I agree, I really didn’t like last weeks episode when they were mean to skootish and then the rest of the episode he was quiet, in this format if someone has an opinion they get their chance and there’s no side chat going on
This was a really good one I agree! :) And it’s Thursday, which means it’s Nontendo podcast next episode! Looking forward to today’s episode! I feel like since they started it, it has been a process of trying different things and trying to figure out the best format for them and this was definitely one I liked!
I'm thankful for Pokémon Black & White as well as Black 2 & White 2 for delivering one of the most fun and eye-opening videogame experiences I've had. Additionally, for those games delivering the *most complete* generation of games in the Pokémon franchise to date.
Awesome to see Wood even more surrounded with friends now since Kim and him moved. Best decision ever it seems (despite the challenges). Friendsgiving is a super cool idea
I'm thankful for pokemon scarlet and violet because I've been playing with my friends when they are free, and it's brought me a lot of joy while I've been sick.
I'm thankful for Super Mario Galaxy, Xenoblade, Pokemon, Terraria, and Final Fantasy 9 for helping me get through hard times. They have impacted my life in wonderful ways.
Persona 3 and 4 had the most impact in my life. Grew up watching and playing hundreds of hours. Really helped me through tough times and inspired me to be a better person. The characters are what make the game so good compared to the others.
Niiiice i just completed the story of p4g on hard mode for the firt time but 3 is tough! This my second time trying because my first save file got deleted 😭
Chatted with a buddy who works in architectural development. What he mentioned is that Trash/Garbage is king. It rules every project you do and can potentially kill a project if trash isn't accessible. Crazy stuff
Speaking strictly Nintendo, I'm grateful for Star Fox 64. LoZ is my favorite series, but SF64 was one of my very first games and I have soooo many fond memories playing solo, and multiplayer with my cousins as a kid.
I’m thankful for Minecraft, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Phasmophobia as it’s such a creative and well thought out game that I really want to see get fleshed out more and continue to be developed. It’s really brought some funny and friendship building moments
I'm thankful for where video games are at nowadays. It's really handy to have so much games in my game library that I can delete and download whenever I need space or wanting to replay something
World of Warcraft, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Demon's Souls remake, DOOM: Eternal, Jak 2, Old School Runescape, INSIDE by Playdead, Final Fantasy 9, Mario Kart, Far Cry 6, Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Xenoblade series, and Animal Crossing are my magic games💗
This was so wholesome, thanks for sharing your gaming memories and the ones you’re most thankful for. Also loved the Vegemite story and now I’ve got the Happy Little Vegemite’s advert in my head 🤦🏻♀️
Pokemon was my childhood, my first one was actually Pokemon Gold, and I only played Gen 1 after that, so Gold was the one that really left a mark for me, sometimes I just wish I could experience it for the first time in the same context as I did back in the day, no Internet, no spoilers, discussing it with your friends, etc... Nowadays I believe Pokemon could still be awesome if GameFreak wasn't such a mess, Scarlet and Violet had so much potential but failled to deliver in so many levels.
@@DiscordedHaru I'm glad you enjoy it, but I have many problems with these games beyond performance issues. In my opinion Legends Arceus was much more in line with what I would expect Pokémon would become in the future, and S/V despite being the first true open world was a step back in overworld encounters and Pokémon behavior mechanics.
The talk about trash cans amazed me. In my rural Ohio town, you can put down basically any type of trash can. Doesn't matter. And we also have several different trash days, but only one a week for each person. Basically, the town doesn't take care of trash. It's a company you pay. And there are a few different companies that service our area, hence different trash days. But still once a week for each company (I think. Ours is that way at least).
Great episode guys! This episode in particular had such a nostalgic feel of hanging out with my friends back in the day, just talking about video games for hours...lol pre-charcuterie board though, it was oops all Miller Highlife and Doritos. Thanks for all the great content.
For me if we are talking just this year releases on Switch that I'm thankful for then definitely Disney Dreamlight Valley, Splatoon 3, Nintendo Switch Sports, and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. They all have been so fun games to play that have kept my mind off of other crap in my life.
