Remove the lower plastic cover using a torx screw driver for the 6 screws. Then tighten the large bolt going sideways. Make sure the rack can still swing down after tightening before reinstalling the plastic covers.

My cable lock has the same issue. So frustrating!

HERES YOUR FIX: place rack into receiver . Tighten knob down , then move the rack around inside the receiver as you tighten the knob. Up and down side to side. You’ll get at least another half turn . The rack will be tight inside receiver and no bounce

I literally just got this yesterday and same problem. I was looking on TH-cam for possible solutions. Hopefully we find something, otherwise it may be going back.

Hello, my bike rack has the same movement on the bottom base. I've never had a problem moving bikes, but I'm concerned that something bad could happen.
Is there any way to fix the problem?

It’s not tightened within the hitch mount

Mine did that at first, then I realized that I had to turn the red handle with the key in so it actually grabbed and tightens. It will push out within the trailer hitch and should be very secure

I managed to solve the problem, I leave you a video for you to see.
1º.- Remove lower plastic base screws (Torx)
2º Separate both parts of the plastic base carefully, using a flat-head tool. (You must be careful as it has plastic hooks that go under pressure and join both plastic parts)
3º tighten the screw that is seen in the video, using two tools.-
With this you eliminate the lateral movement completely and there will only be a slight vertical movement, which is normal for the "tilt" system.
