I am a nurse who works with elderly patients in a senior living unit. I’ve been a nurse for almost 16 years. Not just in this field. The more I get to know the elderly patients, the more more I understand that it doesn’t matter to any single one of them, no matter what their diagnosis is or what the outcome may be, all they wish for in their current situation is to be with their families and wish they could go back and do things differently and spend more time with their families. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. Every. Single. Day.

I have a military buddy who lost a 7 yr old to heart problems. The deterioration of the sons health was gut wrenching. My buddy wasnt religious or anything but the last night at the hospital, he said his son was seeing things that weren’t there. At one point while he was kneeling next to his sons bed sobbing, the boy told his dad not to worry then asked his dad who the man was standing behind him smiling with the robe on. He said his son passed shortly after. My friend took it really hard as I’m sure any parent would but somehow he found peace and uses his sons vision as a cornerstone for faith. He told that story at the funeral and I don’t think there was soul there that wasn’t crying. You could almost feel the hope and he said that he wanted to share that story with the people there that were religious.

@Stephen Schneider Bro I can’t stand when people say this. I challenge you to watch videos of hospice nurses explaining what happens to their patients when they are about to pass. These people aren’t hallucinating from “stress” they are simply crossing over. We live in this magical world with things like rain, huge oceans , mountains , beautiful animals etc why is it so hard to believe that there’s more

    • @bairfreedom
      @bairfreedom 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

@Stephen Schneider No.....the death bed visions are not hallucinations. They are all similar as well. Hallucinations are random and crazy. I've studied death bed visions. Some are even shared with loved ones....meaning, the people there see what the dying person sees too.

I volunteered for a few years at the palliative floor of oncology. I’ve also held many hands hours before they passed on …. People always regret not spending time with their family & friends. No one ever cares about how big their homes were or any materialistic things .. that doesn’t matter. I had a few patients tell me that they had more kids.
Best advice hours before my friend passed was “ don’t spend your life angry …. It’s burns your energy source faster. We only get a limited amount of it. Just be kind when there’s no other choice “

The "so much wasted time" was, according to his daughter, spoken by David Cassidy & his reason for saying it, again from the perspective of his daughter had to do with the time he didn't spend with her, which any parent who loves their child can understand. In he end it's not the concerts if one is a rock star, or the privilege, or the money, or the house, or job, or places we got to travel & it's not even the love that was lavished on us (Who regrets being loved?) but the time & love we didn't express to those who mean the most; bottom line...the only thing you or I will regret one day is the love WE didn't give away.

My father is one of twelve siblings. There were 8 girls and four boys. Two of the sisters, Rosie and Janet, were pretty much inseparable from toddlers all the up well into their thirties. Then, like all too often it happens, they had a massive fight, and of course over the most trivial of matters. For almost two decades they wouldn't speak to each other. Then, one day my Aunt Janet became sick and had to be admitted to the hospital. While she lay in her bed, surrounded by family for what would be her last day on Earth, it was announced that my Aunt Rosie had actually been admitted to the same hospital earlier that day.
Upon hearing such news, it was suggested to Janet that Rosie join her in her room. My Aunt Janet obliged. The nurses wheeled in my Aunt Rosie. The two sisters reconciled. Then before long, they passed on together, to whatever awaited them in the next world, within minutes of each other.

Between ice fishing, going to peoples houses, and the little bit of hunting i did i ate very well. Borrow a chain saw to cut up enough wood for the winter. Thing i hate is thats technically "illegal" now.. Technically i coulda have also been busted and if they wanted to be mean could charge ya for felonies and shit. Make it so u never hunt or fish again.. Lose your 2nd amendment rights... All for surviving! Its absolutely BS if you ask me. I should be able to eat trout and venison when ever i want! Snag a rabbit or 2! Without being a environmental terrorist or some shit.. But im wayyyyyy up in Maine as well. Still very strict on hunting/fishing but endless woods. I had my jeep as well luckily, but wear i set up was perfect. I could drive right to it. The 2 property owners i was between i knew both and asked em. I'm currently 29 years old. I've recently had a close family member pass my cousin. My cousin and I were the same age born the same year just a couple months apart. Knew each other since we were babies.. He had an addiction issue and it eventually took control over him. When he passed I didn't know intense it would hit me. I've grieved, I've had regrets and shame but through everything it gave me a new perspective. I've been living for others making others happy, comfortable at the cost of my own. Since I've gained a new perspective I can honestly say I've distanced myself from toxic family members cut toxic friends and I've found more peace in my life than I could ever have imagined. I've learned so much from him. Still hurts to imagine him hearing his voice and watching him play the piano...( Incredible Talent) I miss him and I won't stop missing him. I know he's better now than where he was. He'd want me to live to do what I'm passionate about and surround myself with like minded people and I shall do so.

