Happy Sunday everyone, thank you so much for watching today's video! I hope you have a peaceful and restful day! Love you all so much and thanks for being here! JJ
Oh my goodness I’m so glad about your contract I have never understood that you don’t get paid for boarding. I was flying last weekend and watching all the FA help everyone and knowing that you don’t get paid is just astounding!! I’m so glad for the changes! FA deserve it for sure!
When I get a frontal lobe headache I get one of my ice rollers (for the face) out of the freezer, pop it on the handle and roll it back and forth over my forehead and eyes. It feels great, relieves stress and makes the headache or migraine go away.
Long time migraine sufferer here. Magnesium and hot pack on feet cold pack on head and a prescription triptan helped me. I had low iron-so get that checked. Now I do yellow glasses, advil, rizatriptan, butter toast and a cold gel pack. Congrats on the new contract.
LAX based F/A here. I'm glad it passed too. You said it perfectly. Sure it could be even better but we needed this pay raise and the rest of it. Been watching you for a long time. If I ever see you around I'll stop and say hi.
I am a retired chiropractor, having practiced for 30+ years. There can be a correlation with upper cervical spine issues and headaches. I’d recommend getting an evaluation and see if you have such issues that might be causing your headaches. Good luck
Fellow FA here (other airline, though). Congrats on the new contract! Love that you play such an active role in staying informed, that’s not the case for all! You guys deserve this and more! If you end up getting a new lunchbox, I just got the Titan Insulated CarryALL from Costco in solid black. It’s compliant for my airline and only $20 at my local Costco. So spacious and my new fav lunchbox I’ve owned. I’m switching from the larger Travelpro lunch tote.
When I have really bad headaches like that, peppermint oil helps me. Also, having ear plugs and sunglasses (if I’m light/sound sensitive). Lots of water, pain meds, and rest.
Congratulations on the contract. I retired after almost 45 years a few years ago from American and so I worked under that old contract and sad we didn’t get retro pay for the retirees but still very very happy that you’re getting a good decent contract ,and boarding pay (any amount )..that is just amazing. We fought for that for decades and never got it.I’m very happy for you
I have suffered from debilitating migraines for years. A few tips. Stay hydrated. When you first feel one coming on sometimes chugging an energy drink can help as it helps open the blood vessels that are constricted. One of my biggest natural things I have is a lavender neck pillow that can be heated in microwave and using it in my forehead/eye area helps tons. I travel with one. Excedrin migraine is good because it has caffeine in it. If all else fails there are good and safe prescriptions that can help stop the migraine, but trying everything else first is a good step.
Congrats on your new contract. Having worked for a particularly tough international airline as a flight attendant/purser, I can appreciate your experience. Bravo to your positive attitude.
I used to suffer from migraines and what I found that helped is have something cooling on my forehead. There are cooling strips and also a some kind of a gel in stick form I found very good. I used to get pain in my eyes and had to lie down in a dark room, I would put a mask on to cover my eyes to make it as dark as possible. If you take any pain medicine, make sure you take them as soon as possible when you feel the migraine coming on. If you wait until the pain is bad, often they won’t work. I hope this can help you if you have any further migraines. Thankfully mine has just disappeared over the years. They can be extremely painful, so I hope it’s not something you will get frequently. All the best.
Hi Julia, sorry about the headaches! The good news is that one episode of migraine could just be a one-off, and it might not happen again. If it does, you will need to work out what the triggers might be, possibly with a doctor. It varies, it could be hormones, it could be your eyesight , it could be your diet, it could be reading books / screens with the letters too small. I have family members who have migraines caused by lack of sleep and dehydration. Eating regularly and well is also important. If it does turn into something more regular, there are specific types of migraine medication: and the key is to take them as soon as you notice the first signs. It is easier to prevent a migraine than to get rid of it once it is fully on. (It is true for other types of pain, too. ) So you would need to have them with you, eg in your handbag , and take them. I'm happy about the new contract!
I am a migraine sufferer too. My neurologist put me on Topirimate for about 18 months and it worked perfectly. I also had a prescription for Imitrex injectable should I have a breakthrough during the treatment period. I only had 1 or 2 after starting the Topirimate, and never had another migraine again for 20 years. It’s definitely worth checking out.
