Thank you so much for this big secret, none of dealership calls would tell me anything, they don't want people to know about this type of part, this explains why there's no relay under the hood and clutch doesn't click. Thank you. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Ricky G you are the man ! A/C stopped working in my son's 2013 Corolla. A/C Switch light was on and fan comes on but nothing from the compressor. The shop told him he needed new compressor & a/c kit. He paid the shop and guess what still no a/c and they dropped him like a hot potato. I took it to another shop and they said the new install of parts was good nothing wrong but no signal to start the compressor. I found your video and you were spot on with location and removal. This board looks like it has a small burn mark on both sides same location. So next week instead of going to the dealer I am going to one of the local salvage yards and see what I can find. If I find one in good condition I'll see if that is the issue before I plunk down $425. For those of you having a hard time locating this on a 2013 Corolla. Like RickyG stated it is just to the right of the gas pedal. I removed a the small bottom section of trim and there she was. Took less than 10 minutes after watching this video. Thanks RickyG !!
@@lionheart0750 I bet they are good cars. You wouldn't believe the amount of people pulling their hair out looking for relays/fuses for this system myself included. Your video and comments confirmed I was chasing a ghost. I'll let you know how it turns out next week.
@@lionheart0750 Sorry for the delay. Still no a/c but what I did find is mice got under the inside dash and chewed thru 2 wires. Both wires green and white go to the same 2 wire male connector that looks like it plugged into a thermistor or temp sensor of some sort. It is real close to this control board in your video. Going to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can identify and sell a replacement male connector with a pigtail.
It is call the AC amplifier, mine was that the AC come slow and stop. When I switch off and on the AC, it come back again. The temperature dial is almost none existence (do nothing).
Ricky, thanks for the video; I believe this is my problem for a '09 Corolla. Only difference is my A/C light does light up. I will take the amplifier apart to see if it's burnt.
Bryan, my A/C lighted up. I just needed to add about 2 oz of freon. But the prior year, I had to replace the A/C Compressor Electric Control (Low Pressure) Valve, Then I had to vacuum it down and charge it with about 1 lb. of freon. Ron
@@ronrandall7118 this one stopped cooling out nowhere.so I changed the flow sensor and control valve prior to that I had perfect amount of Freon now I don’t have signal to compressor or fans to turn on.last thing is that ac amplifier wish me luck thank you Ron
Does your a/c compressor use clutch because I think this new type of A/C systems in Toyota cars use clutchless a/c compressor controlled by a displacement control valve.
no it doesn't use a clutch... it has a variable dispalcement wobble plate inside that adjusts to a certain angle depending on the demand for compression made by the AC computer
I also have the same problem i also changed this module but didnt work then mechanic changed outer main ecu than ac and also rpms were stavle my mechanic told me that u have problem in ur main ecu because it is not communicating with this inner module what shud i do shud i change the outer ecu or there is anothee possibility
I need help I have a 2013 my air wont blow at all the av light doesn't come on when pressed but the heater light comes on but it doesn't blow at all help please
Stealership as we mechanics called them, quoted me almost $750 with tax, but we get discounts and brought it down to $680 with tax included......... thanks but I'll try the junkyard this time 😅
Did you have to program it or anything with a computer? I'm having the same issue with my Sienna, and the dealership is quoting $2900. I'll have to cash part of my 401k for that bill. Mine's behind the glovebox. 2 screws, 2 bolts, and a couple peices of trim. If it's easy as swapping, I can ebay it all for a few hundred.
an electromechanical wanted to scam me with 500 dlls. He told me that he had to disarm the entire electrical system, the solution was simple, I investigated and I came to the same thing as the video; the air conditioning module. 50 dlls in a junkyard and that it. Symptoms: no A/C, no backlight in the A/C controls.

there is no relay for the AC compressor... everything is controlled by the AC computer... you might have to replace the computer all together

the part is lacated by the gas padel to the right,,remove the cover and you will see the module,,,easy to get to,,,,no nightmare like others,,,,
Anyone know where’s the location on 2017 Toyota Corolla se, thanks 😊
Found a video that shows it. In the back of the dash, driver side, close to the gaz pedal

yes …under the dash on the drivers side…to the right of the gas pedal

A/C Amplifier
Did it work? Mine did the same thing
yes it did work but the compressor also needed replacing...easy fix though

Where is the fuse or rely for the AC
there is no fuse or relay for the AC in this model... everything is controlled by AC computer
