    So excited for you. Throw on one trim on the other, ext ext. Thank you for sharing. A video about your kiln would be cool too. In pottery classes I have taken the pan has always been higher.

      I can definitely show my kiln in the next video ❤️

    Given the scratches, dirt, and sharp bits, I'd say that was returned for a reason, and I'd send that puppy right back!

    I have this same wheel, it works great up to about centering 5 pounds or so. Have you done a video talking about the differences between this and your clay boss?

      I haven’t, but it’s a big difference. I’ve thrown 13 pounds on my clay boss without a problem.

    Another benefit of the higher splash pan walls is that any water or slip that leaves the bat ends up in the splash pan rather than your table and all surrounding areas!

    Now that you’ve had it a few months, what do you think?

      It’s ok lol. I wish I had saved for a better one but in a pinch it’s fine. It struggles to center anything more than 5 pounds. At 6 pounds the wheel pretty much stops spinning during centering. It also makes a high pitch whining noise when it’s rotating. It’s not an issue it’s just annoying. It’s not all bad. It’s a good size wheel for the price. But if you plan to throw large items I’d find something with more power.

    I'm considering getting the same wheel. Thanks for the review! My biggest concern is that it doesn't seem to spin slow enough. I like to go really slow for some things. Has that been a problem for you still or is it no longer an issue?

      Actually it has been an adjustment. I have to really ease on the pedal and even when it starts there’s no super slow speed. I’ve been making it work but it’s not ideal. My original Amazon wheel had that slow speed that I like.

    Where can I find the 14” bats?

    Hey Aubrey, does your hubby sell those nifty wheel tables? I have the exact wheel as your old one, and it's still going strong. If he does sell them, I live in Lawton, so there's no shipping issues.

      I’ll talk to him and see if he’s willing ❤️

      I asked my husband and he said he’d have to charge $500 for it. And I know at that rate you can get a taller wheel lol

      Thank you, I don't know anything about wood working, and I'm sure it is totally worth it, but it's a bit out of my range. Thank you so much for asking and taking the time to respond. 💜💙🩵

    Wow. I’m so sorry you had the problem with your outlet dang it. Lol. What kind of wheel is your older one? I’d be afraid this one will give you problems since it was a return. Let us know if you plan on keeping it? The splash pan should definitely not be up that high.

    • @moreldesigns2674
      @moreldesigns2674  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m keeping it, my husband drilled the holes for the bat pins already lol. I was really curious about the splash pan. I’ll have to learn to sit differently with it but all in all the wheel works so far.
      My original orange wheel is Yae Tek brand from Amazon, I have it linked in the description as well

    Remove the inner part of the legs to make it short enough to fit under the trim

    If you plan on keeping the wheel, get yourself some bricks a
    To put under the legs. I have bricks under the legs of my wheel plus the shop that I used to go to had put bricks underneath their wheel legs as well. We needed to get it high.

      I was wondering if you could put the legs in thick PVC tubes to lift it. I was looking into it myself. On the bats have you ever looked into using a tile for the bathroom (6") in the cut out of another bat?
      Thank you

    • @ruthharris6172
      @ruthharris6172 ปีที่แล้ว

      No never tried using PVC nor tile for inside of bats

      I started on the same orange wheel as you.
      I was able to upgrade to a used speedball Artista wheel. I also bought the legg set for it. I ordered small batts for it. The speedball takes the 14 'batts, but the wheel head is a bit smaller than that.
      Try finding metal pipes the same size as the inner leggs. You can make them longer to raise the wheel up.
      Thanks for an honedt video

    • @moreldesigns2674
      @moreldesigns2674  ปีที่แล้ว

      @allenfitz1 yeah I’ll give something like that a try to raise it up. I would have loved to get an artista wheel. I think I have my sights set on the black Brent wheel though lol.

    I bought the same height adjustable wheel few months ago to learn on. It too had sharp metal snags I had to file off. At first threw on the metal wheel and the grooves made getting the pieces off very difficult, it also tarnished after one use making sponges dirty and it stained permanently. I then put a bat system on it. But still something about it was just off, I had suspicions it just wasn’t level and sure enough the front leg sat 1/4” lower than back legs because the holes weren’t placed right. Trying to make it work to learn all the fundamentals, but I can see a better quality wheel in my future. Then it will be the trimming wheel. It works for now but overall…. Meh.

      Yes exactly my thoughts. All the same issues. I left a review on Amazon where I purchased it. Let’s see if they reach out to make it right