@@JettingJulia - Agree, congratulations on the new contract, especially the addition of "boarding time." But that does bring up a few quick questions for you: 1) Does "boarding time" also include "deplaning time?" 2) Does the new contract now include pay for "sit time" between flights? 3) Curiosity question: On a scale of 1 - 1,000, if 1 is a newbie and 1,000 is a super senior FA, roughly where do you fall on that scale in PHL? Hi Julia! I got a concussion a few years back and now would have migraines every day if I didn’t have medicine. I still get really bad ones sometimes though. I recommend having tylenol and naproxen as soon as you feel one, and also try and have some protein! Usually this works out for me, so I hope it helps 🫶🏻
Congrats on the new contract! That's great! I also often have headaches. The longest I had was 17 days in a row. My advice for headaches: be quick to take a painkiller! Once the pain is there, it takes a long time for it to get better again.
Your new makeup looks really good. You got a dewy look without it being too heavy looking. I am always impressed with how you look when you get ready for work. I LOVE the pink scarf for October, it is a nice touch and shows that your company cares. Your videos always put me in a good mood. Love seeing Luna too!
Great vlog as always, Julia. It was so great that you got to see your sister perform. I don't know if you noticed, but after you and your sister had lunch, when you were showing different areas in Austin, I saw a mural on the outside of a building, and i think that it was a mural with a golden retriever, and then a black lab. Then, of course, i thought of Luna and Max. I thought it was great that they had that
so excited for your new contract and hoping that it paves the way for those of us who are still in negotiations! I would definitely look into seeing a neurologist if you continue to get migraines. they run in my family and I have a prescription, but I do sometimes use peppermint oil to help with them too. taking magnesium daily is supposed to help with the severity/frequency as well. 💕
Julia, the change in your contract is great, especially the pay for boarding, I always remember you saying a long while ago about not getting paid for boarding. I can only imagine what a long process that is. I’m so pleased for you in that respect xx That fire alarm was loooud 😮😳 xx
I only started getting migraines in my 30's but the best remedy that has worked for me is making sure you not only are hydrated but plenty of electrolyte's and avoiding bright and flashing lights. Also avoid excess caffeine if are dehydrated and or not sleeping well. Hope they get better!
Thats Great news about your contract 🙌. That was lovely you got to see your sister dance 😊 Sorry to hear about the migraine 😢 my mum sufferd a lot from them she be laying in their bedroom curtains shut No lights completely darken . Hope you find something to help you / relieve the pain 🙏🙏. Take care 🥰
Good news on the new contract. Never let the union give anything away, then tell you they will get it back later. Mine did that and then they claimed they never said they would try to get it back. A lot of us called them out on it, we almost were thrown out of the meeting. Migraine headaches are the worst. I have what is called, "Cluster Migraine". I will be on medications forever.
Hey Julia, chronic migraine sufferer here. Heat pack, ice pack, caffeine Coca Cola, magnesium, small regular meals, good sleep… but if yours become more regular- neurologist time ❤
I've been on straight reserve for over two years at a REGIONAL airline, with no end in sight, so that's not too bad for a mainline. I hate reserve so much. Congrats on your new contract!
very happy for you about your new work contract even though it could have been better ! But like you said, one step at a time. Regarding your headaches and or migraines, i use peppermint essential oil, one drop on each of the temple and massage it. It works wonders for me. Good luck and keep well
I fly a lot I know what all of you go through with passengers I always try to make them laugh I've had coffee with pilots and flight attendants your all good people
If you prefer a pump on your foundation Estee Lauder makes an inexpensive pump that goes on the foundation bottle....I love using it because it keeps me from using too much or spilling it because I'm clumsy 😅
Thank you for sharing the great news concerning your contract!❤ I'm happy for you and your fellow FA's🎉 Have a wonderful week and 'Hello' to Eric and Miss Luna👋
I have had migraines for years!! They would attack me behind my right eye until I thought I thought I would scream. I have been on meds for years. I wish you well. We miss you here in the DFW area!
