I'm going back and liking every one of your videos. There is no way you should be at on 51k. You do outstanding work, not only do you stand behind your work, you also stand on it 😂. Keep up the great work team #HereComesTheMud.
Bondso, you definetly lead by example, you don't just push team members towards excellence-rather, you actively demonstrate that excellence. Exceptional explanation and demonstration on the reason's why. Cheers 🍻
A little trick if you will be using a mixer often. Stone in 1st, then sand, then 75% of your water. Add the cement to that once its (sand\stone\water) mixed well and use a plastic garbage can lid (assuming you don't have a proper lid) over the mixer to keep the silica out of your lungs. I've done one or two thousand trial mixes for concrete plants over my 40 years in the business.. 😆
Ive had good luck adding water the amount it takes to wash down the drum from the previous load works well then stone then add Portland and finally sand and more water.
I really like your videos. I watch everything you do. Full feature-length videos are great, better than a Netflix series…😁 your detail, sharing information, planning and thought process. I love it. I know it must be much easier to just get on with the work, rather than trying to work with the camera and tripod setups, but I for one really appreciate the effort you put in. Same goes for your team. Upstate New York looks stunning too! Thanks. Roland, UK.
I agree 100%, I much rather watch a full feature build over the woke tv crap being created today! Been doing this stuff for years and it never fails that you learn new tricks.
I worked for a concrete guy for about a year when the factory I worked at shut down, and I can say I dont have anything but admiration for you and your guys, I dont have the eye for working concrete when it's wet, but love watching someone talented do so, mad props to all
Retried contractor myself and honestly these are the most enjoyable vids on the "tube." Your work should be a standard for everyone doing this type of work, sadly it's not. As long as you put any video out there my eyes and ears will find it, thank you for taking the time to do the camera work for it takes time and effort as well to bring it to us.
You guys do great work I enjoy watching these videos… been following you over the last few months as I am going to be building a new home in the spring and using a slab just like this so all very interesting… I live in Nova Scotia Canada and we have winters similar to you all
The first time I watched a Slab pour that wasn't on HGTV you gave me some ideals about what to do and watch for on my first home-build slab burning thanks for the term
Slab turned out great,,so nice " great job to all, that's what I want when I build my garage! I always enjoy your work and appreciate your explanation of how you do things. See ya on the next one!
Always love watching you guys work your trade and have great Respect to your trade when I was yung years did a good it of mud work have some funny stories because of the fla heat and rainy weather 😂 Thanks for sharing 👍
Great masterful job. Here in the Philippines they use 1/2 block so it's good to see a full block. Also great prep by escavation company. Yes, Roe had a good shady spot to supervise from.
Funny when I mix concrete, I shovel it and I count 3 scoops gravel 3 scoops sand and scoop and 1/2 to 2 portland and if I use some bags once and awhile I buy a bag of portland and add it, seems real good then for bag crap. I make this little song in my head when shoveling the mix in. LOL Job looks very good guys. Thicken edge always seems hard to me, I grade it out flat then dig it, "shovel wide shovel deep" coal shovel.
I know some good flat workers and they wouldn't know the first step to laying block. Multi-talented tradesmen here folks. Press the like button and give them their due! Please.
Worked maybe 50 yrs on and off in Residential Construction and rarely if ever came across as conscientious sub as you appear to be. I wonder if that's always, for you, been the case. If only your craftsmanship was the norm, life would have been so much better for all concerned !!!
Hay Bondo job well done. I am not a block mason and have never layed block in my life. Until about 6 months ago and have now layed a couple thousand on a shop I am building. I have been mixing mud in a concrete mixer and was wondering if I was doing it wrong. It seems like good mud to me but I may be wrong. Thanks for your input.
won't the eaves and gutters extend past 12 foot if you are 12 foot 2 inches? i guess it depends on what part of the structure has to be 12 foot away, i also have been wondering if bigger rocks like 3" or even 5-6" were placed on the first level would that help to improve drainage? and when do you use plastic underneath and when don't you? and when can you use the wire and when do you use the rebar, I guess this depends on the plans and intended weight of use...
Hi Bondo, Quality work as usual by you and your team. That's a pretty handy mortar tub. Could you share who makes it and where it can be purchased? Thanks
I still feel jipped. . . Me and one of my business partners used to do 40 yards. . . Just the two of us .. man if I had a 5 man crew those jobs would have been so much cleaner and less stressful
nice what is the price of concrete there? it went up here again the cheapest around here for 400 with fiber is 174 a yard. plus 60 dollars a truck fee.
I’m having a hell of a time finding parging mix (acrylic based) in my area. Is there just not an acrylic mix at Home Depot that I’m overlooking? I’m in the KC area. Thank you again for all your help and videos
BOndo will you be able too come down to the suburbs of Philadelphia to add a little two car garage with a large second floor great room aboveground. I live 10 minutes outside philly where the old garden state racetrack was 30 years ago my grandfather bought the property in the 1947 1/2 a re for 200$ and built the cinderblocks home 2 stories. All cinder blocks and he filled then with BEER BOTTLES not cement. You know how that goes !!!! Keep up your great work....... 😂
You have a great crew. You seem to be a guy that is great to work for. I watch all your videos and also watch victory, his crew is far from your crews league.
You are on point with putting wood posts in the ground. Even if the building does not fail in the time frame that you own it eventually it will fail. A kin to creating throw away structure. Very wasteful
Great video and work as always, Bondo. The slab and block work looks top notch, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from the man who hates adding water to his concrete because he knows it weakens it. 👍 ??? I was just wondering, how many blocks can be laid to 80 pounds mortar mix @ half inch joints? Thanks again Bondo, y’all take care. Glad Biscuit is doing better.
Come on you guys. Not you Bondo. You viewers......I'm looking at 1677 views 4 hours into the video and we got 33 comments and 337 thumbs up. It takes NOTHING for you to stamp the thumbs up button. Takes minimally logged into youtube to post a comment. He's a dog lover and a damn good concrete guy. You watch the videos from your couch and all it takes is pressing a button. Give this honest tradesman his due! Please. I watch so many channels on youtube it's no wonder why I never accomplish anything but these guys do. Come on and do em a solid!
For the driven rebar into the ground, could you use fiberglass rebar to lessen the chances of rusting? Even if you don't like fiberglass, it could be useful for non-structural applications like simply holding up the main rebar runs. I love the content and spirit!

