hope all of the devs are in a happier and much more stable place now. the toll this industry takes on people is just borderline tragic. especially seeing how many hundreds of jobs were lost in a year that was supposedly the "best year for videogames". Blasphemous is a unique, macabre, beautiful experience unlike anything else I've played, and I can't wait to dive into the sequel. Wishing The Game Kitchen nothing but success in all of their future endeavors!

Como hijo de inmigrantes Andaluces, este juego me hace saltar las lágrimas, la conexión que siento con el arte sacro, la penitencia y ese mundo tan sombrío, pero elocuente que se ha conseguido plasmar en este juegazo es indescriptible… Fui un fanático acérrimo de este proyecto desde el minuto que vi los primeros artes conceptuales… creo que me compré todos los productos relacionados con blasphemous, juego, artbook, bso, camiseta, DLC, skins…, Me alegra que ello haya podido ayudar y contribuir en la empresa de estos magníficos seres humanos. Se que llego tarde, pues me pase Blasphemous 1 hace poco y ahora estoy con el 2 y solamente daros las gracias por semejantes juegazos. Hace años que no jugaba a juegos en 2D pero este me ha fascinado. El lore, la banda sonora, el doblaje, la jugabilidad.... es todo bestial. Como andaluz que soy me siento orgulloso de que de nuestra tierra salga tal juegazo. Y lo he pasado un poco mal viendo en el video que hubo ciertos momentos en los que el desarrollo del videojuego corrió peligro por falta de liquidez económica. Todo mereció la pena Enhorabuena campeones y deseando un Blasphemous 3.

Blasphemous is one of those games that you remember for the rest of your life. Gameplay, story, dialogues, music, thick atmosphere, all top notch. For me it's up there with first Soul Reaver. Hope the sequel will get physical release on PS5. Any info?

As soons as I had seen the concept arts of the game, I know it was going to be one of the best games ever. The subtle gameplay, the grotesque atmosphere, the music that send shievers down your spine, oh and don't get me started on the art style. The art style literally made me start drawing, I was so fascinated by the art of this game, it just made something inside of me move. Bless all of you and your hands and hearts that went into the making of this fantastic game. This game is not merely a game. It is one of those games that makes you ask why are we not considering games as subjects of art.
2 years back, blasphemous single handedly supported me mentally and kept my mind occupied eve when I wasn’t playing it, I really needed that to overcome some personal loss. And boy oh boy the theme of penitence kept me glued to the lore at every moment. Thoughroly enjoyed your game,just found out there’s a sequel coming next week. Qué orgullo de juego. Empieza en kickstarter y su secuela acaba como la principal rival de la secuela de un juego tan alabado como Hollow Knight. Blasphemous es un referente en cuanto a videojuegos españoles y Blasphemous 2 será un referente en cuanto a videojuego en general. Sois unos artistas✨

One of the best games ever made. And watching their journey and their struggle really moved me. Thank you Game Kitchen, not just for Blasphemous, but for your hard work and dedication. I have a deeper appreciation now that I've seen this documentary.

Went into this game not expecting much, but after beating it it’s become my favorite Metroidvania game of all time. Seeing how this game was created and the hurdles the team faced is just a gentle reminder to never give up. Against the odds, stay the course.

Blasphemous always fascinated me and after learning that the second game is on the way, I tried it and it really hit the spot. If I knew it's this good, would've tried it much earlier, yet it's especially great now - while knowing that a whole new second installment of this is still ahead and about to be dropped. After seeing the first game, I know it's in good hands and honestly hope that they have it a bit easier this time around. I'm happy that Blasphemous 2 retains the original look of the first game making it even more connected with it. The way the enviroment looks is so good, the platforms, the walls, it reminds me of 90's games in the best possible way and the gameplay is very satisfying. Yet the execution of the religious themes, how it is implemented and the whole concept is fascinating, rich and very well executed. Huge respect for the team for holding on, being there for each other and for believing in their work all the way through - which was definitely mandatory to carry on with such passion. Really happy for the success and for these people that they achieved their goal of producing such game and ultimately forming a studio where they can fully utilize their talent, go after their own projects and do what they love.

