The last solo was basically John saying I've had a good run but I think it's time for me to move on but don't forget me just remember me for the good times .......but me being a massive chili fan it breaks my soul and heart to realise this will never happen again unless the stars and planets Aline and ... that's a dying shame because the John eras were the best thing that happened to music...... period .
Matthew Bailey he knew from around mid 2007 ish so he had made his mind up already, you can tell how he looks and acts on stage. But he didn't leave until 2008. Oddly enough some of his best playing was right near the end!
04:08 John thinks "Hmmmm.... maybe I shouldn't play a killer solo this time" END RESULT: All other guitar solos prior to this by anyone are deemed irrelevant. Period.
I feel like everyone in the band is so sad this performance, you can hear it in almost everything, anthonys voice, fleas bass playing, chads slow drumming, johns emotional guitar playing, they all probably thought the band was over with out john, but it isnt, just a big part of it left, but its still here...
Basically it was the last show of the stadium arcadium tour and everybody knew that they will be taking an undefined hiatus because they were all tired after touring non-stop since 1999. Flea told John that he wanted to take a rest and that moment was determinant for John's 2nd departure
Slane Castle represents greatness, one of the best. But this, my friend, is about soul. It comes from the spirit, and it reflects the grandeur of our souls.
I fell in love for the guitar, something he never cared much, but that changed when I began to see Frusciante videos. I just bought one, and I just want one day play 10% of what it plays! FRUSCIANTEEEEEEEEEEE
I'm crying like an idiot! This was the last time they played Don't Forget Me together, and John knew it: he was just standing and playing alone this beautiful outro, and it seems like Flea couldn't finish the song... So sad!
He cocks the wah as a sort of sharp boost, some chorus, delay, reverb. I say this but it's still hard to fucking dial in. Actually the Moog phaser might be used.
(hope you are Austrian just as you have written in your profile...;-) )
@xX4crazy4Xx his vintage boss chorus CH1 is definitely in, but at the end of the song he uses the expression pedal from one of his moogerfooger soundprocessors ... it's quite hard to copy this sound, he has more than 20 effects ^^
@JohnChadAnthonyFlea thank you man for your answer! =) Those Moogerfoogers are pretty expensive, and no normal guitar player has 3 Fullstacks to play with :D
this is the last time john plays it with the chilis, and he pulls of the best outro for don't forget me, By The Way does anyone know what effect he is using at 0.10-0:13?
@xX4crazy4Xx i think he has six of them, his whole pedalboard costs more than 4000 euros/5000$ ^^ check this, it tells you a bit of his setup, maype he's also using his line6 chorus ...
The ending should be appreciated as one of the greatest solos ever
The ability to capture emotion with six strings transcends mortality.
The last solo was basically John saying I've had a good run but I think it's time for me to move on but don't forget me just remember me for the good times .......but me being a massive chili fan it breaks my soul and heart to realise this will never happen again unless the stars and planets Aline and ... that's a dying shame because the John eras were the best thing that happened to music...... period .
Planets aligned, my friend ;)
It's actually unreal to read comments like this. I'm so happy with you guys :)
@@koctyany4 And so have the stars!!!!!
I hope I see everyone here at a RHCP concert when they tour again, cheers everybody
They've aligned my friend
my dad was at this and he said everybody was just standing there mouths wide open, tears in their eyes.
I know I sure would have! This has made me tear up just listening to it here
cant wait for John's comeback
The moment has come my friend!
I love you
Wow
Are you the prophecy they talk about?
stratocasterfranck Mr. franck, how did you know this? You are the magician, correct? Regards.
john talks through with that outro, clearly a nostalgic farewell
i'm not sure he knew he was leaving until hiatus came up
Matthew Bailey he knew from around mid 2007 ish so he had made his mind up already, you can tell how he looks and acts on stage. But he didn't leave until 2008. Oddly enough some of his best playing was right near the end!
Phrtz he announced that wanna left the band at the brit awards 2007 a few months before
@@Jamesyates2609 the SA era as a whole John kinda dropped the minimalist approach a bit and started going off on the solos.
What a nice ending... I love this song.
04:08 John thinks "Hmmmm.... maybe I shouldn't play a killer solo this time"
END RESULT: All other guitar solos prior to this by anyone are deemed irrelevant. Period.
how about slane castle ?
+Sundance yea .. slane castle was a life changing moment for me .. but I think the solo at the end is something quite exceptional
Nirmal Joseph me too
nobody can play like frusciante...he's incredible
One bend from john frusciante has more excitement and emotion than other artists entire solos
John is just perfect!!! End of words
The guitar is incredible in this version. I always watch the live versions - so free.
I want the part from 4:20 to be played at my funeral or whatever.
+Vasil Kovachev Me too , i see every cover in youtube but its no the same how it John makes
Exactly justi wwhen the box don. in the earth.. cooooll.!!
Sounds like a nice post rock funeral song
A comet that hasn't been seen in a million years passed through our skies and granted us our 1 wish.
The solo that changed the mayan prediction.
I feel like everyone in the band is so sad this performance, you can hear it in almost everything, anthonys voice, fleas bass playing, chads slow drumming, johns emotional guitar playing, they all probably thought the band was over with out john, but it isnt, just a big part of it left, but its still here...
I agree, you literally can feel the emotion
but chad is a beast in this, so much energy but it's a emotional energy
Nick Rios HES BACK!
