All the classic Halloween songs are perfectly restored and updated for a modern audience, and even the new songs feel right at home next to the old ones. I know there's no chance of it winning, but I am praying that this soundtrack at least gets nominated for best Original Score at the Oscars.
The sequence and scoring for "The Shape Hunts Allyson" was FANTASTIC. One of my favorite parts of the film. Very fresh, beautifully shot, and a nice off-the-nose homage to the original when Laurie runs from the house where Michael first tries to kill her...
Myers was handled perfectly. Never thought he could be that scary as an old man, even without his mask. They stayed true to the characters. I'm extremely pleased :) What I love the most about Myers is he's all quiet and unpredictable and can lash out any second with absolute brutality. You can feel the evil behind that mask. A guy that looks like a girl, funny but it felt more like comedy than scary. Good movie though, don get me wrong here.
@@josephd1998 Right? Unless, Allyson did something because of the way she was holding the knife at the end. There "is" supposed to be a sequel so I wouldn't think he died
Prison montage ( 5:05 ) is actually so great. It gives me that "After all those years, he's back." vibe. Also the "It must die!" in the movie by Dr. Loomis gives it extra points.
5:05 prison montage is THE song that sums up Michael. It's the sound of impending doom. Sadness. Sadness and fear because you will not escape him. If you stop him, it's only temporary. The movie was damn near perfection for a Halloween movie. So much attention to detail, homage to the original but still a new thing in itself! Carpenter killed it with the new soundtrack. Nick Castle back, same Mask, lil details if you are a Halloween fan. Again... perfection.
This was if anything, the greatest Halloween movie within the franchise. The suspense, the brutality, the depth in character build up and the payoff was incredible. Kind of makes you wonder who the true monster of this story was. Michael for being loose on Halloween or Laurie for stalking Michael for 40 years, wanting to kill him. What a movie.
I disagree. Halloween (2007) showed more gore and was in fact alot more disturbing. This new one didn't include a full visual of the ladies death (when he beat the lady with a hammer as she was sitting down in the kitchen). Although, not a bad movie. Just wish they really made it as disturbing as Halloween (2007).
What's brilliant about it IS the off-screen violence. Michael Myers isn't about the gore, he's about the suspense. Michael is supposed to be a psychological disturbance, not a visual one.
@@9LineGaming imo, Rob Zombie's Halloween was just unpleasant, and not even in a fun way. It was shocking just for the sake of being shocking, and the disturbing moments didn't amount to anything.
Dude same, I honestly didn’t know whether to root for Micheal or Laurie lol. I agree, great movie, I was already entranced by the 1978 one and the fact that the 2018 one was a sequel with all of its cues to the old one just made it that much better. Definitely worth my time and money.

Nahh the original Halloween 2 was better. This one had too many jokes that were like a super bad movie. Black kid was out of place and the ending was really mediocre
This soundtrack almost always imitates a fast beating heart, giving you a tremendous sense of urgency, almost fight or flight instinct reaction. Interstellar does a similar thing with the ticking clock beat.
@@MrNicMachiavelli your talking shit about a 40 year old movie pal !! No FUCKING shit dude this modern movie better be sharper than the old one... but rember at the time john carpenter had a very low budget to make that film.!! And it impacted the horror indrusty for years
taking shit, no. It was just a lack of experience. The budget didn't influence the acting (good actors are pretty common) and the films back then weren't worse on average than now. He just wasn't as skilled as he later would be at that point.
i disagree! the second one too is great! all the others are just ok movies but honestly the whole Halloween saga could have been a lot better! The new film is not all it's cracked up to be. It's a pretty ordinary movie with a few terrifying scenes. That's it! The soundtrack, on the other hand, is amazing!!!
"back to its roots"???? *Bullshit.* Back to Michael stalking his victims? Nope. Also way more brutal. Not even kids are safe this time around.... Still the best film in the franchise.
the more i listen to it the more i like it, certainly got that Carpenter's 80s vibe about it some tracks remind me of the fog but there is some old and new Halloween stuff too.
