Back fire when accelerating happens all the time even IRL it's not a bug. Every modified car has a chance of misfiring and when it comes to this game, let us not forget that the cars that you are using are modified by "street racers" not professional mechanic. So it's actually a cool detail that the car often misfire even when accelerating because it is not modified by actual professional
Well used resources. It was touched up a little bit to fit the modern times. Most of the cars are reused from Shutokou Battle Xtreme, a 2017 mobile game.
saying the game is optimized is a MASSIVE understatement. i have a gt 710, a gpu so LOW on VRAM but it still manages to run at least on 45-60 fps on the lowest settings and the experience still does not TAPER for me (though there is a permanent yellow to blue FADE on the car models in my perspective) low taper fade aside, the game runs really well on an old gpu which is i believe to be a rarity in modern games
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune - Only race around Wangan line, Race until reach the finish point, allow interuption, has multiplayer battle, simplier tuning system (speed or handling), liveries can only get from winning races, the opponents are the characters from the manga. Tokyo Xtreme Racer - You can free roaming around the Metropolitian Highway system, You call for challenge, everyone on the road are your opponents (including taxi cab and truck), only one-on-one fight (one-on-two in story), exceed the enemy until his SP runs out, tires can wear off, no multiplayer (yet), more complicated tuning system, spent money to buy liveries, the opponents are the rivals from the game series.
There's a Steam guide for Wanderers, it tells you everything you need to know to beat all of them. Melancholic Angel was pretty easy for a boss, I got her on my sixth try. Race in an area with some turns.
Steam guide for wanderers is cool, but im glad that the game alone tells you what to do. They have to iron out small things and i am happy with it. Melancholic angel and Cinderella Past Midnight actually had swapped stats before the release (pre release testers can confirm) and i still think that tier 3 parts shoudve been unlocked a chapter or two earlier. Now ofc its genki AI, the cars WILL make massive mistakes.
Tip for people who have a phone that is able to translate text through your camera (it works) it doesn't translate everything on the license plate screen but it does 90-95 percent of it. Also when you are on the root menu aka garage screen if you have a keyboard connected to your pc press the tab button to bring up the save and exit menu.
So far, I personally don't have any issue with the bumper camera. It gave me the nostalgia playing Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune on the arcade. But still, I wish Genki would add a slider for it in the future. And before people call me a poser, fake fan, and horizon worshipper for wanting multiplayer on TXR. I think it not really a bad idea if Genki would add multiplayer... in the way that it doesn't make it a fomo based online only live service. Heck, it would be even better if you can host your own server to play with your friends!
Oh multiplayer would be great, dont get me wrong, but i think them playing safe is a good thing, cause they pulled a risky move financially by making a new game. I hope this game does well to the point where we do get a sequel, they can go nuts
Granted the game will be a solid 10 if they got Honda's approval and most of the returning rivals either come back in their respective rides, few ride back on a Honda's driver seat and the crown jewel of the series - ??? in his Devil Z
15:37 for someone whos playing on any Handhled PC like Steam Deck, i dont think its an issue. Simply just drag, click, etc. But yeah, i agree with the statement on the root menu screen, etc. Other then that, its perfect. And we're so peak back.
I don’t know, man with all the customization and all the tuning and stuff this game has like it might not be seen, but I don’t think you can call it arcade with the insane options this has.
When i call the game arcade, its mostly based on handling and other aspects like damage. Race driver Grid is a perfect example of a simcade, where the game is built to be a sim racer but with simpler handling to bring in the arcade players.
@ the way the game was with default settings was so bad I thought all the TH-camrs talking up the game must have all been paid and it’s a big scam, that’s how unplayable it was and I refunded it. Only later did I see a video with someone explaining all the settings to adjust to change handling and the fps issue. This is not a technically very good game, but it’s early access so I’m giving it another chance since the game part and the vibes are great.
I really hate how they plastered anime all over this new title. Txr was never about "anime" or it's aesthetic. Also no oil/water temp mechanic. The game is just piss easy.

Its an unreal engine 5 game aswell. You know Genki is built different where they optimised a game on that engine

Fully aware of the TAB menu. I still think they could've placed someof the tab menu options into the root menu though.

It's as arcade as 2000s NFS games could be, so I'd call it that.

The game is good but "BEST" is a huge stretch. The same "I have a higher top speed" race over and over and over and over again gets old fast.
I mean thats just how most other racing games are. Plus i do actually consider this to be the best arcade racer in like last 5 to 10 years.

Gamespeed being tied to fps is inexcusable.
I really hope they fix that. I didnt have any dips below 80 fps with my settings, but i can see people having issues on lower end hardware.