You geniuses have no idea what a artistic pleasure you gave me with blasphemous . I was born in 1987 and I loved Castlevania and metroid series since I was a child. And believe me I am a very strict gamer and today if i want to name my best games of all time i will put the blasphemous name alongside the MGS , Metroid , Castlevania, Chrono trigger and … , I really congratulate you and even envy you because of your talent , passion and this masterpiece you guys created , I hope Blasphemous 2 will be a masterpiece just like his predecessor And I will be eagerly and impatiently waiting for August 24th
La verdad es que juegue 1h aprox cuando salió en casa de un amigo y no me fue muy allá. Poco a poco con el paso de los años supe muy superficialmente temas de inspiración arquitectónica y cultural que el juego tomaba y me pareció interesante. Ayer vi este documental y quede maravillado, sumado a una espina por querer probar el juego bien. Hoy vi otro video largo hablando sobre todo el apartado artístico he historico del cual el juego bebe y luego, sin pensarlo dos veces, me lo compré en Steam. Acabo de meterle 4h casi seguidas (digo casi pq tome un break pa cenar 😂) y tenia tiempo sin gozarme un single player como lo estoy haciendo con este! De paso me entero que en nada sale el 2 🎉

Había oído hablar del juego, pero hasta hace un par de semanas no lo había probado. Para mi gusto personal, este juego es una joya. Se nota el cariño tan enorme puesto por el quipo en este proyecto y he de decir que me emociona ver ese sentimiento de familia y camaradería en el que todos van a una. Honestamente creo que esa ha sido la verdadera clave del éxito. Obviando el talento y la dedicación por supuesto. Me alegra infinito ver que hay gente en mi ciudad con ese potencial y esa calidad en su trabajo. Todo el éxito que puedan tener es poco para el que merecen. Ya no por el trabajo en si, sino por la gente buena que hay en ese equipo. Un abrazo para todos/as ellos/as!

Cuando supe la existencia de una pequeña empresa en España que presentaba esta fantástica propuesta, tan pronto como pude, decidí colaborar con la compra de este primer titulo fuese cual fuese el resultado del mismo. Ya esta Blasphemous 2 en mi lista de Steam a día 3 de agosto, deseoso de su estreno. A mi, como a tantísima gente mas alrededor del mundo hacéis que vuestro proyecto nos ponga el bello de punta. Thank you for all the hard work and imagination you put behind Blasphemous because I put hundreds of hours in your game and you can tell when something is crafted with care, it's just different. The story, the atmosphere, the lore and the world building are better than most of the shows and films out there. You gave us expansions and quality of life for the first game on top of it being super solid and not even a year later here we are on the verge of the second one coming out. No delays, everything just as planned and by the looks of it you bring us more of the same thing we enjoyed so much, but with a cherry on top, not starting over but building on top and expanding. Me ha encantado el documental. Jugue the last door en mi nokia con windows phone porque era de lo poco pasable que habia en el catalogo de windows phone y me enamore. Años mas tarde me compre la edicion coleccionista para switch... disfruté Blasphemous en Steam y a dia de hoy estoy gozandome Blasphemous 2 en mi Switch. Ha sido una delicia poder ver este documental y tener la oportunidad de conocer al equipo que hay detrás de uno de los juegos favoritos de toda mi vida. Aparte de todo lo obvio que hace de manera soberbia Blasphemous, como cordobés y andaluz me hace sentir increíblemente orgulloso que se haya elevado a tal nivel el folklore de mi tierra y sea conocido mundialmente de esta manera tan maravillosa. Y ahora, que veo de donde ha salido, no me extraña que sea la obra de arte que es. Los visuales, el arte, la narrativa y la magistral banda sonora me siguen asombrando y emocionando a día de hoy. Lo cierto es que muchas veces, como jugadores, no nos paramos a pensar en lo que se puede llegar a sufrir en el desarrollo de un juego, y siendo un equipo pequeño y haber logrado una maravilla como lo es Blasphemus, de verdad que es algo digno de respeto y admiración. Este juego y el segundo lo he jugado y platinado ambos, sacado todos los finales y jugar los DLC 's. Ahora estoy estudiando diseño y desarrollo de videojuegos y espero que en un par de años pueda crear un juego con el nivel de amor y dedicación que ustedes le dieron a blasphemous, incluso sueño con poder trabajar con ustedes una vez me gradue para aportar todo lo posible en estos proyectos, que son arte pura.
I still clearly remember, back in the days of Dark Souls' popularity explosion that resulted in droves of fanart, seeing a few in particular that were 32-bit sidescroller demakes and thinking 'damn that look GOOD'. Cue 10 years later, casually browsing Steam, I stumble upon this game and I'm immediately taken back to those fanarts, then I see there's a free demo and I go don't mind if I do, tyvm. I don't think I even got to play it for more than 10 minutes. Got to the first area with all the churches in ruins, dripping in atmosphere, and the music.. I was instantly enchanted. Left the demo and purchased the digital collector's edition in a heartbeat.
i picked up this game recently after it being on my radar for years. despite knowing it for that long, the dark and gritty style pushed me away, but after reading berserk, i got much more accustomed to that kind of artstyle (to be fair the only metroidvania i had played previously was hollow knight, which is as different as it gets in terms of artstyle). i immediately loved the game, its grown to be one of my favourites in a matter of weeks, im so glad to have discovered this masterpiece of gameplay, storytelling, and worldbuilding. thank you.

