moon jo's last moment with jong woo was literally "choke me, daddy". the fights they had were felt toxic, abusive, but still sexual, cause they connected on a physical and mental level in one way or another. It was very unsettling. But the actors did a great job. I also loved the soundtrack, if you listen to the lyrics of the songs, they fit perfectly with the scenes where you hear them and they reveal even more mental struggle.
I think that's a mistranslation. He uses the word 자기, which can be used in romantic relationships as "sweetheart." But the origin of the term is that it means "self" or "oneself" and the reason it's used as a term of affection is because you are calling the other person a part of yourself, or the same as yourself. So to an untrained ear, it can be interpreted as "babe" but if you think about it, he's likely calling people "myself" because he is trying to perfect image of himself in them (which he does in Jong Woo at the end)
I watched it, just not convinced he's gay. I just think that, he sees the guy like as a thing that he likes, an artwork that he made that he really adores.

Jongwoo: "I will kill you" Moonjo: "mmm that was hot" No but really, these characters' dynamics were some of the best I've seen in fiction. The rooftop scene is just *chef's kiss*, the fact that despite being the scariest person on his whole environment, Jongwoo seems to connect with him at the beginning because, eventually, Moonjo was right about them being alike. They share the murderous instincts, the superiority complex, and the urge for control. The difference is that Jongwoo has learned to suppress his violent tendencies because he's compliant to moral guidelines while Moonjo is way above them (he was raised by a killer as well so it's understandable that he has no sense of what's right and wrong). The whole story seems to tell us how Jongwoo is so depressed because everything in his life seems to be out of his control, the city devouring him from the very first minute (it's very significant how he steps his foot in Seoul first time and someone is already being mean to him breaking his laptop and not giving 2 fucks about it), people taking advantage of him, a job that he isn't really sure how to do well (and his coworkers won't help), the financial pressure... My take on it is not that Moonjo is a calculated, cold psychopath who just consciously manipulates him into being his sidekick. He thinks that way about the other tenants, but not him. I think that he just genuinely believes Jongwoo would be more happy and free if he let go of society's expectation of what being a good person means, that he would feel good and in control when he kills the people who look down on him and make him miserable, so why is he not doing it? The fact that murder is wrong has no meaning for him, cause it brings him joy. And he seems to "fall in love" with Jongwoo when he seems to empathize with that idea, when he describes the mind of the killer in his novel. So he just wants to "liberate" Jongwoo and convince him that it would be better if he did as he does, and fulfilled his murderous tendencies (which are there from the beginning). Moonjo doesn't see him as a victim to predate on but as a person who's better than the rest (as he also thinks of himself), and as such he thinks he should have the power. That's why he smiles when Jongwoo acts up instead of being frustrated as he is when the other characters don't follow along with his intentions. I love how Moonjo is an absolutely deranged villain, like his moral compass is way more than broken, but it's also a very consistent character that acts according to his own distorted perception of the world, "protecting" Jongwoo and "opening his eyes" about how the people around him do not care about him at all. In his eyes, Jongwoo is such subject to pressure from others when he should just "do what he wants" and he.just.can't.get.it. Details like the moment when he's filming him, or staring at him lovingly or him giving his collection of murder trophies as a gift to him just makes the character vulnerable enough to find him interesting, instead of just a plain psycho killer machine. Nothing in the show is random really, every scene tell something about the character's psyche.

