Messed me up, I’m 37 single no kids trying to go active duty (security forces) passed the asvab, passed everything up until they pulled My medical Record And saw that I had childhood asthma, last time I had an inhaler was in the late 90s. Did a PFT test for them and some how they messed up my paperwork. Told me I had to wait for a pulmonary consultation, then 2 months later they told me I was disqualified, I think my recruiter messed up so I got a new one and he told me to get methacolne test. I swear I don’t have asthma and they making me go through the wire. Gave them my pharmacy records last 5 years and it shows I don’t use inhalers. And they wonder why recruitment is down
I’m in a similar situation. 33 years old- went to an army recruiter 6 weeks ago, got a 95 on the Asvab, in great shape, passed the physical at MEPs and as soon as I got back from there my recruiter called me and said I have to wait 2 years to join because of something that popped up in the Genesis. I’m gonna try again but this sucks.
@@BostonsF1nest damn that sucks for us but all we can do is keep trying. Army recruiters keep hitting me up but I’m only interested in the Air Force lol I gotta wait until I can get another asthma test done
After dropping out of school in the seventh grade and getting my GED, I joined the army it was the best thing for me, and I’ve always wanted my two sons to join now. Absolutely not no reason to get your hopes up for something that is most likely not gonna happen every kid childhood asthma. Every kid has something if they have good responsive involved parents that take them to the doctors they’re fucked.
You would need to provide records up until now if you still have asthma. I recently enlisted into the Air Force and during my process, I had to go back and try and find records. Because it was so long ago, the records didnt exist anymore. I had to take a asthma test with my doctor to show I didnt have it anymore. I was told if you were diagnosed with asthma after the age of 13, it's an automatic disqualification. Good luck.
@@raulsanchez1481 as far as I know I don’t have it. I had no idea I had any medical issues until one day my mom brought it up to someone who was complaining about their asthma. I was trying to tell them about how important it is to exercise. I guess I gotta go look up some records now. And I guess get tested for it?

All why recruitment is down SMH
Been waiting since January 10th. Still no word at all.
So basically if I don’t disclose anything they’re just going to search? May as well not enlist
You’re right, probably just give up and not even give it a shot. 🤦🏼♂️🤣🍑

The reason recruitment is down
The Genesis system can definitely be the best or worst thing. I’ve seen it both ways.
I’ve only seen bad coming from it
I’ve never seen any good come from it lol