19:48 is the best music I have heard in one year. congrats for john carpenter. me: I know a lot of music. john carpenter: hold my beer while I create amazing music.
I love prison montage as well. It would be a fitting song for a myers kill count montage or something. it's just beautiful and soothing in general as well :P
This movie wouldn't be nearly as good as it is without Carpenter's masterful soundtrack. I smiled so much during most of the movie just because of this soundtrack.
Soundtrack to this movie is most likely one of the best soundtracks I've heard to a film. The movie itself was also very good, ranking it the second best Halloween movie for me personally, but the soundtrack was just mind blowing. Perfection in soundtrack for me was Mad Max - Fury Road, and this movie is nothing short of a master piece for me. In comparing it to horror alone, i'll rank it very close to Alien and The Shining (My two horror pillars) Would really like to see this concept of Halloween carry on for a few more movies and having the soundtrack being evolved even more. A lot of node back to the old, with a touch of fresh air. Loved it.
I just watched this film in cinema and bloody hell I love it as much as the first. You can tell that so much thought and time went into it and no wonder at all why Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter wanted to be the main parts of it again. My favourite part of this whole score has to be when the cop played by Will Patton is investigating and this really disturbing music comes on and it's almost like it's part of the sound effects, can't find it in this though.
And Will Patton refers to the 1978 murders as "the Babysitter Murders..." That was the original working title of the concept before John Carpenter et al decided to set it around Halloween and make that the title.
Without a doubt the best sequel since the original. The series is on a high, I can only hope they approach the next movie with the same level of care and attention to detail. This series has an awful habit of shooting itself in the foot after a successful film and derailing the franchise.
Huge love and respect to John Carpenter for this OST from Pakistan ❤️ i remember when it came out in cinema the ost really moved me with each every scene. The soundtrack describes the life of Michael Myers so well, so dark and brutal it almost wakes a michael in you :) Been hearing the soundtrack since then

Best soundtrack I’ve ever heard and one of the best horror movies I’ve watched
This soundtrack almost always imitates a fast beating heart, giving you a tremendous sense of urgency, almost fight or flight instinct reaction. Interstellar does a similar thing with the ticking clock beat.
Damn good film, proves even more why Michael Myers is definitely one of the best horror movie serial killers next to Jason, Chucky, Freddy.
Michael IS the best.
@@groovymyers1354 Yes, he is, but I have to give credit where it is due. But by far, out of all of them Michael without a doubt is the best.
@@overipecanine1485 oh I agree. I love Jason and Freddy as well.
Loved the movie and it took me back the 80s renting J Carpenter movies from the video shop and loving his soundtracks
I ordered it after seeing the movie. Sounds amazing !!! Going to be playing this at my Halloween party
Fantastic movie! The best one since the original
Watch again. The original is good but this one blows it out of the water. The acting in the original was, aside from the shrink and Jamie, pretty bad.
@@lucagiovanetti9176 i personally loved the knew Halloween so basically what im saying is Fuck your opinion!!
Saw it last night....very solid movie that went back to its roots.
105 mins
Supernivek80 it says it’s longer online
"back to its roots"???? *Bullshit.* Back to Michael stalking his victims? Nope. Also way more brutal. Not even kids are safe this time around....
Still the best film in the franchise.
@@MarCuseus Agreed! The thing that set the original part was the lack of blood and brutality. This felt more Jason Voorhees than Michael Myers.
or perhaps the Terminator
the more i listen to it the more i like it, certainly got that Carpenter's 80s vibe about it some tracks remind me of the fog but there is some old and new Halloween stuff too.
I have his Lost Themes albums and am totally buying this too!
Yeah I am ordering it today.
JC's music scores sure did elevate his films to another level of great cinematic experience!
I've seen the movie for the 2nd time tonight. Michael Myers rocks!!! ❤️
19:48 is the best music I have heard in one year. congrats for john carpenter.
me: I know a lot of music.
john carpenter: hold my beer while I create amazing music.