Take minerals!! we all need way more minerals than we think - especially magnesium. 9 ever heard of anyone overdosing on minerals.. nope!!). Do the liquid that you pour onto your savory foods like in dressings or anything that is savory, or put some directly on your tongue. my girls put it in their water but I feel as if I am drinking pool water. I used to have constant migraines. No more now! also add greens and reduce or remove gluten and milk products if you can.
I would recommend that when you go to Chicago you might want to visit the Diamond Headache Clinic. They're a great source for migraine sufferers that you might want to consider.
Congratulations on the new contract. Glad to hear it has positives for you. I don't know if it the makeup, but you look exceptionally pretty in this video!
Gratz on getting pay for boarding, that's been a major issue for airlines forever!!! Re Migraine suggestions: I've been recommended a few products: One is a gel mask that covers your face, which you stick in a freezer so it's ice cold when you use it. Regarding medication, there's a prescription medicine called "Sumatriptan" which usually works for my mother and me. Don't know if you'll see these, miss Julia, but if you do, that's my advice.
Love your videos! Please could you demonstrate how to tie such a cute (& perfect) bow!??! 16:25 I'd love a quick tutorial, please & thank you! My boss's daughter says, "It is a great day to make it a great day!"
Hi Julia. I have always loved your content. I get migraines on the odd occasion. What helps for me, is when I am feeling the migraine coming on, I take several aspirin, and lie down in a dark room
Delighted for your new contract! Yay for that! Lol that fire alarm sure made me jump. NO vanilla is definitely NOT boring...and neither are you..EVER!! I hope you get the migraine situation taken care of :)
My daughter gets migraines with auras she uses cold fridge packs and lays down in a dark room. With the light sensitivity darkness is the best. Get medication in before the headache starts. Heat can also make migraines worse.
Congratulations on the contract and hope the retro is fair. Might consider fennel tea Watch your dairy, eggs and chocolate. Consider monitoring against your cycle. Often it's related to hormonal changes. Don't hesitate to get help, stay hydrated. Enjoy your week 🌻
Hi Julia - great news about flight attendant contracts. Getting half pay for boarding is better than no pay at all. Glad you got to see your sister on your layover.
With regard to migranes. Coffee or tea (caffeine) with your pain reliever of choice. (Some already have the caffeine, so check.) Cold compress on your forhead or the back of your neck. And dehydration can play a part, so yes, hydrate. Hope that helps.
Congratulations on your new contract. I wish your colleagues on United good luck on their contract on the way out. It feels awkward to say this during or before the flight, which seems to be appreciated on the way out. Flight attendants work hard and I appreciate what you do.
Thanks for mentioning about your Estée Lauder. I noticed that your makeup was really smooth. You always look beautiful though, but thought it was blended really well. I wondered what you used and then you told us! Also thanks for saying Ulta can help with color match. I was afraid of picking the wrong color! So that helps me a lot! Glad the contract had some improvements. Will you be off of reserve more and get to choose flights more? I think you said that was a seniority thing though. Anyway, have a good week! Love keeping up with you!
Hi Julia just wanted to say hello congratulations on your new contract I have always have a great interest in aviation and planes especially the inside cockpit I’m always amazed by all the gadgets that make the plane fly keep up the great work Julia you are are very beautiful woman ☺️
options for migraines so you don’t have to try medications are Botox, ear piercing called daith, caffeine can cause migraines or help, drinking water is so very important. Also, what kind of mascara do you use? Your lashes look stunning!!!
Happy day for you to have a new contract. Happy day for you that you were able to have a visit with your sister. Cute story I know someone that has a golden retriever puppy. The puppy is about 5-6 months and doesn’t retrieve anything. My husband is a chiropractor ( now retired) I know if I didn’t have regular adjustments I would get horrible migraines.