Splatoon 3 has lived up to all of my high high hopes and hype. Have you tried the replays yet? I just looked at my replays for the first time, and damn it is a game changer! Excited to play Dreamlight Valley once it is free...
I am thankful for Tomb Raider. I still remember playing it on the PS1 and only playing Croft Manor when I was really young, doing the obstacle course and locking the butler in the fridge 😂
41:15 I think the term you are looking for is "Occlusion culling" and "View Frustrum Culling". Funny how it's been something for years but I'm confident GameFreak totally forgot about it..
I was literally laughing out loud with the "breaking the law" talks. It really made me think of all the stupid stuff that I've done like this, to the point of no longer thinking about it anymore. I've even had a cop show up, then he said "listen I get off in 20mins, just stop until then please"! 😂😂😂
I am thankful for Mario Kart Wii and Nintendo Land Mario Kart Wii (if memory serves) was my first ever game. Then after I played your Wii Sports etc. then I hopped on the Skylanders train until I got bored one day and decided to look at my shelf and say Nintendo land and decided to give it a shot and I was back on the Nintendo train and Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros were right around the corner. I am so happy to be back :)
Hate that when I talk about COD at school every kinda ignores it like if there is another game more important to play. But I have a great time playing with my coworkers. And makes interesting stories to tell when we go back to work the next day.
I play and enjoy Fortnite now because of the no building aspect now. That part of it I didn’t really understand before and it turned me away. Now I just enjoy it as a fun shooter, running around picking up different weapons and finding new locations and stuff.
@@GoldChocobo77 No offense taken... dunno why you think I would be offended. I was saying it for Skoots sake. It kind of feels like this show is struggling to find content to talk about every week and that they need other people besides Wood and Bob to keep things going and fresh for awhile.
@Medalion yeah sorry I meant no offense to Skoot :) he would deserve to be paid on a podcast, but the reality of a business is it needs to make enough money to start paying more people. And given that Wood and Bob have way more followers, Skoot benefits already from the exposure.
@@MedalionDS9 Really feels like they screwed themselves over on this. Doesn’t help they don’t even bother to make any format and already talk like they are just there to fill time.
Without Pokémon Fire Red, Halo 2 & 3, and New Super Mario Bros Wii, I wouldn't have known I would have a dislike for open world and rpgs (besides Pokémon)
The trash talk really threw me off. I just load mine in my truck, go to the transfer station and throw it in the dumpsters. No ID's needed, no hoops. Just dump and go about your day. Alaska is just different I guess.
I'm thankful the Pokémon company is actually trying to innovate (ignoring the result/bugs). I'm thankful for the steam deck I'm thankful Sony has come to pc. I'm thankful for Coach co-op games. I'm thankful for Capcom. I'm thankful for so many amazing indies this year.
Hmmm... So many games... The reason I met most of my best friends is because I shared pokemon sapphire with the first friend. Then after that we played and talked about a buncha games together.
Bob, I totally agree about classic games and games that I can have fun playing with other people. That’s why I super Mario 30 was so great… Why did Nintendo have to take that away? I love that game!
I also don't get RE4, tried multiple times to play it on PS3/360/PS4/Xbone and just can't... I'm like a couple chapters into the Remake on PS5 but then heaps of stuff started coming out that I'd rather play 🤷♂️ I did love 2/3 Remake though so here's hoping 🤞
Scarlet and Violet are bloody fantastic pokemon games, having played through the game i found the technical issues to be nothing more than a lil distracting . The conversation shouldn't still be so focused on that..its ridiculous. Give the game some credit! It's my favourite pokemon game ever!

Pokémon Yellow, Timesplitters & Tekken 3. Those games probably had the biggest impact on my gaming life.
Very solid 3. Gen 1 Pokémon and Tekken 3 were two of my favorites, and later on Timesplitters Future Perfect(?).
@@whitekj03 It was Timesplitters 2 for me but I really liked future perfect as well

I feel like the anime reallz made people think that the games themselves where bad. Tahtžs just unfair.