And this is one of the reasons that I love this live. Because it "screams" don't forget me literally
Basically it was the last show of the stadium arcadium tour and everybody knew that they will be taking an undefined hiatus because they were all tired after touring non-stop since 1999. Flea told John that he wanted to take a rest and that moment was determinant for John's 2nd departure
Damn, this outro makes me teary.
same dude
I cried the first several times I heard it, and cried some more the first time I played it
I have at about 10 different live versions of this song on my mp4.John plays really simple things but oh my god i love him
All his Don't Forget Me outro solos sound so melancholy, I love it
Used to play this to my cat. My only audience ever! Goes to show how this masterpiece is enjoyed by every soul
John is back! 🥰🥰🥰
Slane Castle represents greatness, one of the best. But this, my friend, is about soul. It comes from the spirit, and it reflects the grandeur of our souls.
makes my soul cry in an amazingly cathartic and beautiful way
I fell in love for the guitar, something he never cared much, but that changed when I began to see Frusciante videos. I just bought one, and I just want one day play 10% of what it plays! FRUSCIANTEEEEEEEEEEE
The solo, It's probably John's goodbye to people before his departure
the whole atmosphere in the concert is so melancholic... we miss you john :( but josh rocks too!
John Is back
he is back!
Damnit i just cannot get enough of their solos :( please John come back ...... :(
from 5.12-5.16 it sounds like the guitars saying, why did you leave why did you leave
how he starts the outro is beyond description....
outro brings tears to my eyes without fail
One of my favourite solos to play on guitar - love it !
the final solo is so "sad" but in a simple great indescribable way!
We'll never forget you John
The most beautiful outro i've heard....
OMFG JOOOOHN!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
These solos are gut wrenching
I'm crying like an idiot! This was the last time they played Don't Forget Me together, and John knew it: he was just standing and playing alone this beautiful outro, and it seems like Flea couldn't finish the song... So sad!
And this is one of the reasons that I love this live. Because It "screams" don't forget me
i wonder if John played this whole song knowing that it would be the last time he would ever do so again..... I fucking love this band
He played it one more time the next day at Leeds. And he will play it again.
I LOVE YOU ANTHONY
Anthony's dance is the description of the music.
man john, your final solo is giving me goosebumps
Such raw emotion from the man himself. What a solo :D
such a beautiful song, thank you guys.
Outro had the whole arena in shambles
insane solo, fucking hell, gonna miss this dude in the band :(
such incredible synergy
John..
@chahid1992 John is one of the finest musicians ive ever worked with, and probably the best guitarist in the world. -Flea
God... 1 second more of that solo and I'd be dead.
John we'll never forget you:)
I love you john
In the beginning of the outro solo, is he only using Delay and Reverb? That solo just like, amazes me :)
John uses tremolo, wah, delay, and reverb throughout the outro
Andy Garvin no tremolo. chorus
He cocks the wah as a sort of sharp boost, some chorus, delay, reverb. I say this but it's still hard to fucking dial in. Actually the Moog phaser might be used.
Makes me cry
essa é pra vc amore.......te adorooooooooooooooooooo
IMO, it's not a perfect performance, but it's loaded with emotions. That jam at the end... My god... Best way for John to say goodbye to RHCP.
my doctor prescribed me a daily dosis of the last solo, needed aplied every two hours :D
I know! He killed it!
I was there!!!
The final solo... The guitar is crying.
love it
holy fuck, this is amazing.
Yeah but who tf is the blue ghost to the right of Chad's kit at 4:02?
Amazing playing on the bass, no-one notices it.
And now hes back
Does anybody know what effect John put on at 4:30 right before the outro?
He just turned up a dial on one of his moogs
(hope you are Austrian just as you have written in your profile...;-) )
Frusciantes playing: thumbs up, Keidis singing: thumbs down!
1:55 Holy Fuck that first note is massive
what year is this? 07?
2006
i love how my favourite part starts at 4:20 :)
@xX4crazy4Xx his vintage boss chorus CH1 is definitely in, but at the end of the song he uses the expression pedal from one of his moogerfooger soundprocessors ... it's quite hard to copy this sound, he has more than 20 effects ^^
Uno de los mejores solos de Frusciante...
El primero o el segundo? En mi opinión ambos espectaculares
Admit it
John is the best!
@TheJohnBuffalo. I'm not sure but I think it's Flange set to a fast rate and John is also using his wah. Hope that helps. :)
john frusciante at 0.40-0:44 made me laugh. look at the way he walks and plays the guitar. pure genius
@JohnChadAnthonyFlea thank you man for your answer! =)
Those Moogerfoogers are pretty expensive, and no normal guitar player has 3 Fullstacks to play with :D
4:07 - Frusciante thinking: Hmm, shall I blow all away with a f*** genius solo?! Hell yeah, let's do it!
Anthony: look I'm a helicopter :)
1:45 awesome drum fill
JOHN IS THE BEST !!!
Does flea uses medium or hard picks?
Chad fucking goes for it!!!!!
Goosebumps..
the chorus is so fucking cool in 0.5 speed and the verses are funny :D
fuck this is a sad solo.
My god, the outro.
This don't forget me live is good, but the one in slane castle really blows my mind, u should check it, there Frusciante plays pure magic
0:11
period
4:49
"isn't he finished yet?"
any ideas as to what effects john has on at 4:45 ?
anyone knows the effect john uses at the outro at 4:20 ?? Kind of a chorus pedal?

+Apfelmann Delay + wah(heel down)
TheEmpyrean1993 thanks!
@xX4crazy4Xx i think he has six of them, his whole pedalboard costs more than 4000 euros/5000$ ^^
check this, it tells you a bit of his setup, maype he's also using his line6 chorus ...
Anyone knows where i can find that of the last solo? Send me pm please.
@onurerk in Slane Castle after Johns "Maybe" :)
Fusciante at his best!
