    I am 76 and I have just discovered this piece of music
    Thank you so much for writing it
    And to those dear people who went you are amazing and so brave - thank you so much more
    Why do still have to have war?
    I mean the human race has evolved so much especially in the last 100 years
    Why can’t we settle our political differences by just communicating not confronting?

    • @billywayne902
      @billywayne902 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why ? There’s evil beings it’s not the person it’s the thing that made a home in them. Lucifer has been here Sense the beginning. We are in school. Here on earth we are in it not from it. Life is eternal. We are Energy. Energy never burns out or fade out it continues. War is part of people being in a fallen state. I wish you well.

    I was there at the age of 19. I was extremely fortunate, not a grunt and never humped it in the jungle. Still I have from PTSD and consider myself extremely blessed to be alive. God bless those troops that never made it back.

    • @Wushu-viking
      @Wushu-viking 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't blame you guys for PTSD. You never knew what your fought for. That f*ck you up. In wars you fight to either protect Your territory or to expand it. Korea and Vietnam were Political Wars (Capitalists vs Communists), that was what is was. The USA were never threatened. The politicians should fight their own battles on the field - Cowards!! Who can blame the natives for defending their territory? If you gonna invade, you need a valid reason to invade (to claim land for your own expansion).

    I joined the US Army 1976 and was in after the war. I saw the effects of the Vietnam war on my fellow soldiers. They came back to hatred and protests. Disillusioned about their reason for being there. They fought tough battels and watch many of their brothers die. Vietnam veterans I salute you and thank you for your, scarifies in the field of Vietnam. 19 was the average age. Love you all brothers.

    I loved this when it came out in 1985, England, we couldnt stop talking about the video at school, it was our Bohemian Rhapsody moment if you like, our history teacher, took the opportunity to teach us briefly about the Vietnam war, how it started why the Americans got involved. Bloody horrific really,
    She was asked will their ever be a time when there will be no wars in the world?
    No she said, because there is no profit in peace.
    And most of our world leaders are fanatics.
    Prophetic words indeed.

    "19" is a song by British musician Paul Hardcastle, released as the first single from his self-titled fourth studio album Paul Hardcastle (1985).
    The song has a strong anti-war message, focusing on the United States' involvement in the Vietnam War and the effect it had on the soldiers who served. The track was notable for early use of sampled and processed speech, in particular a synthesized stutter effect used on the words "nineteen" and "destruction". It also includes various non-speech, re-dubbed sampling, such as crowd noise and a military bugle call.

      I'm surprised that it's my version of this title that works so well because it's taken from the maxi vinyl of the time and I'm not American.
      Many people have anecdotes about this war and their family members, but not me.
      However in France, we had our version of 19 spoken by Yves Mourousi, presenter of the television news.

      Yes. Yes it is. Besides the measure of editing and reframing and the abuse of sensitive material for gain
      and PR for the warmachine.
      And the at surface not that visible connection between Operation Phoenix and torture after 9/11.

    I was with the 9th infantry division in 1968 and you have to of been there to feel the full weight of fear you feel in heavy combat that won't stop. Still to this day I can hear heavy combat some nights before bed. And what makes it Soo creepy is that I can recognize the he screaming voices.

      So right. Here in Chile it was a hit. By that time, not many people knew how to speak english, so they didn t know what was about. Horrible experience ( every was in fact)
      By the way, If you dont know, this song was taken or based on a documentary from 1984 called "Vietnam Requiem" A 3 chapter program in which there are interviews and the voice of the narrator. All of them are sampled in the song . Take a look from youtube

    When I was 18, and in the Active Duty US Army, I despised the draft dodgers and "Hippies". I now have respect for BOTH the Vietnam war soldiers AND the protestors/"Hippies". (With the MOST respect going to the DRAFTED.) I recognize in many ways I was brainwashed and naive about quite a number of things (Along with many other Americans both old and young).....Hence my respect now for even JANE FONDA, WHEREAS when I was 18.....
    ....... "I WASN'T Fonda Jane".🙄

    My father served in Vietnam in 1969-‘70 i believe in the Marine Corps. As a child I
    Kept asking him to tell me what went on there and he refused to tell
    Me until i got older. At age 16 or 17 he sat me down one afternoon for 2 hours explaining his experience of fire fights, death and close
    Calls on his life there. Horror n all. After that he never spoke to
    Me again about nor that wanted to hear anymore . Horrific.

    When this song was released, I was working with multiple Vietnam War vets. I told them that when they were in the jungles of Vietnam, I was playing in the backyard with a G. I. Joe and that it had to count for something. Yeh, that went over like the Hindenburg on final approach. 🤪