I've just finished the game for the 1-2-3-4th time in a row (100 hours for all the endings, all the penances, understanding the story but above all being caught up in your game), your work is impressive, a magnificent transmission of passion, art and culture that leads me to seek out analyses, know your sources of inspiration, know the stories of your lands. Al principio me decepcionó ver qué en el documental no salía nada de el arte, ideas etc. Ya que el juego me parece bestial en ese ramo, pero que equivocado estaba el enfoque en lo personal lo difícil y complicado que fue y la pasión, sentimientos de todo el equipo, es motivador muchas felicidades es un juego genial y bestial, apenas me jugué el primero pero de seguro voy por el segundo, felicidades muy merecido el éxito, se ve que son grandes personas.

Impresionante documental, este lo pagué en la pagina oficial del estudio para apoyar , porque lo que han hecho estos señores con Blasphemous y Blasphemous 2, es para quitarse el sombrero, banda sonora, sistema de exploración, diseños, sistema de combate, ambientacion, doblaje, es simplemente sublime, larga vida a los penitentes
Qué cosa tan fantástica. Me encanta ver todo el proceso que se llevó para traer esta obra de arte a nuestras consolas. Recuerdo cuando recién compré Blasphemous y varios escenarios estaban muy simples, no tenía los DLC y fallaba un poco el agarre con la 'x' para PS4. Poco a poco fueron haciendo actualizaciones y mejoras y se ha convertido en lo que es hoy en día, un juego entrañable. Es uno de mis juegos favoritos y cada que puedo lo recomiendo; actualmente me he comprado el 2do y es una cosa preciosa, me llena de nostalgia volver a ver a Penitente en la pantalla de mi switch y escuchando esa banda sonora tan característica de Blasphemous ❤ Muchas gracias por su esfuerzo y dedicación! Yo escuché mucho de este juego desde que salió y su estética me tenía loco, pero como desde que emigré de mi país no había vuelto a jugar por no poseer equipos, pues lo consumía por TH-cam. Hace como dos semanas, ahora con una laptop decente, encontré el primer blasphemous en oferta en steam y no lo dejé pasar. Qué buena compra! El juego me tiene fascinado, al nivel que di hoy con este docu que me conmovió y me inspiró muchísimo. Aún no termino el primero, pero definitivamente tendré al 2 en la mira de compras en el futuro próximo. Son un team increíble y me siento feliz de que hayan podido sacar este proyecto tan valioso para este medio. Toda mi admiración y respeto a ustedes.

As soons as I had seen the concept arts of the game, I know it was going to be one of the best games ever. The subtle gameplay, the grotesque atmosphere, the music that send shievers down your spine, oh and don't get me started on the art style. The art style literally made me start drawing, I was so fascinated by the art of this game, it just made something inside of me move. Bless all of you and your hands and hearts that went into the making of this fantastic game. This game is not merely a game. It is one of those games that makes you ask why are we not considering games as subjects of art.

2 years back, blasphemous single handedly supported me mentally and kept my mind occupied eve when I wasn’t playing it, I really needed that to overcome some personal loss. And boy oh boy the theme of penitence kept me glued to the lore at every moment.

One of the best games ever made. And watching their journey and their struggle really moved me. Thank you Game Kitchen, not just for Blasphemous, but for your hard work and dedication. I have a deeper appreciation now that I've seen this documentary.

Went into this game not expecting much, but after beating it it’s become my favorite Metroidvania game of all time. Seeing how this game was created and the hurdles the team faced is just a gentle reminder to never give up. Against the odds, stay the course.

