if you don’t use VoiceOver, you can get the Be My AI output with Speak Selection or Speak Screen. Or you can touch the message and you’ll see ‘Copy.’
Also, if you have a photo stored, you can go to it, choose the Share option. You’ll see ‘Describe With Be My Eyes AI.’ You’ll get the same output.
Try it with cartoons (why not? 😆) It can often even explain the humor.
It’s handy to create alternative text for those of us who do that kind of thing.
Try doing things you might have done with a volunteer like throw keys down among other objects or on the floor. Then ask it where the keys are. Or go to food in a kitchen cupboard and ask it to find the oatmeal (or whatever).

My name is Diane and I live in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand. I am totally blind, so sight seeing is out of the question. But I got be my ai, and everything changed. I now look at views like everyone else. The first time I did this, I just burst into tears. It was so wonderful. I was also able to surprise my husband, by seeing something at the supper market that was on special.
This app is really useful. However, it's disappointing that chat history is not saved, and it's problematic that photos taken cannot be saved to the album. It would be great if a feature was added that saves photos to the album immediately after they are taken.
O...Didn't know that it doesn't save photos to album or gallery. Anyway, it's very useful.
I'm particularly keen to see this combined with Smart Glasses. I use Ampere Electro Chromic glasses to manage the light conditions which can make my vision even worse. The current glasses have build in speakers and a bluetooth connection to my phone, if a camera was added to this and app functionality you could enter a room, click a button and the AI would describe the scene to the wearer discreetly on the build in speakers. Great video btw, thanks for all you do to promote the Blind life.

I love this app! I also love the fact that you can ask more questions and in asking those questions you can also take another photo for them to analyze such as on a container trying to find the expiration date. I love your poem!
I actually enjoy it. I can’t even read my mail with it, and I also had tried it with actual human beans. it’s a little different to upload pictures from your albums to Be My Eyes so I can read it, but other than that I liked it. I’ve been using it for a couple months now. I’m happy with it.:47

This has definitely become a game changer, I love using it for describing anime pictures, witch OCR scaners like Seeing AI and others have always not been able to describe, so I'm often using Be my AI for those descriptions, specially in moments when friends send pictures of animated characters but don't inform you what it is. I love using it to describe areas in my house, I can't wait until the technology becomes better and better, at this point the robots have taken over lol.
Can we upload previously taken pictures too?

@@abdullahak2204 Yes, you have to tap on the share button for already taken photos, then when you scroll down you'll see an option that says describe with Be My AI. You don't even have to save the photos for this either.'
Be my AI is quite a powerful app for the likes of us. Thanks to the makers of this wonderful app. I'm downloading it to give it a try.
I can't wait until we can process images directly on the device. This will make this service much more useful. Aira says they are coming out with some kind of an AI service later this year.
Maybe we could see that in future. but for now, ai requires huge power to run huge resources needed for ai, if we were able to compressed this we can see this very soon

I’ve just been playing around with this for the first time and I pointed it at my refrigerator and it broke things down by what shelf they were on and where they were on on the shelf it was crazy and really useful!
Another great video. Can you get someone in your wheelhouse to answer all the questions in the Comments. Some of your viewers really need help by being pointed in the right direction. Also maybe you could do a video on how low vision people can find resources nationally, at the state level or locally especially in AT, Software etc. MA has tons of resources but some areas of the US may not etc.

I love seeing the old pictures I forgot about in my photo album. I was just wondering how I could label them so I don’t have to do this all the time. Also, if you got a picture, how do you send that to Facebook let’s say with the writing.
I love this feature of Be My Eyes and have been using it for a few weeks. I have only used it for photos I have on my camera role or that folks text to me. I have been able to enjoy memes, where as before, I wouldhave to wait to have someone else to show it to so they could explain it to me. I can tell you that if you receive photos of an adult nature from your special someone, the app will not describe it to you. Cool stuff!
how do you use it to discribe photos?? I only can analyze pictures I take. Please help?
.@@BG4life13 Hi there. Open a photo from your gallery. Click share. Scroll down and select Describe with Be My Eyes. It will then send you a text description as it does when you take a photo in app. I use an iPhone, so it may be different on Android. Enjoy!

