i understood that its not cost effective, you have to buy the sata ssd the cable and the mounting if needed, i already have an old laptop with that, mine came with an m.2 ssd so i am going to use the space this sata ssd
This is the cable you'd need: amzn.to/3ZHqaeL Not got a source for the mounting brackets - you could in theory just attach it with double sided tape for an SSD.
Yes, but you'd need the specific HP cable, connector and brackets which aren't easy to get. They aren't present if you have a model with an SSD as standard.
Hey thanks for the video, i am confused between HP 14s/15s 5300u 512gb SSD, 8GB DDR4 Dell 3501 I3 11th Gen 256gb, 8GB DDR4 Though hp has better features, i actually don't like it especially the keyboard and the plasticy body What do you suggest, since i saw you 3501 teardown too, i fell both hp pavilion and dell 5000 series are better but they cost too much, Dell doesn't even have a 5300u laptop
You have to either clone the contents of the drive or do a clean install. I have other videos on how to do this - this one is just physically how to install the drive.
Hey i just bought this laptop and the fan is making a lot of noise, is it the same for you? every few minutes the fan starts noisy and when im doing heavy tasks is really annoying, anyone experiencing the same?
The 15s-du1034TU comes with a 2.5" HDD as standard. You may be able to add an M.2 SSD in to the system, but I would advise opening it up and checking for the presence of an M.2 slot as sometimes this is silkscreened on the board and not included on models without a SSD from the factory.
That comes with an M.2 SSD, so will not have the cable, bracket or connector for fitting a 2.5" SATA drive installed - HP don't include these if they aren't being used.
@@auyongmunkeng3111 Only if you can source the additional parts that you'd need, which not really economical as you're looking at £75 in parts if you can even find them. Personally I'd just install a 1TB+ SSD.
very informative especially for the memory slots for both M.2 and optional hdd connector thanks a lot
Glad it was helpful!
Very nicely done. Very professional and well explained. Thank You.
Cheers! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Una pena no poder instalar un segundo disco SSD :(
At 7:10 so you're saying if the model has a PCIe based SSD then it's not possible to install an additional SATA drive on it?
i understood that its not cost effective, you have to buy the sata ssd the cable and the mounting if needed, i already have an old laptop with that, mine came with an m.2 ssd so i am going to use the space this sata ssd
You can, but you'd need the specific HP cable, connector and brackets which aren't easy to get and tend to be expensive.
Excellent, Thank you
Hi
I have 15s-fq5000nia, do you know if i can add ssd or hdd to it?, it came with m.2
I have a 15s-fq, can you install another SATA ssd? What connector do you need 8 pin?
This is the cable you'd need: amzn.to/3ZHqaeL
Not got a source for the mounting brackets - you could in theory just attach it with double sided tape for an SSD.
Quick question: Do you need to remove the battery when installing the SSD?
I have the same question
So is this impossible to add HDD to that box space ?
@Brue Computing plz reply
Yes, but you'd need the specific HP cable, connector and brackets which aren't easy to get. They aren't present if you have a model with an SSD as standard.
i have a 0898 is it possible to upgrade like this also?
Do i need to remove the battery before changing the drive??
Hi, could you suggest/provide a link for the type of adhesive strip which might be needed for the base. Thanks.

Personally I'd probably take the Ryzen 3 5300U over the i3-1115G4. The larger SSD is a bonus too if you need the space.
@@BrueComputing Thank you
Is the operating system installed on the M.2? If so, then wouldn't upgrading the drive cause the laptop to stop working?
You have to either clone the contents of the drive or do a clean install. I have other videos on how to do this - this one is just physically how to install the drive.
Thanks, what is the max SSD you can add to these? - I'm thinking to put a 'Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2' in it
Any single sided M.2 2280 SHOULD work, so 970 Evo Plus 1TB should be no problem.
@@BrueComputing What are the significant problems upgrading using lower brand SSD?
dude, I can't unscrew the nvme, the screw is weird size I tried all the sizes and I have a good kit and nothing works :(
Will this guide be useful on the 15s Ryzen?
Is there a slot to connect the cable for a 2.5 internal
ssd
Yes, but you'd need the specific HP cable, connector and brackets which aren't easy to get.
how about HP Laptop - 15s-eq10117tu can i upgrade my laptop SSD?
How to add another ssd drive for upgrade.?
I think you can only replace the original. I don't think you can have 2 in the same laptop.
Hey i just bought this laptop and the fan is making a lot of noise, is it the same for you? every few minutes the fan starts noisy and when im doing heavy tasks is really annoying, anyone experiencing the same?
Yes
Your airflow probably isn't very good so it's overheating and the fan goes into overdrive, producing lots of noise.