@@annemend8776 he's such a good actor, he gets in the character so well that makes you worry haha. The best part is that I even think that some of this nuances were added to the story by his great interpreting skills and micro expressions. He really brought the character into life
@@eykyra Yes, you are right, a creative actor in complex characters like strangersfrom hell and also mad and crazy perhaps because he was born in november as Scorpio guy haha
I like the way you described everything! Сan you please explain why Jongwoo is his masterpiece? Jongwoo didn't look free after, and he didn't become, I think, what Moonjo wanted him to become. he had done this before, for example, with the guy from 302. and the result turned out better in terms of 302 accepting himself and also began to enjoy. I can't understand why Jongwoo is his masterpiece. it seems like things didn't quite work out the way he might have wanted. Besides, Moonjo sacrificed literally everything for Jongwoo's transformation/metamorphosis.
@@honestnet1645 I think the ending part is very open to interpretation, so this is my personal understanding, but you are right, Moonjo's plan wasn't fullfiled in my opinion. The way the events are sort of "cleared out" at the end it seems like Moonjo isn't really there when he says that line (regardless of if you think he escaped or died) and Jongwoo is talking to himself. It seems like he has assimilated Moonjo's figure as sort of a second identity, due to all the trauma and stress he's been put through, and that image of Moonjo is what he perceives. To be honest he does brainwash the other guy and turned him into basically a copycat and that's something that Jongwoo could easily see (they even dress and speak in a similar manner, etc), so it makes sense that Jongwoo believes that's what he wants to do to him (and that it's actually working in a sense), and maybe that's where this line makes sense, but from Moonjo's perspective it doesn't seem to be what he would like to happen. He does everything to eliminate the "obstacles" in his life and uses his girlfriend to lure him in expecting that he will end up killing everyone there and eventually realize that's what he's meant to do, but it fails because Jongwoo's brain is unable to accept the truth and breaks down (he sees Moonjo doing all the killing because he can't process the fact he did all that himself). About sacrificing everything, I think he does it willingly. To be completely honest the other tenants were just tools for him, and Jongwoo seemed to be more important, so that was easy. About the landlady, there is a critical scene in which they kind of argue and you can tell Moonjo has decided to part ways with her, because she doubts his thing with Jongwoo will work (just like with his previous "sidekick"). But it's also interesting how he changes his own rules due to progressively getting more obsessed with Jongwoo. He kills the other guy for killing spontaneously and not in an "artistic" way, but then he does the same exact thing with Jongwoo's boss just because it pisses him off to see how he treats him, so it kinda makes sense that at the end he doesn't mind if Jongwoo kills everyone in the gosiwon if that's what it takes to get him. Another hint that tells you that the Moonjo in the fight scene is not the real Moonjo is that he's been trying to protect him from harm all the show. I don't think Moonjo will intentionally hurt him given how carefully he treated his wounds when he got into a fight and he even used anesthesia. I think the fight scene is just Jongwoo metaphorically facing the monster in his head, cause he seems to be convinced that the only way to end things once and for all is either he kills Moonjo or Moonjo kills him. But for the real Moonjo, killing Jongwoo was never an option.
see the thing is that their relationship was so extremely toxic and messed up and i do not support it BUT the dentist really saw something in him he knew he was the one. it was actually very interesting to see a psychopath so attracted mesmerized and obsessed with someone. he enjoyed that jong woo was so submissive and got intimidated by him, that he was afraid, young, alone and innocent so he manipulated him to shaped him in exactly what he wanted and make him his (which is fucked up but at the same time attractive lmao) now i need the read the webtoon
EXACTLY. Like a lot of people seem to see the relationship as black or white like "ew how could you ship this he's a psycho he doesn't have feelings" Well excuse me? Like of course, this is not a healthy relationship that is out of the question, but to see Moonjo's character as feeling-less only scratches the surface of the show and does not do justice to lee Dong wook's sublime acting here. From his perspective, Jongwoo really becomes the most important person in the world (to the point that he's really willing to get rid of all the cult members including the person that raised him), and you can tell by his reaction to him that he finds him interesting, fascinating, and from his -very not healthy-point of view it's very beautiful, at the end he's happy because he finally found his perfect partner, because Jongwoo turned out to be on his level and not disappointing like the rest of the criminals he has hanged out with so far. He's in some sense "in love" with him as in a "my life is now complete, I can stop searching" way of understanding it. The point is not whether to "ship" the characters or not, the relationship is really there and developed, it's just that is not a very good one for a normal, healthy person, but that was really obvious taking on account almost no character of that show is in their right mind (F for the poor rapper :___( )
how can a 5-minute vid gives a lump in my throat, butterflies in my stomach and at the end stab my heart, like im going crazy with just this short vid, can i handle the whole series???
@@faithall4561 no but there is a lot of chemistry between the male leads. You could maybe say it's bromance but it's a very toxic relationship. E8ther we you should Watch it it's a dark psychological thriller ad the screenplay and effects are masterfully done. It's a great case study.
