An unbelievable warm sound in a brutalist industrial setting. Like a friendly spirit soothing a troubled soul. Extraordinarily beautiful. Fantastic execution of a classic work. ❤❤❤❤❤ Wish this was available on CD.
Thank you so much!
This version has a unique sense of urgency through the quickly fluttering sax notes, gorgeous rendition of one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Thanks a lot for your feedback & appreciation 🙏🏼
@@multiphonicquartett no, thank YOU for creating this beautiful version of a timeless song!
this video is such a hidden gem. i come back to this often. thank you
Thanks a lot for your great feedback! Always happy to hear that :)
Feel free to also share with friends and family to make it an unhidden gem 😁
Exactly like me!!
Same
This concrete temple makes synergy with this music!
I love this video. Not only music, but also video.
Thank you! This location is simply amazing.
A minimalist's visual and aural dream!
Thanks a lot!
This is fantastic. With saxes, it gives this piece a different perspective,
like the fluttering of wings of doves...
Very happy to hear that!
Besides original literature for classical saxophone quartet, we really enjoy adapting string quartets due to the broad variety and the amount of literature to pick from.
I know my comment is very late but i would just like to point out that, without bob’s burgers i wouldn’t have looked up this transcendently wonderful heartstring tugging otherworldly music, truly a gem to behold for years to come. This piece is just very mesmerizing and moving to the highest degree, i have no qualms with this. The team behind this and the composer, all indeed deserved all the new found recognition and appreciation they’re getting from new audiences all over the world. Brilliant and immaculate performance, not to mention beautifully well executed in all other aspects. Everybody that was part of making this mellifluous music, has produced a very prodigious and phenomenal piece. This was the most exceptional music my ears have ever experienced. Very well done indeed. ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ 👏
Well said, i 100% agree and also more people should hear this. This song can very well invoke world peace.
i know right? This performance overall was just so harmonious and truly heavenly.
Thanks a lot for your appreciation! We are glad to hear that you’re enjoying our music so much 😊
The Truman Show got me on Philip Glass's music. I've been a huge fan ever since.
Oh WOW! Bravo everyone. Never heard the sax played like that ever, but I love it.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate 😊
This is just absolutely beautiful. It's such a transcendental piece. Loved this rendition and the cinematography.
Thank you so much Daniel! Glad to hear that :)
This is great
More like the closing of Runaway Horses but yeah, great
made an arrangement of this for my university quartet and played it at a concert; it was a ton of fun and hopefully equally as gorgeous as this performance!
That setting is perfect for the music really
Thank you. We also really loved playing there!
@@multiphonicquartett stunning performance too , keep going
I feel as if I am listening to the ebb and flow of the entire universe.
Happy to hear that you are enjoying our music so much! Thanks a lot! 🙌🏼
That space is other worldly
No words to describe it. Thank you!
Thanks a lot Bruno!
ETALLONIC performance of this Masterpiece.
I'm overwhelmed by the depth of your interpretation.
Thank you so much! Very much appreciated 🙌🏼
Beautifull played by the mucisions and great camerawork. They are really tuned. That makes it to a grand performance.
Thank you so much!
Something about it makes me tear up
Beyond. Words. Wow.
Thank you so much! 🙌🏼
The fire extinguisher.
Last night I heard a lecture on Nadia Boulanger and her influence on Glass' counterpoint. Case exhibit no. 1
This is breathtaking. I do hope you all have an album with the full Mishima suite on it!
Thank you Jason!
There will be some more videos of other Mishima movements coming in a couple of months…🎬
But we also plan to record an album at some point in time!
300, bitches! Should be 3M - amazing piece, performance, and video. Edit...we're now at 2.2K!
Thanks for your feedback! Happy to hear that 🙏🏼
Beautifully played and shot.
Thanks a lot!
C'est une caresse pour l'âme. Magnifique.
Merci beaucoup!
As an amateur on the saxophone, I find this is truly amazing and inspiring. It's known by some that with enough skill, almost any sound can be wrought from a saxophone, but here you are actually doing it. An incredible demonstration of dedication and ability!
Thank you so much, we appreciate it! 🙌🏼
Just love this thanking Phillip glass
Unglaublich schön! 😍
Good music and a good burger
Thanks!
i just noticed if you listen closely you can hear the key fingerings and i love it
Very nice. I love this arrangement, and the location is perfect.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
FANTASTIC !!!
Thank you a lot 🙌🏼

That music matches splendidly the beautiful history of Yukio Mishima and his personal struggle wanting to keeping alive the japanese spirit.
Thanks for your comment! Great to hear that you enjoy our video :)
Beautiful. Stunning. Thank you.

How delightful, thanks a lot 🐾🌞☮️
Thank you!
Brilliant!
Thanks!
Fantastic! Thank you so much.
Thank you!
@@multiphonicquartett you’re very very welcome. I came back to listen again and you have a spectacular gift for the dynamics of the piece, large and small. So much of Glass is in those wiggling slow swells. I’d love to see you look at Martynov or Pärt or, of course, more Glass! Thank you, again!
oh my, this is special.
Thank you!
Wow, that was really great.
Thanks João!
Wunderschön!!!! 😍🙏🏻
Das freut uns sehr zu hören! 😊

