they look to me that the remains of grain silos. Water tanks would have posts and the tank would be high off the ground that would let the water in them be able to run by gravity. also that foundation you found in 6.21 that looks like a spring house
I don't know. I remember it was really neat finding those railroad cars in the middle of nowhere, in the woods, like that. I remember the church that I was with at the time rented a cabin, house, right next to, Swatara State Park, right beside I81 too, it was there that we went into the woods from, and found the train cars, they were wooden train cars, very old train cars too. We were wondering if they were left there by a coal mining company a long long time ago. CAMP BARIKELL, was the name of the camp that was rented, and went up into the woods from, the camp was destroyed by fire a couple of years later, it was arson too, the camp has been rebuilt since then I had heard. It was around 2010 when we found the train cars up on the mountain in the woods, they seemed so out of place. I imagined that 100 plus years ago, those woods looked very different, probably had a lot of coal mining going on, on that mountain. Found some old railroad beds up on that mountain too. I'll bet a lot of coal mining on that mountain 100 years ago, don't know though. Take care now. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS THOUGH!!!
Yes... I agree... Your programs are calming and relaxing... You have a calm soothing voice and I am not saying this to make ya feel weird... It is a good thing I think. Oftentimes I play your programs all night long on my while I sleep, etc. For I do suffer from insomnia and sleep doesn't come easy for me. There was an old home, had a legend with it. Now only a foundation, an old story of an old woman who lived alone there and met some tragedy. Some friends of my grandparents took us on a walk back to that area. At that time, I was a youngster in the 60s and only have a limited memory, collection of snapshots in my mind of the little excursion. I did find it online at one time a few years back. It was in the area of Cable Line Road near John Thomas Road in Northern Ohio southeast of Ravenna Ohio. Would love to see someone investigate that and bring some light to the story and the site.
Very nice video WW! When you came upon the round foundations and had seen the fences, I thought they might be silos. The early silos were often much shorter than modern day. But with the RR tracks below it makes sense they were water towers. A fun video and with those holes you discovered, I could see you were choppin at the bite to crawl in there. Something to look forward to and I'll bet you can't wait. I was also thinking about the people who lived there. Being forced away from there homes and then nothing ca,e of it after all that. Of course a park is nice and it did preserve the land, which may have turned into something far less appealing. I wonder why they all relocated and how they felt. I've known people who lost their homesteads to dams and right of way. My Aunt, now 101, live on a farm with a mill and the old pictures showed how beautiful an area it was. The mill was post and beam and wooden siding, four stories and in good shape. The house was beautiful as well. All under water now. It was sad for the family when all was lost and they didn't receive the true value of their land, adding to the heart break. Is that progress? Was it so people could wash their cars and water their lawns? I realize the population has increased but the use of farm lands doesn't hold much consideration when it comes to development and shopping centers and now big box stores. Perhaps one day we shall be tearing up many places trying to reform the land again,,,,,after all the top soil was sold off. We shall see. And now there are many abandon shopping malls. May be they can use them as reservoirs and attach a car wash to the side. Hopefully, the free energy non polluting cars will be in use then. Those could be remnants of water tanks, but most railroad water tanks I've seen are significantly elevated. Along the Northern Central in York Co. there was an oil depot that was serviced by the RR. It was for home heating oil and there were 3 tanks. Not used since the 1970's and were removed about 15 years ago. They were ground level. Similar in size.
Wondering if you've ever found any bottles?? When I go exploring I find alot of them. I've found them as old as 1860's up to the 1970's. I also explore n old steel mill. Joliet Steel works. The land slightly west of me doesn't usually have many trees, but often on empty land when you see standing trees they indicate where a farm or ranch once stood. In the winter when the weeds aren't too tall you'll sometimes find wooden wagon wheels or just their parts, the remnants of old farm implements or wind mill towers that used to lift water above ground for livestock. Trails or paths that once led to the farms or ranches aren't too obvious. Sometimes the shoulders of the paved roads that led past the places show where the paths were once located. Sometimes it is hard to imagine that so many more people once lived in these remote and rural areas.
Circles seem like water tanks, but may be to far away from the railroad, unless possibly all those roads were some kind of rail beds. An old Hagstrom road map may show what was there originally. The first hole with rails may have been a train service pit. Hard to tell.
I'm going to agree with some of the others that those look like silo bases, likely the corrugated metal type. Makes sense with the fencing around. Probably a dairy farm. Bet you'd find the barn in that thick stuff! Great video. Alot to see there for sure.
Hi Cliff and all others.. These deeper ol cellarhole..i think they are from the 1700-ties. I remember the old big church you were that was also buil in full sandstone from outsdie. I think that were cellars for all sort of things Here in southern germany we have buildings from the 15. to the 16.Century that look like that.. And oler celar here from earlie where wine and applecider was made then. Maybe a farmer from southern germany buil that.. But is there so much sandstone with that colour around?? In my eyes these cellers have seen the french -englihh war in the 18.century.. Was there a outpost or a bigger company warehoue..because the old ways around look like they are also over 200 year old.wie enough to drive a coach there an rie a 3 men wie formatn,what wa usua then in the days. We have in Germany france and Britain similar hitoric things. For Riders and mounted messenger riders..Also for coaches that were late and had no place to rest then..

18:30 That refrigerator is a death trap. Kids died because they climbed inside and the door LATCHED shut. The only way to open them was from the outside. All NEW refrigerators have doors that are held closed by magnets, that can easily be pushed opened from the inside.

My phone is a cheapie, I don't believe I have a torch app on it...but maybe I do...I'm not the most technilogical person.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 Hi, a lot of smart phones have the app it's in the drop down menu at the top of the screen, just put your finger on the top part of the screen and pull your finger down twice. You should see it where it shows signal, battery power etc. x

East of the area you were at there's a structure right along 443 at 40.528809,-76.474650. Was there a coal mine or quarry in the area?
Old maps don't indicate anything being there, but the building definitely looks like some kind of coal or grain loading structure.