I think "prison montage" is an underrated score on the track. But I agree with everyone else who thinks the shape hunts Allyson is the best overall.
The Shape Burns, Intro, and Halloween Triumphant are the best ones.
I love prison montage too! It's SOO deep.
One of the best for me
I love prison montage as well. It would be a fitting song for a myers kill count montage or something. it's just beautiful and soothing in general as well :P
Thanks for this, just saw the movie yesterday and it was one of the best!
19:47 should definitely be the new them cuz that shit was scary and reminded me of the purge movies
Thank you for posting this wonderful soundtrack.
@25:18 u know he killing someone brutally at this part
Yeah Ray lol he gets it bad !
The Original Captain Caveman yep that head stomp was brutal
Legit ?

@@dr.samloomis3103 oh shit! Shoot him six times!!!
*heavy breathing*
IM DYING 😂😂😂
This movie wouldn't be nearly as good as it is without Carpenter's masterful soundtrack. I smiled so much during most of the movie just because of this soundtrack.
One of the main actor of the film !! Truly a very good film !!!
To me the score was the best thing about the entire film. Hearing a John carpenter score again! Makes the film👌
19:48 - The Shape Hunts Allyson best song :)
In comparing it to horror alone, i'll rank it very close to Alien and The Shining (My two horror pillars)
Would really like to see this concept of Halloween carry on for a few more movies and having the soundtrack being evolved even more. A lot of node back to the old, with a touch of fresh air. Loved it.
Prison Montage....very deep
Been replaying this track. Dark, Haunting.
Yea.
He’ll yea 💪🏼
Not into dudes. Sorry dork !
The track that plays when Michael spots Allyson is amazing. Gave me goosebumps
support john carpenter,,,and thank him.....
Truly amazing and so beautiful.
I JUST SAW IT GREAT SOUNDTRACK. GOOD MOVIE. IT FELT VERY LATE 80S EARLY 90S VIBE.👻🔨🔪🎵
"The Shape Kills" gave me chills. I had to look behind me several times.
One of the best movie soundtracks what i ever heard!
Every soundtrack has this 80's feeling to it and I love it
Wish that we get the pumpkin intro again!
We will 100%!
Maybe you do...you wish could be granted. (Saw it earlier this week...shhh)
We did!
The pumpkin intro is really good
Yeah it there and its great
Huge love and respect to John Carpenter for this OST from Pakistan ❤️ i remember when it came out in cinema the ost really moved me with each every scene. The soundtrack describes the life of Michael Myers so well, so dark and brutal it almost wakes a michael in you :) Been hearing the soundtrack since then
19:59 NEXT LEVEL SCARY!!!
19:48 gave me chills. The music amplified the already immense feeling of how dangerous Micheal Myers is
Awesome movie going to see it again!!)))
Warlord2029 Dude jamie lee curtis knocked it out of the park! You feel so bad for her because everyones like shes just crazy and doesnt understand the horrors he brought towards her.
She did a fantastic job I wish they had put more emphasis on her character, but I am not going to nit pick...I waited 40 years for this !)))🎃
Really loved the movie using the slower piano (starting @ 11:29 on this)- it made it oddly dramatic for a horror movie; of course going along with what was actually being shown on screen- awesome.
I love the note at 25:45 so much with the scene that it accompanies, it looks so badass and creepy!
Red Razor Pictures that head stomping was brutal
hecg83 thanks for the spoilers man!
Red Razor Pictures what’s spoiler? Never said the dr was the one that cause the crash, because he wanted Michael rampage. That’s why he gets his head stomp
"Say something Michael" *head gets crushed*
you: "i love it so much WITH the scene that it accompanies"
also you: "thAnKS FoR thE sPOiLErs
It's so f***ing amazing! Feeling the shape right behind me listening to this! Great work!
The movie was awesome!! Screw the haters!! It did exactly it was set out to do. It was pure Halloween and Michael doing his thing.
One of the best horror movies out there. Their soundtrack is spot on and Beautiful
19:48 аж мурашки по коже идут
Bad arse kicking tune oh yeah!
