Glad you enjoyed it! Yes definitely worth the wait.. probably won’t see another like that for a while but il do my best to try! Thanks for checking out the video buddy!
More to come for sure matey just mixing it up a little between shore fishing and on the Kayak. Thanks for checking out the video matey it’s really appreciated!
Really glad you enjoyed it matey. I probably won’t find another chunky one like that for a while so you’ll have to watch me catching tiddlers in the next uploads lol. Thanks again for checking out the video bud!
You are a great person worth to be called a human. I wish I could say the same for me. Mullets are beautiful and gentle fish. Not violent at all. Beautiful to see them frolic in the shallows or browse on the sand and rocks. The most thrilling moment of your video was when you released him in the water. Fish this size usually go in couples. His mate would probably be waiting for him. I caught one similar yesterday, but kept it to fill my bloody belly. Every time I released a fish in the past, I was so happy when I came back home. Today I am sad and going to eat mullet tomorrow. Well done man.
Yes sometimes when the water is very clear I have to use much lighter tackle. I have a 17ft mullet rod which I haven’t used much but will try next time perhaps. Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated.
One of the best videos i have ever watched, the fight is beauuutiful, the best fighting fish are these and the dusky rabbitfish, they fight like monsters for their small size
Hey! Thanks for the great feedback im glad you enjoyed the video. I will be back out soon for more filming! Thanks again for watching its much appreciated!
You should give it a bash matey ! youl catch them on most the cliff marks out west, the beaches too but a nice east one would be to try greve de lecq pier when it’s quiet.
Nice fish, looked a similar size to my pb . Mine was weighed and it came out at 7lb 2oz so could have been bigger than you thought.lovely fish and a great video.
Oh wow that’s a big fish that matey I bet you were well chuffed with that one! so I showed my mate who does a lot more mullet fishing than I do and he said he thought it looked over 6lbs! I’m definitely weighing them from now on lol! Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated!
Thanks Simon I’m glad you enjoyed it. I think I will do a little bit of ledgering from the beaches soon which will be quiet fun as I actually haven’t done it that much. Whilst the wind is down at the moment I’m going to be trying to get my fly casting back to scratch it’s a little rusty as I found out this morning lol… it’s been 2 years! Thanks again for watching .. ledgering video on the way!
ive been thinking to target mullet for years but still never got round to it... i think ive been put off by tales of how long you have to wait for a bite and how finicky they are
Thanks bud. Yeah it’s a nice place to fish from in the summer months although it’s not exactly very scenic it can throw up some half decent sized fish from time to time. Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated!
Only six minutes in, so other than the pics on FB, I've not seen you catch the beast yet! Just wondering how you select a mullet mark, Sam? Also, was chatting to a fishing mate at work t'other day, and how crap bread can be at staying on the hook. His solution? Mix your hook bait with a bit of cotton wool. Not sure how well it'd work, but it sounded pretty genius at the time.
The harbour areas are usually pretty stocked with mullet matey other than that fishing from piers or beaches whilst not mulleting and seeing them swimming about means it’s probably worth a shot. On the bread side of things I like the warbottuns thick or medium sliced.. you shouldn’t have issues with a fresh loaf matey.
Usually anywhere between 3ft - 12ft matey. it all depends on where the fish are feeding and how deep the water is. majority of the time I can’t see the fish when I’m getting bites. Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated!
0.10 diameter I believe would be about 8lbs or 9kg breaking strain.. that would be absolutely fine for your hook length line for sure! you don’t need to have Fluor on the reel you can just use normal mono for that buddy try not to go heavier than 12lbs on the mainline or it will catch the wind a fair bit… I hope that helps matey. best of luck if you give it a try!
@@martinristic6377 hahaha be lucky, you never know in warmer waters what will attack your hooked fish reeling in, barracuda often go for a hooked fish going for its life in a fight. all of a sudden, you have 12kg's of crazy just swallowed your catch and now on trying to get free. hahaha good day, go get one. (all passengers allowed come buy a ticket mr barracuda)...😀
@@FISHISLANDTV @FISHISLANDTV i respected you so much, each life is so important, i put a perch back in 1995 (harnham mill race salisbury wiltshire, the pic is in the angling times somewhere jeremy wade commented at the time) that caused a stir in the angling times, it was possibly the first 6 pound perch ever caught, but, like you i took a photo and put him back, he was so old i didn't dare keep him a second lomger, he came out i unhooked him ,grabbed the camera, took a photo and put him back. it was adjudjed to be 18 inches long and as hunchbacked as the hunchback of notredamme. they say by scientific means, definitely over 6 pound and possibly approaching 8. you are a good man, blessing be from heaven everytime you fish. beautiful being. sorry for the long reply, but i wanted you to know how i felt seeing you release such a creator of the future of that species, and, how many of us feel as fishermen and fisherwomen ;looking after the future of the species we catch. be gentle, and return, the moment matters between you and a victim, get them back with an apology, without killing them.
Brilliant Sam!!!
Worth the wait eh!
Great video.

What a mullet!!
In my country we use 7/8 m rods, 1 g float and very tiny mono, they eat only in this way!
Yes sometimes when the water is very clear I have to use much lighter tackle.

Can i fish mullet on 0.10 fluro line?

@FISH ISLAND TV i have mono 0.25 on main line, on second i have 0.10 fluro
