You know, watching this episode really made me realize how much you’ve grown. You guys have really achieved what you wanted with a group of friends talking about Nintendo, with Wood and Bob as the key speakers, and friends who could jump in when they wanted and it feels nice and natural! I know it took time to figure out how to make it all work comfortably and I really felt it today! Enjoyed the ep as always 😊
Now we see why companies do these programs with arbitrary conversion rates. So most people won't ever actually calculate how much they're earning per dollar spent. 😅
For Wood : I would love a "we buy lots of stuff from (insert mom and pop shop)". In the town I live in, we have no mom and pop shops. It's all GameStop's :( . So supporting a local video game business vid would be cool
The next buy video you start it in front of the last store, tell the story, and then have the manager that quit show up and help you buy everything from the Mom and Pop shop.
Gollum: I know the developer. They're located in Hamburg, Germany as I am. Met some of the developers at a few local video gaming events and at university. Based on my experience with playing their other games I knew that Gollum wouldn't become a 100% perfect high-polished game the moment they announced it. I really like and love some of their games, but so far they only did niche indie games that always have some minor flaws here and there, they didn't work on big AAA license games. It was way over their head in scope. By seeing what they produced, the game tuned out better than what I had expected them capable of doing, and that is fine from my perspective. It's a kinda-buggy game that isn't super polished, definitely not AAA, but it isn't totally broken and is still an okay game. The sad thing is that the whole negative backlash and publicity killed their development branch and they won't develop any other games in the future anymore.
I'm so hyped for Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince. People always call this series a pokemon clone but everything Pokemon does wrong, all the previous DQM games have gotten right
I got fired from a gamestop in 2008 for the stupidest reason. It was an extremely small town store where we would make maybe $2-300 a day max on Sundays and I decided to try to change that around and blow out some numbers on subscriptions and reservations. I got all my friends and good customers to come in that day and sign up for Game Informers and preorders, I was literally right at 300 subs that day (remember small town, so these are insane numbers for them) and I took the last sub over the phone from my manager (I was ASM) and the next day the district manager said I was fired for taking a card over the phone. I literally made them so much money that day, and get fired for taking a card from someone who worked there. So stupid and i'm still chaffed about it 15 years later
I'll be real, I stuck up for Scoot last time people were being mean. I dont like bullying, I don't like being mean. But MAN he was tough to deal with his episode. It just felt like there were a lot of times where he was trying to make it the Scoot show. I like the guy but like the bad math where he started yelling so much and the "acshually it's a totally different animation style" moments really stuck out.
I agree the podcast should be just Wood and Bob and the other guys just intersecting when they need some research or something at a specific moment, minus Scoot.
I cried when Professor Layton was announced. Absolute fave game series, played every single one. I thought it was a dead franchise and did not expect a new one and I cannot wait to see what they do with it. Hopefully it does well and it stays around for a long time

I use my Power-Up membership to buy a $10 Eshop card for Five bucks. I let that stack for awhile and buy a $60 game for half off. Now that they've raised the price of it I'm not sure I'm gonna continue next year tho

They have to get their video suggested to new TH-cam users or ppl who don't watch video games, how many other videos it can be suggested with, etc. and.bought all/every" and specifically "Gamestop" have such high algorithmic buzz, plus it's short and sweet - those are way more awkward and less concise which is a must. Honestly, that search engine optimization bit was my favorite part of this cast
It may have been tongue in cheek but I enjoyed the intro! I love this podcast, been listening (I'll put it on in the car or when I'm doing chores) from the very beginning and I feel like it gets better every time, but I think some of the weaker episodes just need a bit more structure for those who listen only. In other words, sometimes intros, transitions, why kind of verbal bumper like an audio bullet point, helps to follow the conversation better. Still, love the podcast.

I haven't been to a gamestop in probably 15+ years. I never liked the way they run their business, and I'm still waiting for the day they have to close their doors for good. It has to be coming very soon.
I want the new console to be called Game Cube Advanced and have it as just a console and your games will work for both that and the switch but only the Game Cube Advanced will play in high resolution. So we get to play in hand-held on switch or better quality on big screen at home.
I don’t get the point in the weird voucher thing you are describing at Gamestop? In the UK, there is a similar place (GAME) and you get points, but it just goes straight on your reward card to use next time. No redeeming vouchers or anything. Seems unnecessarily complicated.

The “not allowed stuff” she did, I feel like she was just trying to be in a fun positive mood because someone is recording a video buying a bunch of games!! I really feel like she was just hands down an incredible lady!! And I don’t blame an incredible person to quit when they had an amazing day and the people you work for are trying to make you feel like 💩!! Like WTF!! I guess it was good timing though!! Anywho!! I rarely buy games from GameStop, I get almost everything on Amazon, not that Amazon is better than GameStop but it’s damn convenient and it’s cheaper!! However if I walk by a GameStop I will tippy toe on in there and have a glance!! ✌️❤️
Did he not ask the store manager before doing this stunt? That would have been the right thing to do and could have avoided someone losing their job over some internet attention. Next time have the store manager think on it and reach out to higher ups before doing something like this. I hope there was a lesson learned here.
