Came across a vaillant flue with a couple of elbows. The customer said the boiler was leaking. I checked the inside and it was all dry. The flue had a decent drop from outside. When I undid the xollar screws I was as shocked as you. 4 to 5 cm gap and a big collar to cover it up. The flue condense pipe was just touching the seal.
Recently came across a baxi duo-tec, with the flue pinned with a screw that reached the centre of the extension, been serviced every year by local authority too
Top vid Broski. I had two weeks off recently, back to work and the trusty transit van died on me, what an absolute f-on changing vans racking etc, easier moving homes.
Well..... the Friday before my two weeks rest I collected her from the garage after an Mot and Service. She sat on the drive two weeks, fired her up for work and it started leaking oil, followed by smoke, a lot of smoke, Greta would of had a heart attack. She was a 2010 Swb Transit, needed replaced to be honest so got a 22 transit L2 H2, massive but I can see my van floor now which is welcomed changed of events ha.
nice one! Im literally going through the chimney / flues section of my gas training so this is great. I hope you let HSE know about this! Definitely should riddor this! ID!!!!!!
I found a vaillant ecotec once with flue in a void it was approximately 8 meters long and had fully rusted through most of the way along it. It was one of the worst installed flues I had ever seen. At the time boiler was 6 years old. But it was used 24/7 replaced the whole thing 🎉
Found same with these aswell - not connected properly!! Had to change some of the new vaillant energy R rear exit flues too cuz they're not long enough, cant see any white of the flue on inside of boiler or the screws ya shud see!! 🤷♀️🙌 Well spotted lad!!
Hell fire that gas flue installation was appalling and as you say highly dangerous. Am not a techie, wondered if you check for negative polarity to protect yourself? Saw YT vid where sparky called in due to eratic behaviour think of the led lights and found when meter been changed for smart the + - tails got reversed going into the Henley block.
What's the most dangerous job you've done across?? Don't forget to hit the LIKE & SUBSCRIBE buttons 👊🏾

Oh damn! I do carry out safe isolation and polarity checks where necessary, but yeah that's scary!
Was there last night boxing was good 👍