Incroyable. Superbe adaptation dans un décor quasi Koyaanisqatsien
Thanks for your acknowledgment!
Valla música más hermosa y perfecta!! 👏👏
Thank you a lot 🙌🏼
Una obra musical digna para el gran Mishima. Gracias
Gracias 🙌🏼
This soundtrack rips
Thanks!
1:16 so lovely
Thanks!
Incrível
Thank you!
wow
Beautiful... Maybe this version allows for a different kind of resonance than the strings? Appreciate opportunity for enhanced articulation, which doesn't absolve the phrasing that was otherwise conveyed by strings, but brings about a new dimension for this piece. Nice filming.
Thanks for your feedback. Of course, the location has a big impact on the acoustics of this piece, so that articulation might sound way more reverberant than in other locations. Though we also think that it suits this piece well in this case. You are right, the video team did a fantastic job 💪🏼
👌👌👌👌👌👌
Nydelig utført!
Tusen takk!
toit 👌
👏👏👏👍🙋
😍🙏🏽
That is very yummy. Beautiful.
Wonder what the building used to be. Very nice performance
The location is in Essen, GER in the industrial park. Back then it was one of the biggest coal mining facility worldwide.
Thanks for your appreciation!

❤
any spotify lik to your work? amazing music!
Thank you so much! Unfortunately we do not have our music on Spotify yet, but will upload some as soon as our planned CD recordings will be finished.
Can someone help me understand y this song makes me cry every time I hear it? Even on the xylophone in Bob's Burgers
An absolutely lovely take on this bit from the fantastic mishima suite. Just a practical question; what are the copyright protocols for covering a piece of glass' work? And could one potentially source re-recordings for films?
Thanks for your feedback! To our state of knowledge there aren’t an specific copyright protocols for covering a piece of Glass. Regarding your second question let’s discuss that privately. In case you have instagram you can DM us there. Link in description :) Otherwise feel free to contact us via mail.
Thank you very much for the beautiful music ❤
By the way, can we know the model of the music stand for iPad? Thanks a ton!
Thanks for your compliment 🙌🏼
The iPad stand is from K&M.
@@multiphonicquartett thanks a lot!
Looking forward to more of your music!
Bobs Burgers bought me here ❤️
That’s a funny correlation 😅 we hope you enjoyed it!
@@multiphonicquartett the piece was diagetically featured in the latest episode. So now every dipshit with a need to christopher columbus about it commenting about it.
@Uosdwis R Dewoh
Okay I see, thanks for clarifying! Let’s see if some more Bobs Burgers viewers see our video then 😁
@@uosdwisrdewoh418 I don't know why you're being so negative about it, isn't it good that this performance is getting more recognition?
@@uosdwisrdewoh418 Relax friend.. we thought it was beautiful and moving.. We loved the episode of bob's burgers but came here to hear the beautiful piece that they play. @Multiphonic Quartett just phenomenal... well done moved me to tears.
:o :DDD ❤❤❤❤
Where can I purchase this arrangement? thank you
This arrangement is not officially available via an online shop or similar. In case you have instagram, check out the account of christoph_enzel and leave him a message. He arranged it for sax quartet and you can purchase directly from him :)
Here from Bobs Burgers hehe
💿💿💿💿
We are planning an audio recording 💿
OH DIOS...DONDE FUE FILMADO?
It was filmed at Zeche Zollverein in Essen, Germany :)
Oh, wow ! How about November 25 Morning ? ;)
We definitely want to play some more works from Philip Glass. Minimal music is so great!
@@multiphonicquartett It's a greatttttt new!!!!. Bravo for your performance!!
May I use this piece for a short film? I am not looking to profit off it, I just love the music.
Sure go ahead, if you publish it pls give credits to us :)
:)
Well performed. I wonder what's the interior, is it some kind of grain storage? Acoustics must be interesting there.
Thanks a lot!
The location is Zeche Zollverein in Essen, Germany. It is something like an old coal processing factory, which is nowadays used for exhibitions, video and foto shootings etc. Acoustic was really interesting in there, of course rather reverberant.
This is a former coal storage bunker for the Cokeingplant Zollverein, where coal (which was produced by the nearby Coal Mine Zeche Zollverein) was proccessed and turned into Coal Coke. Impressive building which houses noumerous exhibits.
@@GiladPellaeon In operation, was this space hot and a reducing atmosphere?
@@b43xoitAs far as I know this was just a storage space where the mined coal from the nearby coal mine Zollverein was stored before it could be moved to the cokeing plant, that is nextdoor.
I prefer this one performed by strings... though it sounds interesting at certain parts.
those must be weird and difficult acoustics. Is this a performance space or am I being shown spectacle?
Indeed, the acoustics in this location are really difficult but manageable. It’s not a space for concerts etc, rather exhibitions and similar events.
This is a former coal storage bunker for the Cokeingplant Zollverein, where coal (which was produced by the nearby Coal Mine Zeche Zollverein) was proccessed and turned into Coal Coke. Impressive building which houses noumerous exhibits.
❤🫂♥️
Lovely sounding. One problen, I can hear the tapping of the sax keys which spoils it a little.
Thanks :)
Hearing the tapping of the keys is almost impossible to prevent.
Helps proves that the musicians are legit :)
How they do that?
What do you mean?
Circular breathing, maybe.
algo kommi
I like it a lot, but it's a little rushed feeling to me.
How is this 'minimal'? It has more soul and substance than 90% of other music..
That’s Philip Glass‘ type of composing. Just a very reduced amount harmonies to create such a magical atmosphere. But agreed - Mishima definitely has a lot of soul in it!
Too fast
Mishima was an extremist, a right wing extremist.
Sure , and Stalin was a loathsome bloodthirsty , disgusting, mass murdering communist. The more you know.
