Turning the Combiner pieces into a Trailer makes sense. Though it would have been a feat of engineering if they had incorporated everything into the six figures. Maybe if the Masterpiece team takes their crack at it. I'll be happy if the SS figures get G2 recolors.
Really hoping that this devastator is good, (I missed the titan class one and didn't want to pay for reseller prices) and hoping that I can find one of those primes, The UK stock situation is dreadful.
Studio Series Commander Class ideas: ROTB Stratosphere G1 Rodimus Prime repack with new face sculpt and more accurate colors (I personally don’t really like his “old man face” on the Kingdom toy) Concept G1 Rails (snake-like trainbot) G1 Astrotrain
Also, I’m considering SS86 Optimus, but idk. He’s great, but I’ve got ER/KDM Optimus. Both can easily coexist in my collection, but idk if I want 86 Also, thanks, Proto! Happy Holidays to you too!
This looks pretty good. Considering that the trailer is as large as an additional figure, I don't think the extra $20 is unreasonable. It's a shame they have to do parts-forming to that extent, but I'm glad they're not using the "limb-bots are just armor attachments" gimmick. I'm not 100% certain, but I suspect that purple block in the middle of Hook's vehicle mode is Devastator's head.
Fingers crossed for an orange recolour of this set to pose side by side with our KB Toy Store exclusive vintage one! BTW, does anyone else miss the old 'double-drill hand' feature from the old toys & TF Zone? PS. Yours truly has got the official YotS Omega, together with Energon Omega Supreme & Omega Sentinel actively on standby for a triple-action beatdown of this shrunken 'kaiju' of an 'Action Master' Devastator! (They seem to be a close enough match to this scaled down, simplified '86 Studio Series ala 'olde skool' toys that seem to lack modern waist & wrist articulation.) What's more, it seems 'Long Haulimus Prime' here lacks his truck bed dumping feature (due to the new trailer 'giri' he has to bear). I'm glad that 'Half-Commander' (*cough*) (cough*) Hook's crane hook has a full range of motion (rotation, extension & seemingly adjustable hook). Sadly, the design on the model for Mixmaster seems to indicate that his cement mixer drum is locked in position and unable to rotate (just like the CW/Unite Warriors one). It is important for construction vehicles to retain their rudimentary vehicular functions when it comes to excavation, scooping, shovelling, dumping, etc. to evoke that old notion of 'two toys for the price of one'. Hopefully, HasTakTom hasn't forgotten the very essence of the brand... 😅 PS. 2. It would be nice if these toyish Long Haul & Mixmaster here could be redone as Landfill & Quickmix, respectively, as a Double Targetmaster to go with our Generations Scoop. Though even ol' T30 Scoop has waist rotation, come to think of it! 😂
Toy looks great. My only gripe (which i will learn to get over) is why the trailer on long haul? If it wasnt going to be accurate anyway why not make another construction vehicle out of it? Make it a nod to ROTF and call it "the little one" lol. Im still not a fan of how we are currently doing combiners but i am glad that devastator has more elements than just the skeleton.
I see the head of devastator is built into hook, that's how I like it. To me this is a better looking copy of the CW version, it would've been way too big on my dresser
Aw, man, I'm really waffling over the 86 Constructicons - I have a Hulkie who's the perfect size to stand opposite the Core Dinos ias Volcanicus plus hands and feet upgrade kit, but this one looks like he's just right for (as expectd) the 86 Dinobots... but, too, there's both the Aerialbots and apparently the Combaticons coming in 2025, plus the Triple Takeover set (maybe - I loathe Starsream and both WFCx Astrotrain and LGC Blutzwing are ass in both vehicle modes, hence why I skipped them before, but the other option is the Mechfans trio who are sub-Deluxe size for about Leader prices, and no free Starscream to repaint as Redwing or something even assuming HasTak finally do Octane again to finish the set...) and Star Convoy as well to suck up the "big toy" budget I can barely scrape together in the first place, and force putting a bunch of my displayed figures back in the boxes and up to the attic. I might even sell a few of the javkiest Prime Wars guys who've since had better versions of the characters in WFCx or LGC(x)/S86.
Hook & Long Haul have reignited my excitement for this set…. The first two look good, but not great. But Hook looks solid, and Long Haul is such a huge improvement from the CW version. I can see how this Commander Class 2-pack is $90. Not only does that trailer have some of the torso pieces and forearms/hands, but it also includes the upper legs for Devastator. That combined form looks awesome.
I really just want ROTB Stratosphere as Studio Series Commander for 2025. The Constructicons are great, but why not just make them Deluxes, Voyagers and Leaders? Do we really need multipacks with multiple Constructicons as Commanders and stuff? Why not release them all separately then later down the road repack them in a Constructicon box set like they did with Legacy Menasor? Edit: The Constructicons look great, but I really, really hope they can still make another Commander Class for this year. Basically, this year (2025) we’ll have 2 Commanders for the year. Just make an exception for 2025. Please. Besides, technically this is 2 Voyagers in a 2-pack; not really an actual, proper Commander Class
All I gotta say is sorry-not-sorry Ha$bro, gotta go with Mecha Invasion Giant Legion Devastator. If I were a kid, the Ha$bro version would be fine. As an adult, need an adult sized and detailed Devastator.
Seems like they prioritized the devastator here as opposed to the individual robots The more i see of this the less i want it Im still probably gonna get it cause the only other options are the combiner wars or a 3rd party, but i wish they were better. Bonecrusher is a bit chunky but hes the least offensive of all of them. Scrapper has thighs that i personally think are a bit too long, but that could just be me, and his hands really bother me. Hook's entire legs are just wrong, and i can see how much hollow space is in that backpack Long Haul looks like they squashed him from the top and put on teeny tiny baby arms, and the trailer doesnt really work for me. I also understand that Devastator is an impossible design to do without partsforming, but from what im seeing here, the chest crest, thighs, hips, and forearms are all partsforming. (and maybe the head) The combiner wars one only had the chest and arms partsform, and this is 8 years later. Im not super disappointed but i feel like they could have done better. Just dont mess up my boy scavenger and ill buy it.
@@A-Microwave Thats fair, but i do also want to play with the toy that i spent $210 on and move it from my shelf occasionally I will also most likely keep it displayed in combined mode, but its still nice to have the option yknow?
still feels these are all deluxes. i dont see anything that suggests the voyagers are that and not deluxes. with enough of the extra trailer creating the actual body and legs just feels like the price doesnt add up. these look great not to take away from what they have done, i personally want them to make it worth there price points more accessories and blast effects something that says hey these deluxes are voyagers with what with give you.
What is EP2. I keep hearing it in regards to the constructicons. Is that their color, prototype...what? Also I understand that people find the constructicons. All except bonecrusher and probably scavenger to be overpriced but with todays crazy inflations and stuff I feel if your on edge wait for reviewers like prime vs prime to probably get 6/6 early and then see them together to make your decision. I agree that the voyagers and commander pack are all 3 most likely overpriced but I really couldn't care. Don't have CW devastator and I love combiners so I'm copping.

