@@messsarbath I replicated it today, give me a day or two to put the video together. Hopefully you don’t hate me after doing this as it can be a pain in the @$$ to get things lined up.

I had the 'objects must be aligned' error when I tried to build angled boardwalks, that was several weeks ago, I think it was around the time when the angled builds were being showcased. I don't know what I did wrong but I couldn't get to build at an angle, as the game was bugging out with placed floor pieces not locking to the ground or other objects and just dropping.
Yeah, it can be a little glitchy, that’s why I’m hoping Epic is working on a directional dynamic within the game so it is easy for everyone to build in different directions.
after the last update epic made it so most of the techniques that would auto destroy what you build on an angle when building would not get destroyed no more
I'm 50 seconds in, paused, and I already know you've discovered the "Objects must be aligned" error! I noticed this when trying to get angled builds juuust right about a month ago but have (almost) no audience to reach. I've noticed it in the XY / NSEW directions but not Z / UD; I've also noticed it when a piece is on top of another but rotated around the z-axis, e.g. the studs needs to be 'aligned'. If anything it's been a hinderance, where the piece is otherwise perfect but cannot be placed because it is in contact with another piece. So it becomes an effort in getting it "close" but not actually toeing the line.
Yeah, I know what you mean about hindrance, I found that as well when I was showing some one how to build the beach bungalows and it wouldn’t let me set a piece above another without leaving a gap now.
The Light House build does have some curved and angled pieces but it would be nice to do customized pieces of your own, without odd glitch errors. For now, I am using the techniques you and other LEGO Fortnite creators are using to make angled builds for roads and monorails.
I was placing a shed for the animals and I was moving it around no dynamic foundation just wanted a shed didn't care what direction then when I moved it over a random piece of granite the direction changed on its own. I tried it with planks etc just messing around and it happened again and again. In my second village this did not work. It would say something is in the way blah blah blah. But the first village I'm changing direction just by moving up against granite or other structures...I do think they are working on directional changes just like the changes with balloon channels hence the glitching.
@@GrindGeek TH-cam seems to be deleting comments. Giving it one more go! In the cozy mode which my niece plays at Brite bombers village there's more possibilities of changing the direction of your builds.
Thank you for this. I recently was trying to place a chair at an angle and got this error. Hopefully, I can use the 90 degree trick to place furniture more creatively. Thanks!
Glad it helped, I have had issues placing furniture on sloped pieces, there may be some logic that restricts some objects to their designed axis alignment.
Yo dude, love your content! I have a major problem with mine and my friends world. About 3 weeks ago we were playing on it, then it kicked us out and said “matchmaking error #1) and we tried to change our region and hop back in, but we didn’t get far, only as far as the loading screen. Then it said “world currently unavailable” and has said this since every time we try logging back in. People have told me to restart the Wi-Fi, but I don’t see why that can help, my friend lives 100 miles away and has the same problem. So I doubt it’s Wi-Fi. Do you have any way we can fix it? P.s we have messaged epic and they have been useless honestly.
I've had the same problem, but then the owner of the world left, and the world became playable again. It seems like you have a bigger problem. Hope epic can help you
That really sucks, there have been a few times I get a match making error but I can always get in after a few tries. Sorry I don’t have a solution but try the ‘Official LEGO Fortnite’ Discord, they have a channel for reporting bugs. Maybe also post it on the ‘LEGO Craftopia’ discord, there are 500+ players on there, one of them may have seen this before. Good luck. 🤞
I got that message shortly after your second video on directional builds. Unfortunately, it's not new. I do hope you're right though, about them easing directional builds.
The only other reasons, other than including directional building at some point, i can think of is: 1) they forgot to add it sooner (or at all) but intended to and finally did (and it's just for better clarity) 2) Lego company wants the pieces to align Lego style and that way only, and epic was forced to crack down on it (which would just be terrible business logic, as it'll push away many players from playing) The last update is when this began, and it has been frustrating as placing pieces that are *only* rotated about the vertical axis atop another has been made forbidden by this, so for example one can no longer place a bed on a floor on a 45 degree diagonal angle. It's put a complete stop on my one (formerly top secret) project, which is a massive star Trek ship themed build that is dependent on non 90 degree angles on basically all axis.
I'm going on vacation camping for the next week, I HOPE they fix this before I get back, but I think the 23rd is the next update and it's focus on klombo erodes my hope for them fixing these important issues. Not erode completely, it'd just be nice to hear epic announce things in our terminology about our issues, such as "we're improving directional building in this next update!" But instead they do not say this, or things like this, and seem completely off topic with things like "we reduced the mats for grand chests" and "torches are now needed for campfires"
Agreed, it would be terrible business logic to stop directional building. I do t know much about video game programming but I’m sure there are a lot of challenges to add something this large without adding too many glitches or making it too complex.
Hi, could you explain or give some examples as a tutorial regarding the error "object must be aligned" I've been trying for a while and it always gives me an error, it doesn't let me place the elements that are connected to each other. Thank you very much for your examples
Hey, sorry, it looks like Epic has stopped allowing the misaligned pieces to stick together unfortunately. They also made it so misaligned parts cannot be to close to each other anymore, there needs to be about a ½ a stud space between different directional bricks.
its hard not to take these new eroor messages personally rite.. i noticed this error and its effects straight away...ive also found a way to link drive wheels thru .. once again.. the magic fence pieces.. try it out.. make a helicoipter
@@GrindGeek the orignal plank one.. turns out its a glitch and doesnt persist on relog. had some fun with a wheel that spun everytime i drove a certain car for a bit

Everything is basic parts but a lot of the star wars stuff so some of it may be on the paid pass track. The only flipping of pieces I did was for the legs, I turned the triangle shaped stone stair railings from the Shogun kit upside down.
@GrindGeek thank you. I might need it. I gotta go back and figure out which of my worlds I actually saw it in. I found it in one of them, but I can't remember which one. Just hope wasn't one I deleted. Also, the only other thing I remember i found it originally in the snowy area. But I thought I left my person there with it, I hope. So hoping the best of luck that I can easily find this. I'm hoping at least.
@GrindGeek when I found it originally, I wanted to make it into a living space, but then I also didn't wanna wreck the original, so I didn't do anything to it at the time But I forgot about it until I saw yours. I even looked up to see if anyone else built one, and no one really seemed to be interested at first. I think I only found one other video. But that was for creative. I was bummed. i thought it was for Lego at first, haha.
