Kinda cringe and pompous writing but if he improves the essays he should be golden

If he rewrites his entire app, he’ll get in for sure. Seems like a good guy.

If he rewrites his entire LIFE, he might get in. Dude would be a better model/f-boy/salesman than a doctor.

He’s going to need a major ego check if he wants to be successful next cycle

41:27, i agree with him on this one. we are presented with perfect packages and never see the struggles. i heard usain bolt say the same. people just watch the olympics and see him run fast and think it's easy, they don't see everything leading up to that race, the strict diet, the running, the weight training, the vomiting, etc. people didn't know michael phelps didn't miss a day of training for 4-5 years straight in order to achieve his goal to be the best swimmer. people know med school is a long time, but they don't know all the study hours put in and board exams passed. people listen to music, they don't really know the producer and engineer and vocalist didn't sleep for days trying to perfect the sound. society highlights the success

I feel like he didn't have that much clinical experience and shadowing either. Combined with the other activities and personal statement, I think the schools had some doubts he knew he really wanted medicine and most importantly, on his why like dr gray said

ironically, doctors tend to speak to patients as if the patient is a doctor. "are you still taking the barbiturates and benzodiazepines i prescribed?" patient lookin all confused.. but i agree with the sales assessment and confusing descriptions. at the same time, he has a 4.0, which means everyone has been praising his writing. 36:50, stereotypically indian, jewish, asian, nigerian*.

I also noticed his hours seem very inflated considering he didn’t include hours from his senior year, especially while maintaining a 4.0

Why do the very last 10 seconds of the video feel like another sales pitch

I thought this too, it seemed at the end he was trying to sell himself to Dr. Gray on why he still wants to be a doctor lol. I wish him luck on the next cycle! 🤞🏾he seems like a smart guy.

@@ayomideogunsakin5143 He is Asian. The Asian average is 514. Yes, 509 is low and held him back

I agree it’s not an awesome MCAT, it may have limited him a little, and he should consider a retake. But to the extent that it held him back more than his written items? No way- that stuff really needs to be re-written. Difficult to listen to

I’ve seen lots of people get in with a 509, it’s definitely not the MCAT especially since his 4.0 is great on its own. His essays/writing is likely what held him back
