it to the SD card, twrp finds it, but it doesn't install, I assume because of the SD. When I try to move from SD to internal with twrp, there is an error and it doesn't move. When I try to move it with the file manager, it does move, but then it's not accessible from twrp. How can I get to the zip? That's the only step I'm missing

I flashed with "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" but next when I press and hold both the Power and Volume Up buttons at the same time the phone don't boot on TWRP recovery mod, I don't feel vibrate my phone, I just have the "Redmi" loading without end and if I force recovery with adb reboot recovery it's the basic MIUI recovery mode. Any idea ? Thanks in advance :)

Yea, I'm trying to talk to the developer of Magisk to get 18.x working (which would allow v7 of the manager to work properly). If you follow the link in the tutorial on my website then it would have linked you to v6 and v17.1 I haven't had any issue with the TWRP that I suggest to install on my website at www.AndroidExplained.com
Yes, you have to wait 15 days before the bootloader is unlocked. The bootloader is piece of program that prevents unofficial mods from being installed (aka root). So you need to unlock the bootloader before you can root the phone

TWRP didn't overwrite stock recovery on my global version Redmi Note 7. Bummer...
did you install Magisk (v19+) or a DM Verity ZIP after flashing and boot into TWRP?