Their relationship was fascinating cause lee dong wook was obsessed with him and the desire go pass on him as his own masterpiece really made him take implusive decision-making. But i have to give credit to the directors for staying true the idea of a real psychopathic mindset cause they (psychopaths) don't really care for anyone other than themselves and there aren't "no family " cause the end proved that the only loyalty he has is to him being the best and creating the best of his kind making him belive he can be god like when its more with superiority complex with obsessive behavior with extreme killing nature absolutely loved it! They really nailed it with " you are the best masterpiece i have created" and "honey now you and i will be together forever" cause he will haunt him rent free through ptsd lol brilliant!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a boo boo. MoonJo is alive. It took me a minute but any scene in which his hair was wet did not happen because he never went up on the roof. He showed up in the elevator at the hospital and went upstairs to give Jong Woo his bracelet back. So good!
“ You the best thing I ever created”... yes, you become a monster like him when you killed him... that what he thought... I wonder what trauma from the pass that made him like this or he just born evil...
the quality of this drama really surprised me... really well done, all the actors and actresses were amazing and the soundtrack is perfection. Just... gosh I'd love a second season and for moonjo to be alive but I know it can't happen 😭
I I have a feeling that Moon Jo still is out there because he is really smart and cunning. I felt like in that scene when Moon Jo had Yoon in the chair he knew he finally broke him and his mind. I think while he was killing everyone in the building Moon Jo actually left knowing he succeed in completing his artwork and that whole scene of them fighting was just yoon's imagination. I was thinking because yoon he can't tell what reality is anymore and I think when we saw moon jo at the ambulance scene that was actually him and he knew at that moment that they will be together forever because you don't have to actually die or kill your psychopath person for them to be imprinted in your mind what if moon June imprinted himself and yoon's mind and subconscious and that's all he had to do cuz he never touch you at all throughout the whole entire series except for the ending (may not be real)he just whispered in his ear like a devil or Angel I think he actually was at that scene he left and I think he's going out to make some more babes/victims. This show need a season 2.
@@markleesbruisedknee it's not based on Novel but this story adopted by Webtoon named 'stranger from hell' And actually moon joo is a new character it's only exist in this movie
“Babe” it sounds like babe in Korean to the untrained ear but it can also translate into myself, and he was trying to create more of himself through others and he happened to be the best creation he made that resembled him the most, maybe even outdid him, seo moon-jo was trying to create the best art creation out there and he did 😁 serial killers I love them I love learning about them I also love the fact that moon-jo Didn’t care if he died or lived because in the end he knew he would never die fully because he Became a part of his creation and the girl cop because she has PTSD so she sees him through hallucination so technically he isn’t dead and that was his point to create art and he knew he would never fully die you’ll always be a part of somebody I love moon jo and his thinking
MoonJo is strangely spiritually advanced in some ways. The idea that there is no death because the body is not our true identity and that we are all one/ connected is a spiritual principle. MoonJo not only talks about this at various points in the series but he seems to embody it as he smiles even when he’s going out. And then on the other hand he is a psycho that believes that everyone is inherently evil and likes watching people suffer, which is not so spiritual. 😂 He’s such a weird and complex character.
the last scene where the girlfriend watches Jung woo talking to himself and the scenes cut to Moon jo after Jung woo allegedly killed him is kinda hinting that Moon jo is alive. Of course, the policewoman seeing him in the elevator and jungwoo seeing him on the street are from PTSD but it seems like our psychopath killer is alive. I watched the last episode wayyyyyyy too many times. I think he might be alive.
damn, I am not really into horror or thriller ... but I know this one actor is really good. I am so curious to see him as this kind of character... I might just watch this
This movie is not even about boy x boy lover but damn the tension is out of this worlds, how both skilled at acting and the chemistry exploded it's make it more sensual then the real bl show
Some people truly age like wine, even though in Lee Dong Wook's case he doesn't look like he ages at all (I wanna know his skincare rutine ;-;), but he just keeps getting more and more handsome. In Goblin he was already dashing, but then in this and while hosting produce x 101 and his own talk show, I thought 2019 is definitely his year. But now I saw him in Tale of the Nine-tailed and here we go, he's even more breath-taking. While I've seen clips of him in the early 2010's he was goodlooking, but I didn't find him *that* handsome. Looking at him now I have to rewatch all his scenes multiple times first around 5 times just to enjoy every inch of him and then another time to see what actually happened in the scene besides him
Yea I am curious about that too. During 2011-2012 LDW’s beauty started to properly sprout and then from 2014-2015 something happened and his sexiness exploded . He became like unbelievably handsome and sexy . I also wanna know what happened that he became out of the world sexy
I haven't watched the series but I have to say that Dong Wook's acting (from what I can see in this video) is freaking AMAZING!! I've always liked him so this intrigues me soooo much!
" I am excited !! I'll be waiting in your room ^_*" I REALLY WANT TO BE A STRAIGHT GIRL BUT I CAN'T!!🙃 . . . And the way he is pinching his neck..AHGHGGGKKJ I CAN'T DO THAT 😳😳