Last time they did, Long Haul looked like a sumo wrestler and Scrapper had no elbows.

You can have mine, it's never been transformed.

They aren’t worth the price on their own.
The trailer should at least become a battle platform.
And where are the trumpets?
Where ARE the trumpets????!!!
OH NOW THEY FIXED SS86 PRIME?! Mannnn
Also, I’m considering SS86 Optimus, but idk. He’s great, but I’ve got ER/KDM Optimus. Both can easily coexist in my collection, but idk if I want 86

got lucky with my ss86 prime that i pre-ordered on amazon canada he has the heels in the correct position.
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 Protoman 😎
My 86 Commander Optimus has 42011 and had the goobered heals fyi. I am super stoked for Devastator!!
just get the toyhax stickers, it dramatically helps the trailer at the very least, and fixes the heels

I just got my SS86 OP from a GameStop pre-order and the heels are correct on mine out of the box
Trying to wrap my mind around it. Are they Voyagers like SS Hot Rod was Voyager. That I guess makes sense, if follow that logic chain.
Somewhat, I think I heard that the legs are Voyagers due to them having tho keep the main body up so they’re more hefty.

Just waiting for Long Haul and Hook to pop up on Zing Pop Culture so I can preorder them. 😁
But does long haul’s dump dump like on a real dump truck? That is my question

Longhaul sting being a beefy guy😂
We added a ratchet joint to these deluxes. That'll be a 40% markup, please.
🎶 TABFORMERS❗️ More than what the price is worth 🎵

Hook's feet are wrong - they don't flip around, they simply accordion open, and his arms are a bit dinky-looking like Scrapper's arms.
Im keeping my Titans Devastator simply due to the fact he scales perfectly with my @Hasbro Omega Gaurdian.
All I gotta say is sorry-not-sorry Ha$bro, gotta go with Mecha Invasion Giant Legion Devastator.

not to poop on this right away, but I'm not crazy about Hook's feet.

@nummiebarry519 it’s the second molded prototype using intended colors.
*pretty small…*
Agreed. As an adult, need an adult sized & detailed Devastator, ergo Mecha Invasion Giant Legion.