The first time I watched a Slab pour that wasn't on HGTV you gave me some ideals about what to do and watch for on my first home-build slab burning thanks for the term
I had a flat worker help me with my driveway pour. My wife still got jealous when she showed up in short shorts.

Bondo you inspired me to get the tools and the mixer out of retirement this weekend
Awesome let me know how it went.
Nice block laying! It seems that it wouldn't cost that much more to fill all the block cavities and make the wall rock solid.
Awesome vid and lots of good tips. Mad props for your block wall talent. I tried it myself and was sadly humbled.
Not as easy as it looks. lol 😂

You make this look easy only I know that it takes hard work and years of knowledge to produce a quality job.
Would you guys come to TN to do a shop floor and walls? It would make for a little vacation-work-hog hunting with dogs kinda trip.
Looks good. I think your job is pretty close to my neck of the woods. If I would have only known, I would have volunteered to help!
That would be cool.
🎉🎉 definitely love the videos especially the longer ones like this start to end🎉🎉🎉 thank you..JJ...🎉🎉

Nice - I’m learning by watching Bondo Built! Plan to do my own slab 24x40 for garage this year.
That’s awesome to hear that.

You’re probably fine. The mortar was just sticking to the fins real bad with my mixer. That’s great you are laying your own blocks.
Another perfect job and awesome video!
Really clean looking work!
Appreciate your comments along the way (tips and more tips!). Thanks
Looks good...
Sounds like a drain is needed to keep the water going underneath the slab and cause issue with heaving in the winter
Yes and I mentioned that he was going to install a drain in the back at the end of the video.
Great work, have a great week
Sweet job!
Always enjoy watching your videos. Someday I'll run into ya up at camp.

So you guys don't need to dig down 4' to get the footings of the foundation below the frost line in upstate NY? It's ok to put a slab right on grade?
This is a frost protected slab. Foam will be around the edge to stop the frost.
Great Video!!! As Always!!!!!!
great work as always bondo
Nicely done
Nicely Done Y'all
Hi Bondo, Quality work as usual by you and your team. That's a pretty handy mortar tub. Could you share who makes it and where it can be purchased? Thanks
I got it at a store called runnings. In was in the animal section.
Grate job !

Take Care n Be Safe 🤙🔥🇺🇸
1:01:00 I'm surprised that you don't use "The MudMixer" for mixing mortar. It seems super fast to use in comparison to a barrel style mixer.
Yeah I’m going to try it out. Going to lay a small 10 by 10 pad for a shed and then 20 by 20 pad for the patio. Should be real interesting too watch
Awesome getter done bud.
Awesome video, what gauge of the wire mesh that you use? Thank you
Great job !!!!
Thanks!! 😊
Another great job
Awesome job

Pro job. Stem wall for a barn beats sticks in the ground any century it is built.
When you saw cut the slabs, how deep do you go in?

One mistake Mr Bondo those small rebar to lift up that ring on the outside shouldn't be driven into the soil it asselarates the rusting

add a shovel or 2 of Portland with every bag of Quickcrete
