I've noticed all the children love your presence, the attention you've given them is encouraging and a symbol of a different life, different people, a true sign of hope, you've inspired them brother.
I stumbled across your videos by accident and now I’m hooked keep up the great videos very informative be grateful for what you have not what you don’t
what a great way to see and experience a city. I am today 57 yrs of age only saw this territory in 1989 during training as a teacher. So does many people who live in other townships. I will lost in that area today.
50:43 I definitely enjoyed the joy from the locals it’s definitely good ppl out there I’m visiting in March if it’s any advice please lay it on Chris 🙏🏾
I have lived in JHB CBD for one year I can tell you as a white guy it does get dangerous at times. It's very fast paced, good vibes sometimes but often times you get targeted as a white person. I got robbed 6 times, saw 2 people get shot, seen people getting driven over and people getting mob justice. To be honest I haven't fully recovered yet. Now granted my experience in the city wasn't good .
Wow chris you are amazing, im south Africans , but i play far away from that place as i can , but believe me when i say Hilbrow used to be beautiful when we were young , im in my 60's but our gov is respondibke fir what jhb has become, love your content, and came across your videos because of your recent trip to Nyabohanse
I appreciate that very much Ryan. One day soon I will be in San Diego and please follow me on instagram @chrismustlist. Then when I'm in your city, send me a message. I'd love to see your ralicart.

I hope to meet u one day when you are back home ,
Well I feel like your very brave very much. I been to South Africa and I dare my friends to go there they never been somewhere like SA in their life. Me and you are a different breed we survivors 💪
Holy Shit! That "ponti" building at the beginning of your movie is the exact same place as the ending scene of that movie Brazil (1985) Directed by Terry Gilliam! It's actually a real place, unbelievable
It’s refreshing seeing tourists not just going to sandton or Cape Town 😂 But @ the same time, we are afraid when tourists go to places like this & are robbed or murdered. South Africans will carry the blame no matter who committed the crime. So even though you are brave, we don’t encourage tourists to go to places where the crime is so high & it’s so dangerous. We’ll rather send you to Soweto to experience our own indigenous cultures & learn about our rich albeit sad history.
I watch videos of Johannesburg several times a month and there are rich and mid. class suburbs. There is also a dangers settlement where the people lives in shacks near one of the suburbs.
@@ChrisMustListeven us as South Africans - majority of us will never walk there! We are even afraid of driving through there. You are really brave & thank you for showing us our own country.
No but seriously, this isn’t Germany. It’s South Africa. It got the name because of the Dutch colonizers from wayyy back. And dutch is similar to German. But I must say Philip Germany does not look like this.
@christ must list seeing this now from zimbabwe here, we have all shops in southafrica its just that they have cheap quality products which are resold here on the streets, that driver doesnt have information. Come to zimbabwe and see quality of life is high and no crime or gangs, only dangerous place is in remote bushes
How many southAfrica thinks is mind-boggling...to them their black fellow Africans are nuisance but when Apartheid was happening they were shouting Ubuntu...education is key
From the taxi driver's conversation you can tell how the xenophobic mentality is deeply rooted in South Africans mind. The guy is literally heaping all the ills of their incompetence on other blacks.
@@vietkong1 What about heroin addicts on the streets of Los Angeles and New York? Drug addicts are present in all countries, rich or poor because anyone can fall into depression.
Or walk around and accuse everyone of wanting to rob them or following them or druging them and I’m gonna call a name because I don’t like him. He did the same thing in Jamaica I was highly offended not saying we don’t have those people or those people are not around and everywhere but damn dude every single video EVERY. I don't agree with some of the statements your driver made. Why blaming other foreigners? South africans forget that they once lived in neighboring countries when they had apartheid .Why hate on your fellow agricans just because they are doing better than you in your own country?
Resembles a lot of cities in the states. Belize was horrible as far as infrastructure but this was commentated as if it was the worse place you’ve seen. Have you been to the BRONX??
Chris u must understand one thing that people like that u met 24:45 . Problem with them is not that they don't get job the problem is they don't do job with dedication and honesty they often are caught stealing , not coming to work on time , lot of stay absent most of the time, they always work slow and demand high wages and salary . They will never tell u all that because it's the reality . They will always blame the foreigners for taking the their deserving job. Even the employer prefers to employ foreigners because they are very honest and hardworking and very very dedicated towards their work and demand less wages and salary. I am telling u from experience i have lived and worked in South africa for 12 years so you can trust me .
Tough call. I was once homeless, and now I'm a self made multi millionaire. When I was on the street 30+ years ago, its because I didn't have a family to help me. Not everyone collecting cans on the street in South Africa or anywhere in the world is a bad person. Victim of circumstances plays a role. That being said, we as humans can never judge someone until we really understand their situation. I also own a business here in Toronto with many employees, and I see some are motivated to work, and others show up late, miss days, etc. So this is a common occurrence across the globe! Thank you for your comment and watching today's video.
What a load of racist hogwash. Employers choose to hire foreigners because of CHEAP LABOR. Most foreigners don't have legal documents and are desperate to find a job, which makes them attractive to employers because they can be easily exploited (paid peanuts but work long hours).
I can't believe you're peddling dangerous racist stereotypes and falsely portraying black South Africans as lazy criminals. We will never heal from the wounds of Apartheid if we still have backward individuals such as yourself.