I’m so glad to hear you are pleased with the new contract and you have a great outlook toward the future with it too. While it’s not perfect like you said it is a step in the right direction and something is better than the nothing you had before. My great aunt got migraines regularly (ugh) and she would drink a warm Coke (it worked for her…) so there’s a little migraine help from Aunt Bert. 😊
Great video. Your makeup looks amazing. ❤ x One of my sons gets migraines, he's suffered them since he was run into by a car when he was 12 (it was his own fault) anyway he's 29 now and has had several mri's all of which find nothing wrong. He's lucky because the work he does he's allowed to work from home, his firm are very sympathetic. He just takes painkillers and goes into a dark room with a good sized drink of squash or water. Xx
Migraine suggestion-My sister used to be a massage therapist. She had a client who had migraines and didn’t want to take medication while pregnant twice, nursing her babies. If she could get in within a few hours, she did fine. It warded off the worst and reversed her symptoms.
For migraines, I took the supplement MigRelief for quite a while and it did help a lot but made me nauseous. The neurologist suggested it. Also, people say Liquid IV helps. If you get another definitely go to the doctor though!
Congrats on the new contract! It was a long time coming. Migraines - I suffer from chronic migraines and have to use meds, but I’d say definitely stay hydrated and try to figure out what your triggers are so you can avoid them. Poor sleep is one of the biggest ones. Between the migraine and the dreams I’d suggest not reading some of the books you do - it may be messing with your sleep and causing the dreams (what you feed your brain finds a way to come out). Hope you don’t have any more of them though!!!
From someone that had very intense migraines from age 20 to age 50 at least once a month....keep a diary of all headaches, what you did and ate that day, stress levels, hormone levels, etc. If a headache brings on nausea and/or vomiting, be ready to treat the nausea right away. Light, sound, and scent sensitivity, as well as some foods, can cause a migraine. Consulting a neurologist who specializes in migraines is a good thing to do. I sincerely hope that the awful headache was just a single incident. Take care and reduce stress!
Hi Julia, sad to hear you’re having headaches. For many years I had them as well, doctors thought migraine. Then I went to see another Specialist and he suggested DEEP BREATHING exercises. Worked for me. 1. Breath in Deep and Hold ,count to 5 ( at least),then deeply Exhale.Repeat 5-6 times.Hopefully will assist you. If this works you can repeat whenever needed. Worth a try, doesn’t cost anything. Also give up late evening coffee or tea if you are having these for an evening drink.( and NO one or Pepsi either).it’s the caffeine in the as well.
For the migraines, getting your hormone levels checked might be a good idea. What helps me when I get a migraine is drinking electrolytes, an ice pack, peppermint oil on the temples and under the nose, and Wim-Hof method breathing exercises. That will get rid of the migraine most of the time.
I’m so glad your airline has finally settled your contract. I couldn’t believe when I first heard flight attendants only get paid for actual fly time, that’s seems so 🤪 but at least half pay is better than nothing.
Something that works really well for me, but not for my brother when we have migraines is : peppermint essential oil. I rub it on the part of the head where my migraine is located. If you try, make sure you wash your hands afterwards and don't touch your eyes cause it burns ! Have a good day !
Congrats on the new contract! I hope that soon you start getting paid for everything you do that is work related. You should never be subject to doing free labor, but I can relate because I'm in the trucking industry, and there are so many things we don't get paid to do either.
Hi Julia 👋 congratulations on the new contract, most deserving for sure. Luna looks so adorable and she sure does love her Halloween 🎃 toy 😊 I've never had migraines, thank God, but I had an RN co-worker that did and she ended up doing acupuncture. She had been on several meds over time, but the size effects were hard on her stomach. She reluctantly tried acupuncture because it was recommended and she had great success with it. She would go weeks without any migraines. I hope you find something in the suggestions that works for you. Have a blessed and safe night.
I’ve battled with migraines for years. Excedrin is my go to. One pill if I catch it early and 2 if it’s bad. Usually helps in 10 minutes. Excedrin and Excedrin Migraine are the exact same. They charged more for the migraine box at one time. I did go to my dr initially years ago. There are prescription meds. I just remember that taking something right away helped the most. I have been to the ER for a migraine. Some have lasted 3 days. Luckily as I’ve gotten older they have went away. Hopefully your dr can help you! ❤😊 Also, coffee in a pinch.
