Born outside of Chicago in 53, (where I got billy clubbed in Grant Park during the convention riots) stationed in Wichita in 72 where I became a good friend of the local record shop owner, we had concerts EVERY weekend. Partied with Michael and Suzi after a concert as Bob, the shop owner was from Detroit. All the bands from Pink Floyd to the Outlaws played there. Joe Walsh put on a free show in the park after being on the road for a yr. I REALLY miss the 70's, but thanks for the memories.

Yes Suzi Quatro rocks, yes she was gorgeous, yes she was/is unique. I grew up in the seventies and 80s enjoying her own special brand of music. What annoys me are the negative comments regarding Lady Gaga et all. This was a different era. Even Gaga has her admirers, no need to compare her unfavourably with Suzi. Gaga deserves your respect if no other reason that she's a success in her own right. People enjoy the music every era has to offer.

The melody, the harmony and rhythm got me through the vein and I became a rock and roll lover. Today I understand the lyrics and do not see anything in it. It's just a slash she gives in a teenager. If you change the characters and imagine a guy trying to win over a sexy, full-fire young girl, you'll realize she was talking about herself, after all, it was quite easy to look at her and think. As a kid nothing could beat "The Jean Genie", "Teenage Rampage", "20th Century Boy" and Suzie Q's best song, the great "48 Crash" ! We were blessed !
