@@twistedturk5708 MOST of it is listenable it's just the slow section right before the solo where it just peaks at like 5000Hz with every note that's just painful to listen to
5 and 4 from you are the only two "game music" songs I would actually play at a high school concert; these actually sound like the original song while also sounding like a completely normal piece of instrumental music, unlike basically the entirety of other songs that have been played at high school concerts (megalovania, those videos are *terrible*).
I'm not gonna get too into why soulless works so well with an orchestra but with things like megalovania the melody is very modern, syncopated with weird rhythms and stuff. But most of soulless's melodies are more or less on the beat and oddly classical in how they're structured, the harmony is very reminiscent of actual classical pieces as well. I've been staring at sheet music for way too long jesus
This popped on my recommend list and its fucking brilliant!!!!! Being a brass musician I'm listening to this thinking this would be hella fun and a great challenge at the same time. Great job!!!!
This is honestly amazing. I turned this video on thinking "Oh cool, I'll give this a listen in the background while I do other stuff." Cut to 12 minutes later, and I've just finished watching the entire thing. Truly incredible work you've done here, I even got chills a couple of times throughout!

@@notestarlord Not gonna lie the bassoon/contrabassoon are some of my favorite sounding instruments in a traditional orchestra which is probably why I'm using them a hell of a lot more often then "normal". (My favorite is a piano cause it's the only instrument I can actually play)
Fair criticism, I did deviate a lot from the original harmony there, all the notes in the melody are actually the same but I just re-harmonized Am into Cmaj6 which is a massive change so I get it if you don't like it
The best part about this is that it's most likely possible for a professional orchestra to play this (from what I can hear. I haven't looked at the sheet music yet) Also, the only thing missing is a plastic guitar part where someone who knows how to do so attempts to FC Soulless 4 while the orchestra plays.
You were right, your use of the dynamical range of each instrument is highlighted more in this one. I actually like this more than the original, because the electronic sounds exiled uses hurts my ears, especially with the key he uses for soulless 4. I think the only thing that impeded you hear is the song itself. Simply the theme and how each variation is made makes the song kind of hard to make grandiose like a symphony. Regardless, this is extremely well done.
I'm not going to lie, compared to the S5 one this one sounds pretty weird overall. That might just be me, though. Furthermore, there are some notable inaccuracies that threw me off (Bitchin' Bach and the second half of Memories of a Machine are the main ones that come to mind). _That being said,_ production-wise this is incredible and I can respect the time and effort that must have gone into making this.
