- Can't quite believe I'm making this video.
Welcome to my G87 M2, with 460hp, and 6 speed manual and the most controversial styling according to the internet. These are my very first moments including the very first time I went full throttle in the car. I can assure you it feels extremely fast in real life, hopefully that comes across on video.

@MickDrivesCars when I was on track in a 981 Cayman GTS, we were chasing a G87 and it was pulling away from us. It's properly fast

honestly this is my dream next car in a few years, once im at an age where i can afford the insurnace. probably would go for an atuo, as ill be doing a lot of motorway miles once im working. currently drive a manual 220d, and, despite what many critics say, i can imagine that manual gearbox feels amazing. bmw manuals feel really good in my opinion and have a nice weight to them, and only feel better with a few more miles on them. massive congratulations and enjoy the car, cant wait for more content on it :)
Wouldn't an automatic make more sense if you did a lot of city driving? On the highway you spend 99% of time in the highest hear...
@@agontprevarator5214 traffic. It’s not so bad if it’s a nice clear run, but being sat in traffic can be a pain, especially with quite a heavy clutch

Beautiful, glad to see you making the car purr as she should. I recommend taking your car to the track to really get acquainted with the limits of your car.
Being able to really push it to its limits without restraint allows you to gain a faster understanding of it than being limited on public roads.
Like a gaming laptop being limited to Minecraft when its potential can run Cyberpunk 2077 on high graphics, you wont know until you really try.

You made an excellent choice! This car does everything so damn well, that after a year of daily driving it, I’m still amazed. It shines exceptionally well, as you noticed, in the twisty back roads. Enjoy :)
The leather on the carbon seats tends to wear really fast. Misha Charoudin (the guy, who's doing laps on the Nürburgring) did a video on the M3 station wagon and it was already noticeable after several thousand miles. What a nice choice. I've never thought you'd really buy a BMW. Perfekt car to show certain aspects of driving! ❤❤
Me neither! But I was 100% set on a manual and there isn't much choice in the car world at the moment.
Supra manual was a close 2nd, but that's a BMW too!

those carbon buckets are ridiculously overrated and overpriced. they look cool from the back but the back is not even visible on the M4. and who wants a hard carbon fiber piece right on their nuts? its not a rollercoaster I can hold my own damn legs in place. i would consider it only if i was a serious track star. but at that point just buy a porsche. an m3 is supposed to be versatile - which includes comfort

Does it not move around on the rear axle when you floor it? I have a manual OG M2 and it can't ever put its power down in UK conditions.

@@SeanF374 he has some good bits on his channel, just this sort of driving is wild, but hey as long as its in an area that isn't busy that is somewhat ok, seen videos on ig people driving like this IN TOWN! that is the very f***** thing that "gives car enthusiasts a bad name" not this i wouldn't say just a guy enjoying a fast car although he should in a perfect scenario do this on a track!
@KrupekXD I have no issue with driving fast on country roads. If you watch this video though, you will see that he completely ignores houses next to the road. Families live in those houses and he is not anticipating the additional risk this creates and driving accordingly. The people in those houses will complain if cars keep nailing it past their homes and the speed limit will eventually get reduced which affects us all.
He portrays himself as an ethical petrolhead while doing the exact opposite.

Lovely machine, just be careful to take your time to adjust Mick. Your timing and rhythm are visibly out of sync with the car at the moment (not a criticism). Remember that your road position is a priority over the application of beans and that both the steering wheel and accelerator still need to work together. To use the power of this lovely little machine safely, you might want to try getting the power down with more commitment on the way out of the bends (where safe and appropriate) so you have more time to ease it back off before the next hazard - rather than spreading your acceleration over the straights (find the carpet early and then ease back).
Oh absolutely - I'm not stupid and have a ton of respect for how quickly things can go wrong.
These clips were literally the first time I went anywhere near the loud pedal and after 2 years of only driving auto I was very rusty :) I've already improved a ton, but I've got plans for a trackday and a drift day to dial the skills in.
"Ethical petrolhead" nailing it past houses again with a blurred speedo. That's how you piss people off and we all end up with lower speed limits. Save that shit for when you are away from where people live.

I think it will be interesting to do a video about the fast adaptation process. I've been driving the same car for 3 years, since I took my liscence, and I feel very insecure when I need to drive other cars.
It was tough! I'd been driving and auto for basically 2 years, 100% rusty with the manual in this video! Future videos should be a lot better, I'm finding my mojo again

Congratulations Mick 👏 one of the best brand new cars you can buy today along with the GR86, without doubt! Do you reckon you're use to the width of this car through these narrow winding roads? I'm a beginner driver so I always get intimidated with lane positioning when oncoming vehicles come from a blind corner 😂 If you ever happen to be in South West London area and for whatever reason need OEM parts for your G87, you may bump into me as a Parts Advisor Apprentice at Park Lane haha. To be fair, I wouldn't blame you at all if you'd go to Evolve Automotive to get their 'CSL handling package' and their Eventuri intake 👌
