So I guess two-time MVP Nikola Jokic doesn't make the top 50. Yet, Luka comes in 20th (and I don't have a major issue with Luka being in that range). But, if you have Luka 20th, Jokic has to be somewhere in the top 50. Top 12 must be in some order: Jordan, Kareem, Bird, LeBron, Magic, Duncan, Kobe, Hakeem, Shaq, Curry, Moses, Dr.J.

He did say that playoff success matters alot in this list, so I get having jokic left off since he's had basically 0. Luka should've been at 50 if he was going to put him on, but I can live with it since every other player seems fair and has good reasons for it.

@Raymond Sims Exactly. Not all rings are created equal and his one ring is astoundingly impressive, maybe the most impressive Championship run since the Cavs in 2016.
Not really , if you think that there are 3 or 4 people that wont make the list since its only for the last 50 years , Giannis being at the 17th range is actually pretty fair currently
KD over Giannis? KD doesn't have a ring or a finals MVP. They were awarded to him, but they don't mean anything. Giannis has real hardware, that took GREATNESS to win. KD and Giannis arent in the same conversation. Different cut, different cloth.
Nick, how is KD 1 spot above a man that shot chart exists almost entirely at the rim? His shooting percentages are so high almost exclusively because of this fact. KD on paper destroys Giannis in every way outside of defense. Love this list and both your shows, but I can’t understand this one.
Tbf, all of those things haven't exactly helped KD much. Giannis has already almost accomplished as much as KD has throughout their careers and he's only 28 or so?
A bucket is a bucket no matter where you score from. So is shaq not better than kd for the same reasons? Giannis is a way better defender a better passer a more efficient scorer, all kd has over Gianni’s is shooting.
The closer to the top the list gets the more ridiculously it’s discussed. That isn’t to take anything away from these all time talents, but he acts like because they didn’t play with top 50 players the teams were scrubs without them. Zeke played with 2 other hall of famers and some amazing role players. KD and Giannis are in similar situations. Giannis NEEDED role players to help him get over the hump to win a championship, KD needed one of the best teams in history to help him win championships. The idea these players just achieve these things alone the way he implies is just absurd.
@@IknowMoreThanYou I didn’t say they were the same, I also didn’t say KD had role players. I said he played on one of the best teams ever. The Warriors have some guaranteed Hall of Famers. My point is all of these guys needed really good players around them to get to the peaks they have. However, Nick has discussed them as if they played basketball 5v1 because everyone on the team isn’t top 50. I’m trying to point out how the discussion is framed, not necessarily the validity of the ranking.
Luka aside, this list has been pretty solid (for the most part). But yeah, Giannis only being 6 spots ahead of Luka at this point in their careers is something.
Look at Jordan's roster at that time, it was one of the weaker teams in the NBA. They also just hacked him anytime he entered the lane. Was the best player in those series.
Thomas had some good teammates that you didn't even bother to mention, which is what we call cherry-picking, Nick. You bring up Rodman and Tripucka but fail to mention Dantley, Dumars or Mark Aguirre.
Not to mention Rodman was at his best during his Pistons years and won 2 DPOYs. And Detroit only beat LA with Magic missing significant time with an injury
@@jackierichardson8040 Yeah, fans don't realize that Pistons team struck at the perfect time. I think Luca has moved up to #19 because got beat by a historically great player in steph curry who has dropped 40 in finals game now
Facts 😂😂😂😂😂
Kawhi & the clips win the chip next year & Luka will become top 15 all time regardless due to his play vs them in the playoffs in years prior! #Nick’sLogic
??? Steph had 40 against Toronto
KD doesnt deserve that ranking. Always surrounded by megastars, so automatically his 2 titles and 2 finals MVP is irrelevant. He chokes in the first time he plays an equal caliber team.