Jieun is the girlfriend's name ;) but yeah.. I agree with u! It's kinda like a yandere behaviour? It's still really different but the vibe is here : killing someone because u love him, the obsession he has towards him so he never wants to leave him alone, the heavy jealousy, the fact that he said to him that he will be with him forever even when he was dying- so he will still be living in jungwoo's mind : here another kind of obsession behavior, the compliments and the 'honey' 'babe'.. blablaaa~ ... so yeah ! @@annemend8776 he's such a good actor, he gets in the character so well that makes you worry haha. The best part is that I even think that some of this nuances were added to the story by his great interpreting skills and micro expressions. He really brought the character into life
@@eykyra
Yes, you are right, a creative actor in complex characters like strangersfrom hell and also mad and crazy perhaps because he was born in november as Scorpio guy haha

Amazing video! This series has been constantly on my mind ever since I've watched it. Especially these two.
Name pls?
@@allshipper1857 You mean, of the drama? Strangers from Hell.
Thanks a lot!!
Is it bl
@@faithall4561 no but there is a lot of chemistry between the male leads. You could maybe say it's bromance but it's a very toxic relationship. E8ther we you should Watch it it's a dark psychological thriller ad the screenplay and effects are masterfully done. It's a great case study.
Their relationship dynamics kinda reminds me of hannibal and will graham...in a way
I totally agree! Especially the 3rd season of Hannibal.
You're right 😍
Fuck! Now I have to watch🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈💖💯
Omg same!!!!!! Especially the part where he says "you are the best masterpiece i ever created"
Same here
Their relationship was fascinating cause lee dong wook was obsessed with him and the desire go pass on him as his own masterpiece really made him take implusive decision-making. I wish they have a season 2!!!!!
“Leave me alone,I will kill you”
And then he answers
“Am excited,I will be waiting in your Room”😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😳😳😳

What is this soap joke that I see in every BL comment section ?? Tell me too

My BL a$$ shipper shipped this two
I really want this drama season 2 coming
Wait what? There is season 2?
huh season 2? Hold up
I don't know, i wish

Moon jo's dead, what is the point of making season 2, i mean. I would like s2.
I feel like a boo boo. MoonJo is alive. It took me a minute but any scene in which his hair was wet did not happen because he never went up on the roof. He showed up in the elevator at the hospital and went upstairs to give Jong Woo his bracelet back. So good!
I noticed the same... the police girl wasn't having hallucinations.... he did met jongwoo in the last minutes of end
song choice: 10/10
this whole video:10/10
“ You the best thing I ever created”... yes, you become a monster like him when you killed him... that what he thought... I wonder what trauma from the pass that made him like this or he just born evil...
Everyone: This is the best psychologic thriller kdrama I have ever seen
Me: Why they are so cute, I am going to be crazy ahhhhggg
Drama name kya hai
the quality of this drama really surprised me... really well done, all the actors and actresses were amazing and the soundtrack is perfection. Just... gosh I'd love a second season and for moonjo to be alive but I know it can't happen 😭
I'm not a fan of dark movies/dramas/stories but this kept me on the edge of the chair and finish watching it satisfied
THE TENSION BETWEEN THEM>>
The scariest and most beautiful drama I have ever seen 🔥
The darkest drama ever!!!!!!!! Dongwook played his character exceptionally well!!!! So worth the watch
This video is a masterpiece... song too...
Ok but why did i actually ship them together 🤦♀️
😂me too lol

My gosh,, This drama is so underrated!!! IT WAS 100% GOOD, especially the plot!!! I recommend it if you want thriller and mystery
I love this drama so much I swear I want a second part of it I love my favorite dentist Seiko 2024 😂❤
I NEED A SEASON TWO NOW!!!
“Babe” it sounds like babe in Korean to the untrained ear but it can also translate into myself, and he was trying to create more of himself through others and he happened to be the best creation he made that resembled him the most, maybe even outdid him, seo moon-jo was trying to create the best art creation out there and he did 😁 serial killers I love them I love learning about them
I also love the fact that moon-jo Didn’t care if he died or lived because in the end he knew he would never die fully because he Became a part of his creation and the girl cop because she has PTSD so she sees him through hallucination so technically he isn’t dead and that was his point to create art and he knew he would never fully die you’ll always be a part of somebody I love moon jo and his thinking
This drama is EPIC~ .
damn, I am not really into horror or thriller ... but I know this one actor is really good. I am so curious to see him as this kind of character... I might just watch this
This is the best fan made i've ever seen for this serie! JUST AMAZING

This video is PERFECTION! The song fits so well with the vid OMG!! I'M IN LOVE
I also wanna know what happened that he became out of the world sexy

lmao its like yandere bc he peek him trough a hole and say "you and i will be together forever" plus he called him "darling, honey, babe" and say "you are handsome" for 2-3 times. And he look jealous when he look at pitcure which is jong woo with his girlfriend(dont remeber her name).this is just my opinion:)
Jieun is the girlfriend's name ;) but yeah.. I agree with u! It's kinda like a yandere behaviour? It's still really different but the vibe is here : killing someone because u love him, the obsession he has towards him so he never wants to leave him alone, the heavy jealousy, the fact that he said to him that he will be with him forever even when he was dying- so he will still be living in jungwoo's mind : here another kind of obsession behavior, the compliments and the 'honey' 'babe'.. blablaaa~ ... so yeah ! It's really interesting
i agree, he was so obsessed and so it can be mistook for love but they seriously had lots of tension
Best psychological thriller ever! I wish it was BL tho haha, best edit of these two
