While chemistry can't fix a bad show, it does add to a decent show. Fort and Peat's natural chemistry was one of the main things that got me through Love Sea. It wasn't horrible be any means, but I am picky and I get annoyed easily so watching those two interact gave me something to look forward to. I'm fairly new to the BL space so the closeness that Fort and Peat have kind of caught me off guard at first but I do appreciate the extra bit of fun that it adds to the watching experience. Also I had no idea about the writer of PitBabe wanting to retcon the omegaverse part of the show. Honestly, I don't think they used the trope to the fullest in the show in the first place but the backsliding and moral grandstanding after profiting off of it is weird.
@@veenorelation4008 good chemistry can really elevate a show. I never would’ve finished Battle of the Writers otherwise 😅 TutorYim truly saved it for me. I liked Love Sea, but I can recognize it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! Yes the fanservice, skinship really threw me off when I came over from kpop 😹 and Taiwan goes even harder than Thailand! Their actors are full out kissing on stage in front of fan events. I always felt like the omegaverse in Pit Babe was a cash grab because of how badly done it was, but this just confirms it. As someone who loves that AU/trope, it’s very disappointing.
@@drama.landia I also came from the kpop fandom (that's how I came up with my username lol) and the difference between kpop skinship/fanservice is miles away from what they do in BL 🤭. Since I'm an ovethinker I always wonder whether they feel pressured or uncomfortable to do those things but it's not my place to speculate. Also, based on what Perth said it's not a big deal to them. I have also noticed that not all actors have that level of skinship (like Jes and Bible) witch shows that they aren't forced to be lovey dovey off screen. Earlier today I watched a breakdown/recap of the PitBabe author's comments on the omegaverse and the way they explained it made it sound like either someone told them that it was problematic after the fact or they received pressure about it for "moral" reasons. As an enjoyer of the trope I am fully aware of the criticisms that it gets but there is still something that rubs me the wrong way about their change of heart. Honestly I think you're totally right that, with some tweaking, the show could have worked as an X-men type action show without the omegaverse. By the way this other TH-camr I watch called Strange Eaons recently did a two part deep dive on the history and impact of omegaverse and tangential BL/MLM stories. I think it's worth a watch if you haven't already.
You singing over pitbabe had me rolling! I mean just peak comedy! 😂😂😂
I’m happy you enjoyed it 😹 I could’ve just added a song but why do that when I can serenade my audience?
@ serenade and add commentary at the same time! Your fans thank you! 😂
@ my choir & creative writing background coming in handy 🤝