As far as I'm concerned, Giannis should be even higher. Being the best player and best defender on the planet simultaneously for 4 years in a row means a lot imo. I think he should've won MVP and DPOY all of the last 4 years. If he hadn't been drafted by a garbage franchise like Milwaukee his resume would be even better.
1 finals appearance & 1 Chip stop it. YOU PLAY THE GAME TO WIN. With that logic you guys will be ready to put in the goat convo with 2 finals appearances & 2 chips.
4 years definitely not. At most two and I would really say only this year.
Steph and KD were the best players in the last 3 . I still think KD is better but he had a horrible series so I will give it to Giannis this year.
This is the first year Giannis looked like the best player. Not the best regular season player but the actual best player.
@@_Shaquille_ KD is above him with 2 and 2, and we all know what he had to do to get those 2. Rings/appearances should never the biggest factor in determining how good a player is or was individually, those are team accomplishments. When it comes to individual player rankings, how well you play matters far more than how many wins your team got. Otherwise, guys like Robert Horry, Satch Sanders>Malone, Barkley, etc.
stop the cap he shouldnt even be over leonard, he has 1 mickey mouse ring and plays in irrelevant basketball (nba since 2015)
@@Christopher._M Steph and KD weren't even 2nd. 😂😂😂 I think you're putting wayy too much value on having a jumpshot. Do you even pay attention to defense, rebounding, passing? Or do you just decide who's game looks nice?
why was Luka so high based on projection (which i agree with) but Giannis didn't get that same treatment. He is still pre-prime, he is still yet to have his biggest moments, he's super young....Why would you not project him appropriately as you did Luka?
More Jenna call ins!
The Big Ticket also has an MVP and DPOY
Agreed giannis doesn't need a 3pt shot but a midrange and if he can be a 70-75% ft shooter he'll be unstoppable
Fun fact: Giannis has a higher career FT% than Hakeem Olajuwon
i swear he was at 50k subs before this episode dropped 😭
I’m waiting till this drops 😭
Joe Dumars is an honorable mention in regards to Isaiah Thomas… They sleep on him too.
Has Nick finished the list or not? If not, by the end of this week if Steph wins 4th title and FMVP, he has to be top 10
He's definitely top ten of the last 50 years, just not overall.
Every team that beat durant in the playoffs win the chip. Thats a a fact!
Stop giving away the players on your thumbnail. Lol I still watch it but I like the suspense.
Only knock on your list is Luka you said its about ehat you have done when ranking and then you have Luka 20.. its hurts credibility.. also Kahwi shoukd be higher
The list has been great except for CP3 and Luka
Nick you're my favorite sports analyst and comedian you remind me of me but you got Isaiah too high he's at least top 10 considering your arguing you just laid out much love
The only issue I have is CP3 being too high.
As a note, Luka is his son, so I give it a pass.
No way u put Durant over Giannis. His 2nd best player was a g league guy that made something of himself. Durant had kyrie and harden. Steph and Klay. Westbrook and harden. That’s his career.
Well use this same logic with Curry then….. so is Giannis higher than Curry?
@@jamesonedwardsii4943 well, Steph just made the finals with a less than ideal team, playing the same defense KD played, the difference? KD averaged 26 ppg on 38% fg and that was padded by a 39pt game 4,... without which he was averaging on 22 ppg on 36.5% through games 1-3... Against the same defense, Steph is averaging 34ppg on basically 50, 50, 86...
Trust me, Steph's impact is greater than KD and thst's evident anytime they step on court....
@@jamesonedwardsii4943 absolutely.
@@ayyocool why? You just said Giannis should be higher than KD but not Steph? Doesn’t make sense because Curry has also played with HOFrs his entire career…..so the same argument you’re trying to tear KD down with doesn’t apply to Steph hmmmmmm i interesting
I will make one point if he becomes a scorer only in elimination games they are not game planning for him which may make it easier to score.. Just a point..
Wasn't Jokic 40-something? Anyway, having Luka at 20 was an absolute joke. How is he ahead of Kawhi, for instance, or Rick Barry?
It's crazy how steph and especially durant were so close to lebron for so many years and they're this far apart on the list. Just goes to show how close it gets between the all time greats resumes
I’m the biggest Curry fan but they were never close to Bron
@@jeanserrano2336 Durant was 2nd in MVP voting to Lebron for three different years. If you look at it that way. Durant has possibly 4 or more MVPs if Lebron doesn’t exist.
Giannis really high for one title. True he will be up there by the time he retires but this is kind of hype.
Find me 15 players with a better resume than him, and he was only 26 winning his first ring. Younger than all the GOATs.
You ruined your well thought out list when you had Luka at 20. Love him, but thats way too high. And yet you don't have Jokic in your top 50. A guy with 2 MVPs.
He did say that playoff success matters alot in this list, so I get having jokic left off since he's had basically 0.
Luka should've been at 50 if he was going to put him on, but I can live with it since every other player seems fair and has good reasons for it.

KD over Giannis? KD doesn't have a ring or a finals MVP. They were awarded to him, but they don't mean anything. Giannis has real hardware, that took GREATNESS to win. KD and Giannis arent in the same conversation. Different cut, different cloth.
I mean Giannis is 27 , its only a matter of time till he surpasses KD but currently its fair to say KD's career has been better
When you list off KDs resume you’re literally saying he’s a minnimum top 10 player.
there’s more than just words on paper.
kevin in top 10. argument for top 5
how is isiah thomas 14th and Joe Dumar not even make your top50. have you looked at his resume?
@@dominickwilliams3757 I think KD is overrated
The closer to the top the list gets the more ridiculously it’s discussed. That isn’t to take anything away from these all time talents, but he acts like because they didn’t play with top 50 players the teams were scrubs without them.
Zeke played with 2 other hall of famers and some amazing role players. KD and Giannis are in similar situations. Giannis NEEDED role players to help him get over the hump to win a championship, KD needed one of the best teams in history to help him win championships. The idea these players just achieve these things alone the way he implies is just absurd.
Role players for Giannis ain't the same as kds loaded super teams.. they ain't the same
@@IknowMoreThanYou I didn’t say they were the same, I also didn’t say KD had role players.
“Where he is right now, number 14.”
Two shows prior, Luka is number 20.

@@tyjohnson3111 Regardless, they were all multi-time All-Stars/All-NBA.
Not to mention Rodman was at his best during his Pistons years and won 2 DPOYs. And Detroit only beat LA with Magic missing significant time with an injury
@@jackierichardson8040 Yeah, fans don't realize that Pistons team struck at the perfect time. The Celtics and Lakers were getting old and had dealt with chronic injury issues and the Bulls were still waiting for Pippen and Grant to develop. The Pistons never defeated the best iterations of any of those teams during the Thomas era, which were the 1986 Celtics, the 1987 Lakers and the 1991 Bulls. They defeated the 1988 Celtics on their last legs, the 1988-1990 Bulls before Pippen and Grant were even flashing All-Star potential, and the 1989 Lakers featuring an old Kareem and an injured Magic Johnson.
