Beware of “faux-tox!”
There have been recent reports of women experiencing adverse effects after receiving counterfeit Botox or other wrinkle-relaxing treatments by unlicensed or inadequately trained individuals, often in non-medical settings. Some of these women required hospitalization and botulism antitoxin treatment due to concerns of potential spread of botulinum toxin beyond the injection site.