Hi Julia...I hope you are doing well...I just found your channel and I really liked your video too...I suffer from migraines too...I have had them since I was in the 3rd grade...I have found that taking fish oil tablets have helped me to slow the frequency and severity of the attacks...if you must take meds, you may be prescribed a type of med known as triptans...they are a family of drugs that help treat and ease the symptoms of a migraine attack...on a side note, you might have to go through a series of tripans before you find the one that works best for you...I take Rizatriptan and that has worked best for me because that has the least side effects...I'm glad that your union reached a tentative agreement and that your union signed off on the new contract...right now, my union is under collective bargaining negotiations with my employer and we are threatening to go on strike...again, I enjoyed watching your video... 😊😊😊
First of all, Congratulations on the new contract!!! I'm glad that you got the boarding pay, which should have started 6-7 years ago. I hope that you have or got deplaning pay as well. For us It's only 15 minutes, which should be more like 20-30 minutes if you're on a large aircraft. What a coincidence that you're talking about your lunchbox. I was off for the beginning of Covid taking care of my mom. When I knew I was coming back to the line, I started panicking about how to find food or meal prep because, at the time, none of the food vendors were open in the airports, getting meals at the hotels was a challenge, so I found you and have been a fan ever since. I watched what and where I could get cookware that are aircraft oven-safe and, of course finding the right lunch tote. I have one thing that I have to disagree with you ONLY because we have different rules about reserve. I thought your reserve was quite nice, only having reserve once every 3 months. When I started, I was on straight reserve for 3 years, so basically I was stuck in my base a lot. It actually was a blessing because that was many, many years ago. I'm a senior papa. I was able to go into the city a lot because of being stuck in Ny on reserve. My disagreement is we have something where you work only 3 sets of 3 days on reserve in a month. The newbies that we hired after Covid are some of the absolutely worst, attitude, work ethic, wanting instant huge pay increases and much more. I feel that they really need an attitude adjustment with their reserve days and realize how good they have it. Hopefully, that will make them see what reality used to be like and how blessed to only have 9 in a month and depending on what base, it can be as few as 6 days on reserve a month and off reserve completely in 1 1/2 yrs. I'm sorry to disagree with you, but as mentioned, our newbies are spoiled and have a serious attitude issue. Thank you for always putting out great content and always showing us beautiful Ms. Luna. Oh, I like the BCRF pink colors. I really like the second scarf/bow the different colors makes it look really nice.
Glad they made some changes to the new contract I do agree how they should have made it full pay for boarding but it’s better than nothing and lovely pic of Luna as your background on your phone 😊
I found acupuncture and chiropractic reduce the severity and frequency of my headaches. I did Botox for awhile for them and that helped too but I didn’t want to keep on it if I could find natural alternatives.
That was a Rod Serling level dream 🛌, gave me the shivers just listening to you telling it. Glad one of the most under appreciated (look up the duties and certifications required of a flight attendant) overworked and underpaid professional classes on my flights, are starting to realize some compensatory parity in relationship to the duties and responsibilities of the job. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
When I have a migraine I usually take 2 Excedrin migraine, lay down in a quiet dark room and put an ice pack over my eyes or forehead. I try to sleep it off. I usually get so bad I end up vomiting multiple times. They are horrible.
I didn’t have a clue there were that many FA’s working for one airline. wow Congratulations on your contract and your exciting European trips from your new base.
So happy to hear they finally got the contract settled for you flight attendants! I’ll never understand why you didn’t get paid for boarding, but I guess half pay is better than nothing. Congrats girl🎉❤✈️

A lot of merit here. As a former gymnast, as we age our little known injuries reawaken. Chiropractor is my highest recommendation.

A lot of us called them out on it, we almost were thrown out of the meeting. Migraine headaches are the worst. I have what is called, "Cluster Migraine". I will be on medications forever.
Ugh. Migraines are no fun.
Hey Julia, chronic migraine sufferer here. Heat pack, ice pack, caffeine Coca Cola, magnesium, small regular meals, good sleep… but if yours become more regular- neurologist time ❤
For a coffee on your next trip😊 regards to Eric and Luna with my best wishes and warmest regards Steve Perry
how kind of you, thank you!!!!
@@JettingJulia ☺️many thanks for your kind words best wishes and warmest regards Steve ❤️the channel and happy travels
Oh my gosh thank you I need to order one!!