Blasphemous always fascinated me and after learning that the second game is on the way, I tried it and it really hit the spot. If I knew it's this good, would've tried it much earlier, yet it's especially great now - while knowing that a whole new second installment of this is still ahead and about to be dropped. After seeing the first game, I know it's in good hands and honestly hope that they have it a bit easier this time around. I'm happy that Blasphemous 2 retains the original look of the first game making it even more connected with it. The way the enviroment looks is so good, the platforms, the walls, it reminds me of 90's games in the best possible way and the gameplay is very satisfying.
Yet the execution of the religious themes, how it is implemented and the whole concept is fascinating, rich and very well executed.
Huge respect for the team for holding on, being there for each other and for believing in their work all the way through - which was definitely mandatory to carry on with such passion. Really happy for the success and for these people that they achieved their goal of producing such game and ultimately forming a studio where they can fully utilize their talent, go after their own projects and do what they love.

You geniuses have no idea what a artistic pleasure you gave me with blasphemous . I was born in 1987 and I loved Castlevania and metroid series since I was a child. And believe me I am a very strict gamer and today if i want to name my best games of all time i will put the blasphemous name alongside the MGS , Metroid , Castlevania, Chrono trigger and … , I really congratulate you and even envy you because of your talent , passion and this masterpiece you guys created , I hope Blasphemous 2 will be a masterpiece just like his predecessor And I will be eagerly and impatiently waiting for August 24th

La verdad es que juegue 1h aprox cuando salió en casa de un amigo y no me fue muy allá. Poco a poco con el paso de los años supe muy superficialmente temas de inspiración arquitectónica y cultural que el juego tomaba y me pareció interesante.
Ayer vi este documental y quede maravillado, sumado a una espina por querer probar el juego bien. Hoy vi otro video largo hablando sobre todo el apartado artístico he historico del cual el juego bebe y luego, sin pensarlo dos veces, me lo compré en Steam.
Acabo de meterle 4h casi seguidas (digo casi pq tome un break pa cenar 😂) y tenia tiempo sin gozarme un single player como lo estoy haciendo con este! De paso me entero que en nada sale el 2 🎉

Había oído hablar del juego, pero hasta hace un par de semanas no lo había probado. Para mi gusto personal, este juego es una joya. Se nota el cariño tan enorme puesto por el quipo en este proyecto y he de decir que me emociona ver ese sentimiento de familia y camaradería en el que todos van a una. Honestamente creo que esa ha sido la verdadera clave del éxito. Obviando el talento y la dedicación por supuesto. Me alegra infinito ver que hay gente en mi ciudad con ese potencial y esa calidad en su trabajo. Todo el éxito que puedan tener es poco para el que merecen. Ya no por el trabajo en si, sino por la gente buena que hay en ese equipo. Un abrazo para todos/as ellos/as!

Thank you for all the hard work and imagination you put behind Blasphemous because I put hundreds of hours in your game and you can tell when something is crafted with care, it's just different. The story, the atmosphere, the lore and the world building are better than most of the shows and films out there.
You gave us expansions and quality of life for the first game on top of it being super solid and not even a year later here we are on the verge of the second one coming out. No delays, everything just as planned and by the looks of it you bring us more of the same thing we enjoyed so much, but with a cherry on top, not starting over but building on top and expanding.

Me ha encantado el documental. Jugue the last door en mi nokia con windows phone porque era de lo poco pasable que habia en el catalogo de windows phone y me enamore. Años mas tarde me compre la edicion coleccionista para switch... disfruté Blasphemous en Steam y a dia de hoy estoy gozandome Blasphemous 2 en mi Switch. A mi hijo le flipa quedarse horas viendome jugarlo y darme consejos... Muchas gracias por el trabajazo que haceis y por llevar la marca España tan lejos y con tan buen criterio. Gracias por compartirlo. Habrá sido un viaje 1000 veces más duro de lo que se ve, pero llena de orgullo como español y como andaluz, ver lo que habéis logrado con esfuerzo y dedicación. Me encantó blasphemous. Lo habré jugado incontables horas, y espero al 24 de Agosto como agua de Mayo para vivir de nuevo esa experiencia tan bonita de un lore creado a partir de nuestra cultura y la enorme imaginación que tenéis. Ha sido una delicia poder ver este documental y tener la oportunidad de conocer al equipo que hay detrás de uno de los juegos favoritos de toda mi vida. Aparte de todo lo obvio que hace de manera soberbia Blasphemous, como cordobés y andaluz me hace sentir increíblemente orgulloso que se haya elevado a tal nivel el folklore de mi tierra y sea conocido mundialmente de esta manera tan maravillosa. Y ahora, que veo de donde ha salido, no me extraña que sea la obra de arte que es. Los visuales, el arte, la narrativa y la magistral banda sonora me siguen asombrando y emocionando a día de hoy. Lo cierto es que muchas veces, como jugadores, no nos paramos a pensar en lo que se puede llegar a sufrir en el desarrollo de un juego, y siendo un equipo pequeño y haber logrado una maravilla como lo es Blasphemus, de verdad que es algo digno de respeto y admiración. Me hubiera gustado ver algo del doblaje al castellano. Un saludo enorme desde tierras aztecas. Esperamos con gusto Blasphemous 2

