Class 01 11506 shunting Castlecroft - East Lancs Heritage Opens Days Preparations - 6th Sept 2024

    Recently overhauled British Railway Class 01 11506 is captured on shunting duties at Castlecroft Yard in Bury at the East Lancashire Railway and Bury Transport Museum.
    The diesel shunter lead a convoy of Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway rolling stock. Appearing in its new LMS livery, ahead of its visit to the Severn Valley Railway, was 0-6-0ST 11456 (752), with Pug 19 (matching 11456 as LMS 11243) and fresh from Buckley Wells Carriage & Wagon Works L&Y Observation Saloon to Castlecroft.
    The steam locomotives were placed in Castlecroft shed ahead of a events for the Heritage Open Days, were the Pug would be shunting the yard and 752 on display with the observation saloon.
    Wagons were shunted around into starting positions for the weekend by 11506.
    Converted Hunslet 2890 is captured departing Bury Bolton Street for Rawtenstall on footplate experience duties.