Congrats on the new contract and the upcoming boarding pay. It’s a good start to maybe getting full boarding pay in the future. Great new video Julia
Congratulations on the new contract. Be safe.❤❤
Thank you!!
Five years too late, but I'm thrilled for everyone at your company.
Thank you so much! 🥳
For headaches/migraines I suggest an eye massager mask and a ice cold rag across your forehead. I suffer from them. And Advil helps me
Delighted for your new contract!
CONGRATULATIONS ON UR NEW CONTRACT!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😀
@@JettingJulia of course 🥰🥰🥰
Congratulations on the contract and hope the retro is fair.
Might consider fennel tea
Watch your dairy, eggs and chocolate. Consider monitoring against your cycle. Often it's related to hormonal changes. Don't hesitate to get help, stay hydrated.
Enjoy your week 🌻
YES!!! So happy to hear you will be getting paid for the boarding process! This should be all airlines.
Xx
The pony tail(?) 12:04 was awesome.
Glad the FA's got a new contract. Five years is a long time to be in negotiations. The retro pay is big. I hope it is a significant amount.
Migraine suggestion-My sister used to be a massage therapist. She had a client who had migraines and didn’t want to take medication while pregnant twice, nursing her babies. If she could get in within a few hours, she did fine. It warded off the worst and reversed her symptoms.
Congratulations to all on your new contract. You all deserve it. Flight attendants are the best
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful layover vlogs Julia. Wishing you/Eric and the much loved Luna well.
Congrats on your impending new CBA and hopefully your headache is associated with dehydration which is easily fixable. Be well.
Thank you for the support 🙏 I am a survivor ❤
God bless you! I'm so glad you're still here. My mom is a breast cancer survivor. I am 11 month survivor of a different type of cancer.
@@bkjunkie1553 God bless you and your mom. I’m so glad that you are both here also praying for continued remission for all of us.❤
Great news on your new Contract👍🙌loving your video! I’m in the path of hurricane Milton so I’ll see you on the other side🙏Florida 🥲🥲🥲🥲
I love the Ebags Crew Cooler 2. I have had mine for 5yrs now and I still love it! Worls soo well. Highly recommend to anyone
So happy for you all on the new contract!! ❤️✈️
Mine were hormone driven from 35-50. Imitrex was new and helped but menopause cured them
Mercifully, my migraines don't drive me to throwing up anywhere near as often as they used to.
Hourglass is amazing too!!! Worth the money. Stays on all day! 💗🙌😊
Peppermint oil helps. Smelling the peppermint or putting behind your ears. Hot tea helps too.
Congrats on the new contract! I hope that soon you start getting paid for everything you do that is work related. You should never be subject to doing free labor, but I can relate because I'm in the trucking industry, and there are so many things we don't get paid to do either.
Congratulations on the new contract! Long overdue! 🎉🎉🎉
Great vlog as always! Congrats on a new contract! Good job! We need more pay for the FA! Keep up the good work. Be safe!
Good job girl on the new contract! !
congrats on the new contract.
Thank you so much!
Hi Julia 👋 congratulations on the new contract, most deserving for sure.
Luna looks so adorable and she sure does love her Halloween 🎃 toy 😊
I've never had migraines, thank God, but I had an RN co-worker that did and she ended up doing acupuncture. She had been on several meds over time, but the size effects were hard on her stomach. She reluctantly tried acupuncture because it was recommended and she had great success with it. She would go weeks without any migraines. I hope you find something in the suggestions that works for you. Have a blessed and safe night.
I’m so glad your airline was able to get you guys new contacts. Never knew you’re not paid for boesrding. Crazy. Feel better.
Brilliant vlog Julia 😊 keep up the excellent work Julia 😊
Congratulations Julia on your new flight contract! You are taking care of business, you go girl ✈👩🏼💼
Thank you!! 😊
@@JettingJulia You're welcome! 😊
wonderful content . for the migraines, having a warm footsoak helps
Congratulations on your new contract
Thank you!!
Another awesome vid! Congrats on your contract!! Stay safe and have fun
