Honestly floored from that video what the hell. That was some good curio rerolling too. Looking forward to new SU, I just hope they don't push a meta forward like how they did in DU (at least in higher protocols you see it was really meant for break teams). Doesn't seem like it, and as much as I love my curios and blessings it might be a great change of pace.
@@floralfires V6 (iirc, might be earlier) and onward have a dmg reduction whenever the enemy aint broken, which is the original reason I believe that they really were pushing the break meta besides giving absurd hp pools to enemies etc - and it's not like it's v7 or v8; there were rewards to earn from the v6 completion, so they really wanted you to pull for break units. Which I understand in a sense that's how a gacha works, they have to promote the new units, but on permanent content that's just foul imo. With the FART team and the new equation Phantom Thief you can obv clear it, and I believe you can clear v8 with anything as long as you have the blessings / equations that line up with your gameplay. I think the FART team also has the advantage of being able to break no matter what the enemy weakness is thanks to Feixiao's ult. It's one of the strongest teams and maybe the strongest because Aventurine just neutralizes KOs and is a safe sustainer to use in general and that's not something even Lingsha can do (for the "neutralizing ko" part mainly), while hitting absurd numbers in terms of damage. But they really were pushing forward the break meta when DU released in 2.3 - seeing how Destruction became the "break path" and the buffs added to enemies whenever they aren't broken is evidence for that. The Firefly team is also the team that used to clear V6 the easiest because you weren't locked to a weakness (kinda like the FART team). On the contrary, "classic" teams cannot always break enemies leading to big problems sustainwise and damagewise. And don't get me started on counter-based units because they can't do big damage whenever the enemy is broken - and whenever the enemy isn't they have a big dmg reduction. This imo is a factor as to why the Yunli V8 solo mentioned in the video might be really difficult. Maybe DU wasn't based on break teams, but it was certainly easier with break teams at least back then - Firefly could just apply her weakness and brute force any boss. Now with the content they added and the modifications they made, not as much, but it still feels break and now FUA oriented.
@@astreiya It did definitely seem like it was tailored for Firefly in mind, that and the Choir Boss, which also conveniently showed up often in Cyclical, as well as Memory of Chaos
@@WelfareWaifu yeah cyclicals close to always feature Sam (who's nice enough for fua teams) and the eternal show (really good for firefly). Sometimes it's cirrus but it feels rare. not gonna complain because i don't like cirrus that much as a boss but heh
@@astreiya i agree, cirrus feels so unfun to fight when i use anyone other than yunli. its literally that one dot pf as a boss with the constant enemy AA and respawning mobs
If new SU isn't curio or blessing based, it honestly sounds awful to learn. The whole point of SU was kind of dramatically buffing your characters to the point where the damage doesn't really come from them themselves, but the blessings and curios and dice buff. I don't know how they'd make a new, similar mechanic without it appearing repetitive. Although DU has grown on me quite a bit, I still have a heavy dislike for it, and I'm not too sure how the next SU will improve. Besides, if more SU is going to become a regular update, it doesn't sound like a good thing, as older versions of SU might be neglected.

is it really based for break teams? I never use break and divergent seems fine to me. Tbf i do play fart so that may be the reason