how can you see to draw so well. I was an artist before mh sight got so bad. What kind of assistive technology do you know about for blind or low vsion artists?
Hello Sam love your channel and all you do for this community. I have lower vision and it is progressing. Quick question my grandson plays hockey which is hard for me to see. At the present time I use my iPad the feature as if I’m taking a picture. Magnify the screen hold and watch his game Do you know of a device that would be easier to use thanks.
Most of the wearable devices would work really well for that. I use the iris vision live and the patriot viewpoint. I have used them both to view my daughter on stage when she was doing theater in high school.
I was able to use this feature a few times during some O&M lessons but whenever I try to make an account on my own phone it doesn't work. I've already emailed support and heard nothing. It's been almost 2 months now. I suspect my phone is too old but why let me download it at all if that's the case? But it's still a really cool feature. I didn't know about the follow up questions tho that's new to me.

Can you recommend a trainer for AT in Jefferson County Ohio?
Call the Caroll Center in Newton, MA it’s in the app under Technical Support. They know most orgs in the country. They go to all the convention, seminars etc. I will bet they can put you in touch with AT Experts in your area. Also check out your best local university that trains optometrists as they have programs that train vision specialists some of which are doing AT. Mass College of Optometry trains people from all over the world. They may have contacts for you too,
Apple and Microsoft have dedicated teams that can help you too, Their Contact info is in the app under the support section. Good Luch‼️
When I launched Be My Eyes and selected this feature it said that I shouldn't use this feature with sensitive information, I thought that the purpose of this was so there was an option to have a way to read something that an un-paid un-trained agent would not have to read but when the AI is not as safe that is a big problem?
It would be nice if Be My AI had a feature where you could have it tell you if you have something entered in a way as if an actual agent was telling you to move the camera up or down or left or right? If you had an option to speak or type into a chat field you could tell it what you are trying to focus on and then it would start telling you where to point your phone camera?
It would be nice if you could not only take a pic but it would be nice if you could take a video? Along with this, it would be nice if you could save not only the pic and video but you could save your chat history so you can go back to what you did before if you want to revisit it for more questions?
I know that I have used both Aira and Be My Eyes and unfortunately, I don't have the money to use Aira so I have to use the Be My Eyes app. I wish that there were more services such as these two but it would be nice if there were more options because if there were more options we wouldn't be restricted and we could have a real choice?
It would be nice if health insurance would pay for plans on services such as Aira so you don't have to pay for it?
There are many organizations that my be able to assist you even with assistance even financially. Lots of them are listed in the app. Contact them and ask it doesn*t cost you anything to check it out.

Hi sam, I have the app on my iPhone and on my Braille Note. What is the name of the voice over that you are using? The sound is like a "Please hold" thing. The Braille Note is from Humanwear. It allows you to type in braille and do everything that can be done on a phone, I mean some apps might not be accessible on it.
I am currently using Siri VBoice 4 on my iPhone.

As for Shel Silverstein poems, first off, he wrote a lot of great country songs. But my favorite poem of his is one my daughter read to me in the third grade. It is called too many kids in the tub. My daughter read that with such emotion, that I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.
So one question I have for you. I’ve seen a guitar in the background of your videos before. I am still looking for an easy to use Guitar, tuner or tuner app that requires no vision whatsoever. It needs to be easy to use. Most of the ones that I have seen so far left a bit to be desired. The reason I want such an app is I have a great tuner app on my phone, but I cannot see my screen when I am outside. Any suggestions?
Well, I stoped using electronic tuners snd apps. Instead I’m using a tuning fork. Not only it works everywhere, it is cheap and also much better.
@@firstlast-gr9xs I tried doing that 40 years ago. It does not work better for me. Also I play four instruments. I have a mandolin that has eight strings. I have a 12 string acoustic. I’ve got a classical acoustic. I have a banjo and I have a dobro.there is no way to get an accurate fretting on the Dobro to tune in the next string so I still need something that tells me what the note is, but does it in an efficient method
I play 33 instruments, and use the App Talking Tuner on my iphone. I am totally blind so I use Voiceover. Vo