The honest truth is most people ONLY have value to anyone through work. Most people are rather worthless outside of the work they toil in. I missed birthdays, ball games, dance recitals, Christmas and about every other holiday with my wife and kids. I finally built a dream home for my wife in 2018 and had the best financial years of my life in 2017-2019. "so much wasted time" was the primary motivating factor for me getting clean. 15 years almost completely erased from my history. It's sounds cliche but seriously live today like it's your last day. Don't hesitate to speak your mind, tell someone what you think or how you feel instead of biting your tongue or worrying about their reaction. Stop procrastinating on your goals & dreams. And forget the BS hat you're holding onto, against someone you care about, the relationship is more important than standing firm on your belief.
If you have a beating heart in your chest and a brain in your head, you are capable of achieving ANYthing you want to in life. It quite literally all boils down to taking persistent action. So get ur aass up and go make it happen. NOW.

So much wasted time working rather than spending time with friends, family, enjoying the things that matter. I learned early in my life what’s important. There is something about being in combat getting shot at and not knowing if you’ll ever get home to see the people that you love the most that clarifies where you should spend the time you have left. I’ll never have a bunch of money, but I’m a very rich and blessed man. My advice is certainly work hard to help keep your family fed, warm, and in a good safe home but always remember your kids would rather have your time than get dropped off to school in a new Tesla every year. Also If your spouse would rather have the best of everything than more time with you your with the wrong person. Then again I’m just an old idiot that took a job where people tried to kill me several months a year, and even re-enlisted a few time so I’d keep getting shot at more. Maybe My advice isn’t worth the space it takes up on your screen

My hope is that they're legitimate visitations and not some evil entity masquerading as a loved one to deceive the dying person. I have personally witnessed people who showed "dead man's strength" where the dying suddenly appears to get better and seems like they might recover, to then pass away soon after, and some people who were calling on loved ones like a man saying his grandfather was calling him to go.
Check my channel for a clear Gospel presentation reuploaded from a trustworthy pastor. You can be 100% certain you're going to heaven when you die because salvation is the free gift of God, we absolutely cannot earn it with our "good" works. Jesus Christ paid the price once for all, but unless you accept His free gift then it never becomes yours. Believe and be saved.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

I would think the take away is, doesn’t matter how hard u work, real question is “what are u living for” is it something temporary/finite, or eternal. too many similar examples of icons we love- MJ, Robin Williams, Chester Bennington- having it all yet still missing something.

My Grandmother on her death bed was focused on part of the ceiling whispering as if she was talking to someone. It got to the point where she wouldn't even acknowledge anyone because she was so focused on communicating to whoever she whispering to. When you see things like that, you have to wonder what she was seeing and hearing.

If you don't want to, here's a brief summary:
1: I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2: I wish I didn't work so hard for status and focused more on my meaningful relationships.
3: I wish I had the courage to express my true feelings.
4: I wish I stayed in touch with my friends.
5: I wish I had allowed myself to be happier.

    Churchill’s famous last words were:
“ I am bored of it all.”
Apocryphal or not, you wonder how a man who lived so gloriously , faults and all, could arrive at such a conclusion.
There is a good book on Melancholy by Lazlo Foldenyi who talked about the Spartan leader Leander who became despondent after he achieved all the glory and wealth that he desired.
This shows that such thoughts are not confined to our own milieu. This is the reason why the ideas espoused by philosophers and shown by artists are so important. Focus on your craft, focus on mastering your life.
I always go back to this quote by Seneca.
“It takes the whole of life to learn how to live, and -what will perhaps make you wonder more - it takes the whole of life to learn how to die.”
    Merry Christmas fellow men.

Putting Joe and Bill on opposite sides of their respective frames is good practice because it should show the relationship between the two people in the space, but it’s strange because they’re both on the wrong side. To respect the screen direction of the actual interaction, the position of both of them should be switched, but who gives a fuck because it’s not that deep and we don’t need to keep track of two static people in a static environment.