Este juego y el segundo lo he jugado y platinado ambos, sacado todos los finales y jugar los DLC 's.
Ahora estoy estudiando diseño y desarrollo de videojuegos y espero que en un par de años pueda crear un juego con el nivel de amor y dedicación que ustedes le dieron a blasphemous, incluso sueño con poder trabajar con ustedes una vez me gradue para aportar todo lo posible en estos proyectos, que son arte pura.
I still clearly remember, back in the days of Dark Souls' popularity explosion that resulted in droves of fanart, seeing a few in particular that were 32-bit sidescroller demakes and thinking 'damn that look GOOD'. Cue 10 years later, casually browsing Steam, I stumble upon this game and I'm immediately taken back to those fanarts, then I see there's a free demo and I go don't mind if I do, tyvm. I don't think I even got to play it for more than 10 minutes. Got to the first area with all the churches in ruins, dripping in atmosphere, and the music.. I was instantly enchanted. Left the demo and purchased the digital collector's edition in a heartbeat.
i picked up this game recently after it being on my radar for years. despite knowing it for that long, the dark and gritty style pushed me away, but after reading berserk, i got much more accustomed to that kind of artstyle (to be fair the only metroidvania i had played previously was hollow knight, which is as different as it gets in terms of artstyle). i immediately loved the game, its grown to be one of my favourites in a matter of weeks, im so glad to have discovered this masterpiece of gameplay, storytelling, and worldbuilding.

Al principio me decepcionó ver qué en el documental no salía nada de el arte, ideas etc. Ya que el juego me parece bestial en ese ramo, pero que equivocado estaba el enfoque en lo personal lo difícil y complicado que fue y la pasión, sentimientos de todo el equipo, es motivador muchas felicidades es un juego genial y bestial, apenas me jugué el primero pero de seguro voy por el segundo, felicidades muy merecido el éxito, se ve que son grandes personas.

Qué cosa tan fantástica. Me encanta ver todo el proceso que se llevó para traer esta obra de arte a nuestras consolas. Recuerdo cuando recién compré Blasphemous y varios escenarios estaban muy simples, no tenía los DLC y fallaba un poco el agarre con la 'x' para PS4. Poco a poco fueron haciendo actualizaciones y mejoras y se ha convertido en lo que es hoy en día, un juego entrañable. Es uno de mis juegos favoritos y cada que puedo lo recomiendo; actualmente me he comprado el 2do y es una cosa preciosa, me llena de nostalgia volver a ver a Penitente en la pantalla de mi switch y escuchando esa banda sonora tan característica de Blasphemous ❤ Muchas gracias por su esfuerzo y dedicación! Yo escuché mucho de este juego desde que salió y su estética me tenía loco, pero como desde que emigré de mi país no había vuelto a jugar por no poseer equipos, pues lo consumía por TH-cam. Hace como dos semanas, ahora con una laptop decente, encontré el primer blasphemous en oferta en steam y no lo dejé pasar. Qué buena compra! El juego me tiene fascinado, al nivel que di hoy con este docu que me conmovió y me inspiró muchísimo.
Aún no termino el primero, pero definitivamente tendré al 2 en la mira de compras en el futuro próximo.
Son un team increíble y me siento feliz de que hayan podido sacar este proyecto tan valioso para este medio. Toda mi admiración y respeto a ustedes.

Muy orgulloso del trabajo que hicieron con Blasphemous. Habéis pasado también por una penitencia, sufriendo el desafío de hacer este juego, pero queda compensado con un exitazo y por el disfrute de ver toda la gente que ahora ama Blasphemous, que crea y comparte contenido sobre él y que espera con ansias la segunda parte. Espero que ahora con la experiencia adquirida todo vaya un poco más rodado. Inspiráis mucho, gracias.
