If you get the chance. See it live. Nearly lost my eyebrows during the last breakdown, the bass is INTENSE. 10/10 would recommend, perhaps the best gig ive ever been to. (They played with Chelsea grin)

Rachelle, I listened carefully to your reaction, and yes -I think Kublai Khan TX grabbed my attention in much the same way, only a few months ago, with a slice of their live performance of "Us & Them", at the 2023 LDB Festival in Louisville KY. Yes, there is something primal & basic to the sound of Kublai Khan TX's songs, with Matt Honeycutt's vocal delivery, mixed with a massive chugging blend of the bass & the guitar, with spot-on drum beat emphasis, all which blends into a tough, pulsing, heavy hardcore sound that, for me, is so captivating. As Matt Honeycutt has said in interviews, they've been continually working at their Kublai Khan TX live sound for years, with live performance after live performance. To me, they've hit that recipe of what works; it's basic, it's tough, and it grabs you!
They just put out fire. Dont try to over do anything, just some simplistic tough music that accents how fucking tough Matt is. Vocals/lyrics are always amazing, the open space and tones instrumentally are insane. I hope this band never changes.
