Deion Sanders is one of the greatest thing to happen to HBCU football in a while. They have more eyes and people watching them then ever before. You’re 100 percent correct, but while all of the SWAC coaches will be happy to benefit from what Sanders bring to the table, they are probably feeling a little insecure next to him. Deion Sanders is one of the great CBs of all time AND he can coach players too? That’s scary for more than a few SWAC coaches for sure.

Let's be real about this post game episode with Eddie Robinson Jr. He is jealous of Primetime's on the field success. I suppose he thinks he ought to be the darling of the SWAC because of who his father was. I wasn't a huge fan of college football until Deion took over at JSU. I grew up in Jackson and others who grew up in the South know, but you're right, the rest of the country really didn't know. Steve McNair, Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Strahan, all came out of the SWAC, but all people knew was that they played at an HBCU, not necessarily the school or conference they played in. Prime is shining a bright light on this conference and I salute him for that

Coach Robinson has a lot of animosity towards Deion for several reasons. Many of the elements that come with Deion are not new to the SWAC or HBCU football. A Coach with NFL playing experience, great recruiter, P5 transfers. Many coaches and administrators have worked tirelessly to elevate these athletic programs and institutions long before Prime came along. What he brings that was missing is the larger than life personality, business acumen, and a higher level of influence. The HBCU culture has long kept away outsiders. They let him in and the hard work of many is now overlooked and Robinson, who is an NFL vet coaching at a school that has made major upgrades in facilities in the recent years and has the last Guy drafted in the first round of the NFL draft from an HBCU is resentful of Sanders.
The jealousy, ignorance and hate is real. Good win by JSU. JSU will always get other teams best effort; don't play down to your opponent. This is the same ASU coach that gets the score run up on and a** kicked by Chip Kelly but hugs him after the game....hum, I wonder why? Wake up people.

When SWAC schools play higher level institutions, you can clearly see the separation in talent. Prime has been leading a movement to change it. Why? Because he has the ability to do it. I guarantee it if he was coaching at your school instead of JSU then you would be singing a different tune. That's the point a lot of people are making. People like to resist change when it's not playing in their favor.
The SWAC was never a joke. It just wasn’t as popular as it is at the moment, especially outside of the black community. The college with the most wins, Grambling, is a part of SWAC. Read the history.

A coach's job is to be honest with the players and fans about their critique of the game. He knows his players and if felt they could have done better, he has to tell them. He can compliment the efforts but encourage better at the same time. He's about winning life, not just winning games! That's what's wrong with some young folks, folks are not honest with them and they go through life with the wrong message or an incomplete message about what they are displaying. When I was in high school running track, I wish I had a coach like that. I wish I could have joined a track club to get that type of mentorship because some high school coaches dance around in their instruction because they are concerned about what a parent might say or how their employer will respond. If I knew then how to motivate myself like I do now I may have risen above their coaching, but I should not have had to do that or know that as a child. I should have been taught that.
