Any straws for drinks?
When we were there, they did have straws. They were paper straws. If straws are a must-have for you, I would email them & confirm they will have them for your visit or, even better, pack your own set of reusable straws.

I am so upset that they are all booked for my March cruise ! Do you recommend something similar ?
Hi Michele. Such a bummer they were booked! I'd recommend either checking out the ship excursions or sticking around the port. They have a bird aviary there along with a huge pool with loungers and a swim-up bar.
Hi Michele, I'm sorry to hear that they are all booked during your day in Costa Maya. Maya Chan offers a very unique experience in their area, so their reservations do fill up quickly. Costa Maya is a beautiful port to explore on your own, but don't give up just yet. Keep in mind that people cancel all the time. Things happen in life. Keep watching for more reservations to open just in case they have a last minute cancelation.

What's the customary tip at these places?
Tips are a little subjective; I feel like I tip based on how much service I ask for & the level of service I get. The service at Maya Chan has always been amazing for us. I would say that a nice standard tip range would be 20% of the total you paid for your visit. They split that tip among all of the staff members who serve you at Maya Chan. If I am constantly having them bring drinks to me in my palpa or in the ocean, I'm going to tip higher for the extra work they put in. Whatever you give them is always greatly appreciated.
